deluxe arcee annoyances.

i found one, woohoo! and a dreadwing. bragging aside.....

arcee is making me angry. i can't for the life of me figure out what to do with her shoulder wheels (following the instructions, she has a tendency to bash herself in the face with them!) her cross-bow won't stay put (and is hair-trigger) and on mine, the chest-piece is a teeny bit loose.

c'mon, this is the only girl-bot in the line, please tell me i'm just doing it wrong and she doesn't actually suck!

the shoulder wheels are annoying, they should have made them to detach and form a small shield or connect to the back of the figure.. I hate so say it but, she does suck. and I'm glad to say i have jsut enough will power at this late hour to not post any of the jokes my sleep-deprived mind just came up with...

darnit, thats not what i'd wanted to here. :-( why do girlbots always have to be so hit or miss? *sigh*
I like the small shield idea. why couldn't they have implemented that?

at least dreadwing isn't a disapointment, so the evening's find isn't a total loss. he's exactly what i feel he should be: big dumb firepower and not much else. the story on the card? yeah, i'm not seeing the teleportation or sneakiness, this guy is just a maniac with two very large flamethrowers.

It would've made more sense if they made Arcee's wheels fold backwards rather than forewards. I personally leave mine up and outright as wings.

is there any vestige of lips on that sculpt? all the pictures i've seen make it look like a black void. i was wonder if someone were to make em silver if that'd help the head for me.

yeah, but then the half-wheels 'flop' rediculously. why they don't fold backwards is beyond me, it would have made more sense.

in the day that i've had her, her inability to hold her crossbow has gotten even worse: it pops off the groove if you look at it wrong. why couldn't they have just used a standard peg? those ALWAYS work!

The movie line version didn't look that great. I still plan to get her but I still like the Energon Arcee better.

As per her CGI render shown at Botcon, her tires go in the front...

Remy of TFkenkon has a good gallery, you can check out photos there until Ryan gets his photos up on Seibertron.com

I bought her last night, didnt get a chance to open her yet, so thanks for the heads up Skowl.

She is not too bad considering what a narrow alt mode she comes from, too bad about the face though.

I managed to pick one up today at walmart! Ive figured her 2 half wheels so in between her arms and her body, exactly like the concept picture. it seems a little akward, and you have to have her arms out wide to accomplish it, but that seems to be the way shes made.

I got her today, and she's not that bad. I rather like her.

I came across Arcee and '09 Bumblebee today, which was REALLY nice after a rotten week and a half at work. Anyhow...

I really like her, though the half wheels are an annoyance. More than likely I'll keep them up at the shoulder, as the "wheels in front" mode doesn't look all that great.

Regarding the face problem, I actually think a little paint touch-up is going to do wonders for her. The neck and mouth area both being black was a bad choice, IMO. Might touch up with a gold paint pen as well, as matching that particular shade of magenta/pink is going to be hard.
