Transformers Generations Selects Hot Shot to Potentially be Available at New York Comic Con

Thanks to a heads up from Jtprime17, we have word that the recently leaked Transformers Generations Selects Hot Shot figure might be available at New York Comic Con!

Hot Shot, who is a head retool of the Transformers War for Cybertron Siege Hound, has long been rumored to be coming at some point in time, and now that we know he exists, it seems as though he will be at New York Comic Con. This information originates from Entertainment Earth, who will be the ones potentially selling Hot Shot at New York Comic Con. The reason this is not confirmed yet is because the article where Entertainment Earth talks about the NYCC exclusives doesn't name Hot Shot specifically, but he does show up in a small banner on the page. It is very likely he will be available, but we are not quite confirming it yet.

Check out the banner below, and let us know what you think in the comments section below!

Nightbird: she's... eh? The paint work is stunning, but the mold is boring. This is my first go at this mold and I'm glad it's the only. It's not really good.

It's a worthy pick up, but she's definitely one of the weaker figures of the year.

Thoughts: Zetar is wonderful. His colors are really cool and I love his doofy drill head. He's so cute! His alt mode is good, the Brunt mold is the best of the Weaponizers. This is a great retool. I can't wait to get the other 2 Powerdashers.

Also his name is great. They all are

Yeah, I really don't like the Chromia mold (I do like the Moonracer mold, though). Its use for this new Nightbird is why I recently opted to go to eBay and get the Legends Nightbird that Takara made from the Generations Arcee mold.

That one not only has more weapons but a greater resemblance to Nightbird's actual look

I definitely agree with that. I'm satisfied with my choice though since I have the Arcee mold as Arcee but not the Chromia mold, so it's nice to get that mold diversity, even if one is a better mold than the other

Part of me wishes that Zetar's drill piece had a peg, not a port. But that's an incredibly minor nitpick. I may end up picking him up

I'm right there with both of you on the Siege Chromia mold. I was happy with T30 Chormia and was going to pass on the Siege version, but only got her when Hasbro Pulse had wave 2 deluxes up for $9.99. And I still feel like I overpaid. I was lucky enough got score a Takara Nightbird back when they were new, so Nightbird was an easy pass. Oddly enough, I would probably buy Selects Nightbird if she was on sale for $10. The paintjob alone makes were much better than Chromia's version of the mold.

Look behind you, I'm in the same boat. Didn't have the character, didn't have the mold and at regular deluxe price, why not. My expectations are pretty low and I know what I'm getting into. From what I've seen/read/heard there are a few improvements over the Moonracer mold and I tend to agree. Let's see how I feel when I get her in hand.

I will say it is an improvement over Moonracer, but that's not saying much.

That said, how does the Nightbird version feel in hand? Like, is it floppy or feel loose in anyway? When I picked up Chromia, everything felt like it was on the verge of not being able to hold a pose rightout of the box

My Zetar and Nightbird should arrive tomorrow from Hasbro Pulse via FedEx. :)

I'm excited for Zetar, but feeling a little buyer's remorse already from Nightbird, and I don't even have her in hand! I was on the fence on cancelling the preorder, but before I acted on that, Hasbro Pulse charged my card and shipped the order. I might as well accept it at this point. Maybe it will really wow me in hand, but the Transformers Legends retool/repaint of Arcee that Takara Tomy put out a few years back really does seem to be superior in almost every way, and I already have that figure of Nightbird.

Yeah, a part of me agrees it looks good (same with Chromia)... but a part of me really, really wishes the two of them combined as gestalt limbs.

I would actually call it a push when comparing the 2 versions. The improvements Hasbro made to the feet are solid, but they are offset by them removing the best part of the Moonracer mold, which was its ability to combine. The backpack is a bit more fun to transform, but is still huge and ugly in bot mode. And on top of removing the combiner peg, they really didn't do a thing with the extra real estate that the lack of a peg gives them. The back end of the car mode is still ugly as well, and now you don't have a PotP hand/armor to cover it up.

Well unfortunately I live about as far as you can be in the continental US from HP warehouse. They just now charged my account for Zetar, but still no shipping notice yet. Even when I do get it, it takes about a week to get out to me. So I'll have it when it's old news  .

Still I just realized, its kind of unfortunate the Autobot Weaponizers will outnumber the cons 5 to 1. But given the nature of the *Powerdashers* I guess it was unavoidable, and an admirable reuse of each mold. Also with 5 Autobot Weaponizers, not only can Aragon stand in as Grand Max's *Cog* I'll definitely be working on a way to make a Weaponizer Combiner from the 5 Autobots.... :-D

A 3rd use of Six Gun (as Metroshot), and perhaps next year getting a Fasttrack and Black Roritchi weaponizer would definitely get things closer to even, though having things be even has never been a concern for Hasbro unfortunately.

I'm curious to see what you can come up with. Cromar and Sixgun make sense for the arms since they each have a "hulk hand", but I figure making some kind of head is going to be the real challenge.

Zetar could be the central unit because he's the only unique mold of the 5 Autobot weaponizers? Though, Brunt's mold might not be that easy to work as the central unit due to limited connection points...

I agree, it would make it much more compatible with alt modes and some figures (like Rook)

That would be my guess, and likely starting during NYCC in a few weeks. My other guess is that since we sort of knew about Hot Shot since Hound packaging, that he will end up being WFC-GS04 with Cromar as WFC-GS09.

OK, at this point I honestly feel like I'm being trolled by HasbroPulse. It took them a week for their customer service to respond to a single e-mail inquiry of mine. Fortunately i took the plunge and ordered Zetar and the second wave of Seacons prior to Zetar's cut-off or else I would have been SOL again.

Next, I get a notice of a shipping delay until next Monday for Zetar (I figure OK, I was late but at least I'm getting it), then I get an e-mail in the middle of the night saying it actually shipped, so ok I guess...

I made my pre-order as a guest, but wanted to actually sign up so I can track the status of my order. It took a full 24 hours to get a sign-up confirmation e-mail.

Lastly, I look at my order confirmation and it says: Payment method : Submarine ??? :HEADHURTS:

It's actually an upside-down gun which translates to "trigger pulled", so you're all good ;)

Whew, man you got hosed, it only cost me $20, but they are gouging you for a whole sub? Wait, maybe they meant a sub sammich, but didn't have enough room for the sammich part? That would make more sense, but for $20 value it had better be one damn good sammich.

Damnit, now I want a sammich. What were we talking about again?
