So now what do we do with jet Blastoff now that we have shuttle Blastoff?

Now that we have the new Amazon Blastoff, what do I do with the original CW version? A lot of you figured this out when you got the UW version, but that was a while ago. Is there a better character we can repurpose him as? Just a background Decepticon? Maybe there needs to be a Toyhax set to turn him into something else?

I... Actually prefer Jet Blastoff. It makes more sense to the team and frankly I find the completely unhidden arms on the Shuttle version to be pretty much unacceptable. It's like something from G2 Windrazor without the size excuse..
The Shuttle one tickles my nostalgia goggles tinted pink, but I have a G1 toy for that hit...

A lot of people are just repurposing him as a new character in the vein of Alpha Bravo, Offroad, and Rook. Take Off seems to be the most popular name, but other good ones have been tossed around.

I'm repurposing him as Take Off, and giving him to CW Cyclonus / Galvatronus along with Darkwing and Dreadwind, and possibly a custom 4th made from SkyDive and some stickers.
Even have a bio for him:
"Cyclonus and his Armada combine to form the unstoppable Galvatronus. Having cloned Aerialbot Sky Dive as a mindless drone, Darkwing, Dreadwind, Take Off and Cyclonus battle for control of the combined form of Galvatronus causing high mental instability, and fits of uncontrollable rage within the evil combination. "

I keep him as Blast Off for when Bruticus represents his IDW version. For this I also use G2 Brawl, since Brawl was light green in TAAO. When it's time to switch to G1, I put Amazon Blast Off on as well as regular Brawl. I have been contemplating buying an extra Onslaught, Swindle and Vortex to display both at the same time, but I can't decide which version of them represents IDW better.

Combiner Wars Jet Blast Off has been redubbed "Take Off" for my collection, being another alternate team member for the Combaticons, much like Hasbro initially did with Alpha Bravo and the Aerialbots, Offroad and the Stunticons, and Rook and the Protectobots. The parallels work very well, as each of these alternate team members usually tries to mimmick the color scheme of the original member they are "replacing." The two different forms of Blast Off are no exception.
I kept my Season 2 combiner team rosters fully G1, so with Slingshot, Wildrider, Deluxe Groove, and Shuttle Blast Off not benched, their "Sixth Man" counterparts are freed up for my Power of the Prime combiners. Alpha Bravo and Rook team up with Ratchet, Jazz, and Inferno to form Firestormer. Offroad and Blast Off team up with Dreadwind, Darkwing, and Starscream to form Megascream.
For anyone curious, I have a plan for Elita Infin1te. In addition to Moonracer and Firestar, Elita One will team up with Wreck-Gar and "Blue" Bluestreak. I already do have the TFCC "Wreckage" combiner, which uses Bluestreak, but I'm regarding that Bluestreak as the standard G1 character (based upon his in-fiction biography) with an alternate Diaclone-inspired deco and the extra Bluestreak combiner component for Elita Infin1te as the new "mysterious" character Takara invented when they released Masterpiece Bluestreak MP-18B a few years back to reference the same Diaclone/pre-Transformers version of the Datsun mold. I think that's a technicality on double-dipping with combiner teams that even Sabrblade would be proud of.

I've broken up my G2 combiners to add extra limbs to the unfinished PotP combiners, so regular jet blast off is now Takeoff and G2 jet blast off is not Touchdown. They are brothers and form the legs of Megascream along with Dreadwind and Blackwing as the arms.
This left me with some extra decepticons, so I made Eyesor out of G2 Onslaught, G2 Brawl, G2 Swindle G2 Breakdown and G2 Dead End. He basically looks like a box of crayons threw up.
Still working out my extra Autobots, probably wont finish figuring those out until I get Wreck Gar and Novastar in hand.

I made a Galvatronus with one Cyclonus and 4 jet Blast-off when they were on ridiculous clearance. It look quite good, but he (along Skylinx and his 4 Mirages) fell victims to my collection downsizing.

Yeah, I've always been a big stickler about Transformers being robots in
disguise, so when they transform into something that doesn't exist, it just doesn't interest me. Since brown army space shuttles don't exist, I've thought that jet Blastoff was a way better idea from the beginning. That being said, I still picked up a shuttle Blastoff just because I love Bruticus and wanted to complete the set, but the shuttle is going to stay in alt-mode and off to the side. I've played with shuttle-arm Bruticus and had fun mixing and matching, but when it comes time to put away my toys, Bruticus is always going to consist of military vehicles that exist. And Shockwave.

I have a UW Bruticus and I know I'm going to use this new Blast Off when I pull him out of storage but the chest plate isn't going to match and I'm not sure that'll bother me or not.

I was thinking of something more sinister, with the jet holding a grudge for being replaced by the shuttle. Something involving the fallen...

Of course, I don't have the jet, but still.

That's just made me realise that we now have four "spare" limbs. Therefore, I present to you:
The Rejects.
Alpha Bravo, Offroad, Rook, and Jet-Blastoff combine with Betatron-Scattershot (the individual Voyager version) to form uh...
Glumtron (I'll take suggestions for a better name
). a robot who's mostly just down in the dumps about not getting invited to parties.

Call him "Second Stringer!"
Other ideas:
"Understudy"
"Last Pick"
"Third Wheel"

You play with him while making pew pew noises. What else would you do?

I dubbed him “Jetstream” and stick him onto Galvatronus along with Offroad, Dreadwind, and Blackwing.

Since other combiners have Latin-y sounding names, how about his name is Latin for "rejected"? He can be called
Ejectus!

I would go for renaming him and giving him to Galvatronus along with Rook, Alpha Bravo, and Offroad - the other "spare" members from the pre-movie teams. I honestly thought Hasbro was leading up to that, initially releasing each team with a "replacement" member... who would then be displaced to Galvatronus when the original members were released.

I'd like to disassemble mine and make a new character. Mostly I just need to flip the wings, but I have NO IDEA how to properly do it. Those pins are an absolute PITA. Does anybody have any ideas on what I should do?

I'd be cool with jet-Blastoff if he wasn't just Slingshot in brown. Had he been a new mold/heavy retool I'd be cool with it, as is he doesn't even have the right head when a much more fitting one existed for that mold!

I have my shuttle Blast-Off on Bruticus while I have my jet Blast-off (redubbed Take-Off) on my Power of the Primes Starscream along with Dreadwind, Blackwing, and Off-Road.

Well, now I have this. It took some dremel work, and I had to fuse the wings in place, but in robot mode, it's a good mini-seeker effect, in jet mode, it's exactly what I wanted: a FSW Harrier, and in limb mode, the new sweep keeps the wings from interfering with the elbow bend.

Cool! Looks way better than the FSW bash I did of ROTF Dirge (that one was frankly vandalism and I'm working on undoing it). Don't forget to post him in the Customs forum

That's pretty much exactly what I did with my Megascream combiner. The only difference is that the limb arrangements are left-right mirrored between our two gestalt modes.
