Finally got my seacons in, and I've been messing around with them some. Trying to find a nice balanced King Poseidon combination. I think at the moment Gulf and Lobclaw are my favorites.

First up though, some shots of my alternate Overbite, who will remain with Battle Core Prime as a partner in crime

They are an awesome set. If I'd been able to work this year, I would have almost surely bought them already.

I love how Overbite seems to be acting in the first photo  He needs to do a duet with SkyByte!

I really want the Seacons, but Pulse not shipping to Mexico has made that impossible, the only reseller I've seen that sells them asks for 700 dollars :BOOM:

What I don't understand is why Greasepit and Exhaust are not available on Pulse. Neither is mentioned as any kind of exclusive. Usually new Selects are available to pre-order from Pulse but usually show up at retailers first. However neither one is listed and I reached out to them on Facebook and chat to find out the status. Neither option was very helpful. If I don't see them soon I will end up buying them secondhand at a markup. If this is an indication of future releases then I could end up missing out on figures and paying almost $15 each like they have been going on Ebay.

The rep from Pulse said they don't carry every Transformers product and don't have all the information on what they do but the Selects line is MEANT to be a major part of pulse for Hasbro.

I initially had little interest in the new Seacons. I'm not a fan of the combiner gimmick in general, and I wasn't sure the $35 price-tag for Deluxes on HasbroPulse was justified. That said, when people started getting 'em in-hand and posting pictures online, I had regrets about passing on a couple of the figures. Then, for a brief second in May, Pulse re-posted Overbite And Tentakil as in-stock, so I pulled the trigger. (Good thing, too, since God Neptune would have been an even bigger investment).

What a stroke of luck...

Tentakil totally redeems the horrid POTPie fem-bot engineering model, and all his new parts make me fully appreciate the mark-up on the Takara Selects. As much as I dig him, I have to say Overbite is the most fun Transformers figure I've gotten this year. Considering how much I've enjoyed the WFC stuff (and having acquired a couple of "Titans" grails), that's saying a lot. The head-sculpt is perfect, the weapons are fun and store nicely on his land-shark mode, and my gawd, the COLOURS!!! Both of these guys hit my nostalgia button in such a weirdly precise spot.

...Not because I had any kind of childhood attachment to the Seacons, but because they're dressed like "Saved by the Bell" characters :x  :-P

Because the two haven't been officially revealed yet?

We are not even meant to know about their existence, same with the other "rumored" figures like Hubcap, The Coneheads, etc

Deadput is correct, these figures were leaked via the eBay auctions last week, with some rumours have them being officially revealed during SDCC Online.

Megalopolis.toys currently lists both of them as in-stock for $21.99 each. I was going to wait until Pulse had them so I could avoid the shipping fees, but in light of the Hasbro rep playing dumb, I've decided to eat the shipping and avoid the wait.

I suppose $21.99 is only a couple of dollars higher then what they will be on Pulse. Though I don't understand the mad rush to buy them now? They'll likely be plenty of them once Hasbro reveal them properly and sell them via the normality channels.

That is my point exactly. If they were an eBay leak which I see goes for $36 then why does toy dojo and the chosen Prime both have them in stock for $25? That seems to be their normal markup on selects releas. You can see for $21.95 which is $2 about the normal price on pulse but you do have to pay shipping. When you factor in all of these parts it seems very strange that they're not listed on pulse yet.

If they're being tied into a convention (which since last year, I believe most conventions hasbro attends has had at least a selects exclusive - many times completely bypassing the pre-order phase) then they won't be up for sale until around the time of said convention; if another retailer has gotten their stock of them for that occasion and chosen to sell them early, then that's on them; but the other poster's above are correct, we are not meant to know about these yet, and I'd bet the retailers selling them now probably aren't meant to be doing so.

They're not listed because Hasbro didn't want to reveal them yet. As I say, rumours had it that they were going to be part of the SDCC reveals. If anything, Hasbro may do a suprise Fan First Friday tomorrow and announce them early because of the leak.

It's a holiday weekend here in the States, so I don't think that's likely.

Considering the fact that these figures are this widespread, I'd say they'll announce them just so they can have them be officially released. I mean, I could see it being a Tweet, rather than a whole "Fan First Friday", but still, at this point they can't play dumb

I understand the logic in some of the comments. But on the outside looking in, it does seem odd. If "all things were normal" meaning conventions would be going on, it makes little sense to announce 2 Selects figures on Pulse last week, that go immediately up for pre-order and scheduled to arrive in 3 months, then in a couple of weeks reveal two more selects figures that are available "now" (for convention attendees or on select websites).

I mean after seeing Greasepit & Exhaust on eBay I kept second guessing myself thinking I missed a pre-order somewhere....

Time for some armchair Transformers predictions!

First, I'm happy to see Tigertrack revealed for a Selects release. The Sideswipe mold from Siege is solid. The robot mode is arguably perfect. The alt mode looks close enough to a real Earth-based vehicle, the classic Lamborghini Countach. With Tigertrack revealed, I think it's a safe bet that we will not be getting an "Earthrise" version of Sideswipe. The Siege version is it. Hasbro and Takara are likely going to give us all of the classic G1 repaints based on only this mold. By my count, we only have Deep Cover and Clampdown to go, since we already have Red Alert, G2 Sideswipe, and now Tigertrack. I know some people were hoping for a more spot-on rendition of Sideswipe's Countach mode, at least as close as Earthrise Sunstreaker will get, but I don't think it's likely at this point. I also tested just how well Siege Sideswipe passes for a real Lamborghini Countach in vehicle mode by showing some friends who aren't Transformers fans or gearheads, and each one within a second was able to tell me "Lamborghini" when asked "what kind of car is this?" I bet Hasbro and Takara are satisfied that Siege Sideswipe passes this "casual test" too.

Yeah. The main things that set SIEGE Sideswipe's car mode apart from a Countach? Are the funky tail lights and having different - but decidedly still Earthly - wheels and tires. Wheels that look an awful lot like the wheel on MP Sideswipe's Collector Coin.

Am I the only one hoping HasTak will release the other G2 Sideswipe clone on this mold? The blue car with chartreuse robot parts?

That would be cool. I kinda hope they do that unreleased G2 Sideswipe deco too, the yellow car that fades to teal near the back with orange sunset graphics.

I broke down and bought them both. I was fighting the urge ever since you posted this. I finally broke when I saw I could pay with Klarna which is one of those split-the-payment plans so I can pay it off over 4 paychecks. I've previously used Sezzle and Afterpay at other merchants. This also keeps me from buying Masterpiece Exhaust, he's been in my eBay shopping cart for a bit but after breaking and ordering another SG Optimus I do not want any more Masterpiece figures. Too expensive to replace.

That was exactly my intention! He was singing to all the nice ladies in the crowd!

Seacon set is still being messed with. Doing more combos with the limbs and gun, but still haven't settled on one.

I think Seawing makes the best gun, he feels the lightest and makes a nice shield as well as a gun.

Lobclaw might be my favorite of the set currently. I love that lobster dude!

Got Tentakil to function better as a leg, think i was missing something when I formed leg mode originally.

I feel like Gulf and Overbite work wonderfully as either an arm or a leg, Tentakil best as a leg, and Lobclaw as an arm, though he also makes a fun gun.

Also, I really wish the limb dudes had some ratchets or sterner leg joints, makes the sword and extra gun dude a little hard to enjoy, especially since he might be the combiner (other than Victorion) that leans forward the most. I wish i could add weight to the back.

On that note, was it here that i saw someone make Seawing a jetpack/wingback for King P? If it was, please share again!!

Probably pretty decent, but if you want them, I would recommend just ordering them from BBTS or a similar site so you don't have to worry. There's a $2 premium for each and $4 shipping, so that'll add 20% to the cost.
