Pretty cool they gave him the mercenary faction symbol considering his TFWiki entry.

Huh. Kind of bummed he isn't the bumblebee version of the mold, but I think he still looks pretty cool. I'll pick him up if I can. Also, does this mean we've finally broken the one use per mold rule with the generations selects line? You could have had some wiggle room with that had they used the Bumblebee version of the mold, but this is literally just the same deal as Hubcap (Cliffjumper but in a different color and with a different head).

Wow, easy pass. how can it not use the bumble bee mold :( it might be possible to paint up a bumblejumper out of it though. Maybe we will get a selects animated waspinator nod out of bumblebee. I am appreciating being able to pass on selects figures at the mo.

Just ordered Bug Bite from Hasbro Pulse. He looks pretty cool. I'm not overly surprised that they went with the Cliffjumper tooling for this figure, sans Bumblebee head. It's only recently that Volkswagen has been a lot less uptight about licensing their cars out to toys that "represent war." Might be harder to convince them to let Hasbro and Takara Tomy use a VW Beetle as bad guy (or morally ambiguous mercenary) as opposed to a definitively good guy.

Transformers Generations Selects Bug Bite Revealed

It's that time of the week again! Tuesday has come and a new Transformers Selects figure has been revealed, and this time, unexpectedly following the leaked G2 Megatron images, we have the Go-bot of Bugs himself, Bug Bite!

Surprisingly, Bug Bite is yet another reuse of the Cliffjumper mold, instead of using the Netflix Bumblebee version of the tooling, although he does use the Bumblebee head. Why they decided to use Cliffjumper instead of Bumblebee is unknown, but at least Bug Bite has the honor of being classified as a Mercenary, joining Doubledealer and Exhaust in that category, which is neat to see.

Bug Bite is currently available from multiple retailers (listed below) for pre-order at your standard deluxe price points. Check him out, and let us know if you intend to pick up this renegade go-bot in the comments section below!

I guess it's a nod to the old brazillian/portuguese bumper/sedan figure and Hasbro not really having a name to use for it, using Bugbites name to keep the name trade marked.

Maybe HasTak would have had to pay additional licensing fees to use the Bee tooling again for Bug Bite since it has a licensed VW alt mode? Though I'm not really sure how that works.

*EDIT* Wolfman Jake's theory makes a lot more sense.

I think it's a callback to the original coloration for Hubcap, though the licensing explanation is also plausible.

I would also argue he's closer to the Generations mold using the Cliffjumper style body.

With that many colors being used for the minibots its the name that is out of place more than the mold usage. that yellow Tailgate looks awesome

THIS makes sense. Considering Hubcap is the 2nd use of the Cliffjumper body, just with a unique head, one would think Bugbite would be a straight up white repaint of Netflix BB, but the licensing fees , and VW's reputation makes sense. So we now get a 3rd use of the ER Cliffjumper body, with Netflix BB head...

Also the nature of pre-orders is highly unpredictable. Even though HotHouse is sold out for the moment on Pulse, no doubt more will come. Also, much older Selects pre-orders still have quantities available

Bug Bite looks awesome! Also, I like that Wheeljack and Bumblebee now have "evil" versions of themselves.

I wouldn't say "evil", more like "morally ambiguous"

Honestly, I think it is only the modulators/weaponizers on Pulse that sell out fast since they are army builders for some. Really, Centurion Drone, Greasepit and Hothouse are the only ones I can think of that went fast.

wow that is odd. Those are all the ones I purchased, but not because they are potential "Army Builders" but because they have the ability to build cities (and the drone being a weaponizer, though not associated with a Titan, I figured I have all the others so what the heck, but most people are getting it for the weapons pack anyway).

So of the 3 left we pretty much know it will be Voyager G2 Megs, Roritchi and... "". Roritchi is the only one I want. I'm hoping the last one is a bit of a surprise, not Ratchet as some are speculating.

Has there been an official method of reveal for the Quintesson Pit of Judgement yet? That may be the 5th one...

Quint pit is a SDCC thing, so it will show up on Pulse and sell out in 30 seconds with only half of us actually getting one, just like Ghostbuster Prime last year

Makes sense, but since this is an unprecedented time, one would think they would have had a few hundred to a couple thousand Ready to sell live had SDCC actually happened. There wasn't any talk of it at a panel or anything IIRC as there usually would be. Additionally isn't what sells online from Hasbro in past years usually just the "leftovers" of what didn't sell at the Convention?

ok, good to know, missed (or forgot) that announcement. Thank you.

I'm actually not trying to get it, just trying to eliminate possibilities of what the 5th reveal will be. I also know there is no particular order to these. The "unknown release" could be next tuesday for all we know.

No problem, there was a lot revealed at that time so its easy to see why it would get lost in the shuffle
