The website says "domestic only". Does that mean you have to be in Japan or will they deliver to anyone?

You need an address in Japan.

I feel like they have remolded enough to make these worth buying. Knowing that we want combiner figures to have a similar size, proportion, and build — not to mention the fact that many of these are four-legged animals — using the same 'footprint' to design around is okay in my book. As long as we get heavy retooling that helps the figures truly homage the original.

BBTS is not a provider of this set currently. They had preorders for the first two but took down the pages. I know this because I ordered them and now I probably won’t get them and they never posted preorders for the other sets. Only a handful of 3rd party retailers locked in some inventory but it’s primarily sold through Takara Tomy mall and hasbropulse and it’s all sold out currently. This is not going to be a clearance item

Hence, the disclaimer - "if" ;)

Kinda thought they would do a set from the get go. May just be a Japan only set but figured it was inevitable.

Again, this is not a boxed set. This is just the six individual releases bundled together as one purchase, exclusive to TakaraTomy Mall.

As someone who preordered all three sets like the lunatic I am, the combined total order plus tax from Pulse was $103 + $76 + $76 for a total of around $255 USD. So, around the same as the Pulse release, except not counting shipping or any markups if this shows up on any middleman websites.

That's right about what mine came out to. (I think my first set was 101 if I remember correctly) I'm really looking forward to it. It will be definitely be the most expensive piece of my collection (beating out my over-sized Gravity Builder)

I wish Hasbro and Takara would feck off with all these overpriced exclusives that get more expensive on EBay and the like.

First it was the Velocitron and Siege sets from Titans Return. Then five of the seven Siege Seekers and now these Seacons.

Don't get me wrong, all those toys look great but the exclusivity coupled with the jumped up prices make them inaccessible to some of us.

To be fair, the velocitron and the other box set we're pretty fairly priced for what you were getting in there. Maybe a slight markup, but not more than fifteen bucks. With the c cons, it's a little more egregious, however I would suspect the sea cons also suffer a little bit from the same problem that Prime breakdown had in that there is a higher price per item than your average Deluxe or Voyager figure. And once they're released, they have no control over what the exclusive do on eBay. There are plenty of regular Mass release toys that have jumped quickly in price on the second hand Market.

With all honesty I wouldn't have preordered these figures if I didn't think they would get more expensive on the after market.

I'm not actually seeing much merit in your complaints, possibly because you are confusing what was a Hasbro initiative and what was a Takara initiative.

Hasbro caters to a larger market, so the exclusives are going to tend to be close to regular price, while Takara caters mostly to Japan, so their runs are going to be smaller and the prices will be a bit higher.

However, none of the examples you gave were that overpriced when compared to regular releases. Some of them are a pain to acquire, but not really that overpriced.

For the TR sets, the going rates at retail at the time were $40 Leader, $25 Voyager, $15 Deluxe, $10 Legends and $5 titan master. I'm equating the die cast titan masters to the regular release titan masters for comparison purposes. Both boxed sets were $100, and if you add up the regular retail price of the figures inside, you get to $95. So not that much of a premium there.

Onto the Siege seekers. Of the 5 exclusives, only Skywarp was above the regular retail price, and just barely. $30 for the Voyager plus 3 x $6 for the battlemasters, and you have $48, which was a markup of about $2. Redwing was technically below retail for most since you needed to get a Redcard and he was regular price, but the Redcard gets you %5 off, he was a real pain to acquire though. The rainmakers at $80 were priced below 3 regular voyagers, and if you waited till the after Christmas clearance, you could score them at an incredible discount.

Now for the Seacons, these seem to support your argument the best due to their high prices, but just looking at the price without any other context is misleading. These are a Takara only initiative, and so the best price comparison would be for Titans Returns deluxes and voyagers since those were the last time Takara and Hasbro had different decos and releases. And it that case, the price for the Seacons, at least in the US is pretty comparable to what the Takara releases were going for during Titans Return, so again, pretty much the price we were paying if you wanted the Takara decos back in TR.

The real problem to me is more the lack of availability for some of the exclusives, and not the price.

And, since it's a TakaraTomy Mall offer, a lot of good that does for most of us here since you can only order from TTM if you have a mailing address located inside Japan.

Some fans, like powered convoy, use a forwarding service for TTMall exclusives. Shipping is free within japan so you dont spend twice on shipping.

And thanks for letting us know its a bundle and not a boxset, that settles things.

I am extremely disheartened... I had all 6 preordered on tfsource.com, and then seeing this post, deleted them because I wanted the box set and I'm a little short on funds in January.. so seeing them come out in March was nice. But now seeing that you can only get it if you have a Japan mailing address.. this hurts. and All the preorders now are sold out on hasbro pulse and tfsource. What can I do? Can anyone help?

What's worse for your situation is that there is no boxed set of the six. The bundle for all six on TTM is just the six individual releases offered together as a single purchase.

I'm thinking/hoping that Hasbro is going to have at least a small supply once they actually arrive. I had to cancel my pre-orders because doing my budget for next year, I was afraid I would not have the funds when the first sets were released.

I hope to get them someway/somehow later in 2020, even if I have to pay a bit more. I know this sounds ludicrous, but for financial purposes, it would have actually been more beneficial, for them to be released once per month, over a 6 month span.

I understand.. it's not a 'box set' persay. I'm just disappointed I thought I'd be able to get them all later when you have to have a Japanese mailing address. Is there anyway to circumvent that and still have them shipped to US?

There are several Japanese forwarding services meaning ttmall sends to them and they send it to you. Just google it, shouldn't be hard. Hope is far from lost in this case.

So is anyone else religiously checking their Hasbro Pulse account info to see if the first 2 Seacons have been charged yet? It would be great if they started shipping before the weekend so we could have them early next week.

The original Japanese release date is Jan 25th, this Friday. I don't know how long the Hasbro processing will take.

Hasbro is currently saying the same date, but this is the first Takara Generations Selects purchase from them for me, so I'm not sure how reliable their date would be.

Does anyone who ordered Star Convoy remember how long it took from Hasbro Pulse to ship?

I think mine finally shipped around November 11, but he had so many delays, he was months late.

I am not expecting to be billed from TFsource until February and March for the various seacons. I'm stoked for them to eventually come

Nope, weird that now they are showing Gulf and Turtler as end of March with Overbite and Tentakill while Kraken and Lobclaw still show end of February.

I really hope they don't just consolidate everything and release them all at once. My wallet would prefer to spread them out 2 a month.
