I totally disagree with the sentiment to sell Hound without the accessories. The accessories and finer details are what make a Masterpiece figure extra special. All the little nods to specific episodes are great. I agree the price hike makes little sense, unless sales are slowing overall and they need to raise the price due to less units expecting to sell, who knows? I don't buy many repaints, haven't crossed the line to buy any 3rd party figures, and am skipping most of the Siege line this year, so even at these prices, I can afford one or two MP figures per year.

Has anyone noticed both the shoulder launcher and the stationary gun in the jeep appear to have hinges, as if they fold up for transformation?

Yep, and judging by the photos of the Jeep mode, it compacts for vehicle mode, and can probably be left out for G1 toy accuracy

I believe they did a “second run”, not a reissue.

That's what I thought. Otherwise, that would mean zero neck articulation and I'd imagine that is a big 'no, no' for a MP level figure.

I bet there's enough tension in the assembly that the neck will sit nice and flush on the hood when everything is lined up correctly. Whoever put up the display probably bumped the head assembly without noticing.

We knew Takara's Transformers MP-47 Masterpiece Hound looked good and that he was pricey. What we didn't know was where those wheels went. Well, we know now. A new video reveals what might just be the best leg transformation of all time with the wheel collapsing into his legs. The parts count is so high that even his wheels are made of multiple parts, accounting for the higher level of show accuracy and price.

Facebook.
This toy is available at every single online retailer you can think of,
including Hasbro Pulse for $169.99. That version is the Hasbro release which will come in an extra box with English writing.

It's cool and clever and all but it still isn't worth the asking price. He still takes the cartoon accuracy thing way too far (the bland and weirdly tapered thighs in particular annoy me) and honestly I'd rather the partscount and price had been brought down with the wheels being on his legs like the old G1 toy.
