Need help with G1 Blaster tape door

I recently acquired a beat-up and dirty G1 Blaster. It's one of the early ones, since it has the vestigial half-altered (Takara stamp partially blocked, no clip on cover panel, internal ridges that support the panel) false battery box that was used to store the micro cassette robots on the MicroChange version (because the actual tape deck on that one contained the hookups for the included faux-cassette AM radio). More importantly, it has the apparently-common assembly error that means the buttons don't actually open the tape door. Can anyone help me with reassembling it the proper way?
He's also minus his head, so I'd be interested if anyone had a spare head cheap, but that's beside the point of this thread.

Reassembly can be found here but with a head missing, i'd hunt on ebay for a G1 Blaster for a decent price and hope he's not misassembled. He's not rare but i dont think many carry G1 figures with a decapitated spare heads.

Thanks for the link.
But I'm not buying another Blaster when I just bought a Blaster.

The misassembly is easy enough to correct. And as for the head, well.. Blaster is one of those figures that Maiden Japan did a cartoon-based head for, so I figured some people here might have a spare original head left over as a result. And if it comes to it, I can just make a head myself with clay.
