As for Nightbird... is it just me, or is this mold starting to become this generation's version of the Classics '06 Seeker mold? :P

I would have thought the new Seeker mold was becoming this generations' version of the Classics '06 Seeker mold.

Indeed! I've got six of the Siege Seekers on my display shelves right now, and am eagerly awaiting the seventh, Thundercracker. I'll gladly take a few more at this point to round out the obscure "background" characters from Season 1 of the original cartoon, like Sunstorm (orange), Hotlink (purple), Bitstream (teal), and Nacelle (navy blue). I figure Sunstorm could be a Selects release and Hotlink, Bitstream, and Nacelle could be a "Welcoming Committee" 3-pack exclusive like the "Rainmakers" at Target currently. That would effectively replace all of my '06 Seekers in my collection, except for the Coneheads, G2 Starscream, and Action Master Thundercracker.

I've decided the OG seekers are the limit for me, unless they somehow produce some coneheads.

Honestly, if I were designing Transformers, I wouldn't even make a Decepti-Jet without knowing how I was going to approach Thrust, Dirge and Ramjet. You just know the fans will want them if you make ANY of the other three.

For earth jets, sure, but these are cybertronian and as far as I know the coneheads only ever appeared on earth.

All true. But there's nothing either way to discount them being the same mode on Cybertron, being they've all got modified wings on the same body otherwise.

Do the TT Selects come in the same style of packaging as the Hasbro Selects?

Excellent question. The first one (Star Convoy), is about a month away from release, so I imagine we will start seeing samples/leaks in the next couple weeks to find out. I've been curious about the packaging myself.

Takara Tomy Mall have updated their site with preorders and official images for the next seacons to be released in the Generations Selects line. Those two are Lobclaw (Nautilator) And Kraken (Seawing). The images show them in robot mode, alt mode, arm mode, leg mode and weapon mode. Japanese collectors can preorder them together for 8,208 Yen ($77.32) or individually for 4,104 Yen ($38.66). These will not be available at Amazon Japan or any other Japanese retailer for cheaper.
US collector will be able to get them through Hasbro Pulse at $35 each but those preorders are not available yet.
They are scheduled to come out at the end February 2020.

Feel like I need to go look at my G1 Re-Issue... but those colors seem *way* off, or am I just crazy?

I really like Nautilator's design. Even if he didn't combine i would be interested.

These guys are knocking it out of the park! Just wish they were maybe $10 cheaper than they are, but otherwise I love the designs and even the colors

See seawing I like, looks like a fantastic update but I'm not feeling nautilator. The gun mode isn't well done and the alt mode looks a bit wimpy.

For Lobclaw, at least, these images make his claws look like the same blue as his body, when they're actually a much lighter shade of blue than his more teal body, so as to make his beast mode more show-accurate to how his claws were light blue (instead of the toy's gray) in Masterforce.

Nautilator was always the Targetmaster on my G1 Piranacon, FYI.

Are those going to show up on TFsource too or am I going to have to dance around the preorder nightmares to get the full Seacon set?

It's best to keep 2 things in mind here

1. These are going for show accuracy rather than toy accuracy, so some things won't line up for that reason

2. the G1 reissue is also colored wrong

They will be sold wherever the previous seacons are also sold.

Sewing looks great but seems to have deviated the most from his original design. However, this entire set with all of their proper accessories and alt modes remain as the hands down without a doubt best Combiner Wars styled set to date. Sorry Devastator!

Seems the design team knew that, since they were all going to be extensive retools of molds with different transformation scheme anyway they figured these 'Combiner Wars' Seacons would be less of a 1:1 remake of the original toys and more of a re imagining. Which is fine as it still look like what its supposed to.

-Looks over at Unite Warriors Computron, looks back at screen-

Debatable but to each his own.

I will always throw Grand Galvatron into the race. I just love that set.

Superion pretty much nailed it too. There was a LOT to love about the Unite Warriors sets, honestly.

In other news, Hasbro Pulse just charged my card for my Reflector 3-pack preorder. :)

Am I the only one who thinks it's nice that the tails for Gulf/Skalor and Lobclaw/Nautilator become guns? I've always preferred having weapons hidden or integrated into the alt mode over "Slap the gun on the side of the car and call it a day".

...Granted, they also have plenty of "slapped on" weapons, but I still appreciate the effort.

Nautilator looks off somehow, but I still love him and want him. Though that could be my unhealthy love of crustacean transformers.

Seawing meanwhile looks stellar, no issues there.

As someone who first fell in love with the brand through Beast Wars, intergrated weapons are a thing I thought was by default and it is always my preferrence. Tails becoming weapons are a staple too
