Ya know, I can dig this. It's aesthetically pleasing and fits the bill for looking like a SD version of the real thing. I like it.

I do not like it enough to drop 100-120$ on it though

Winter Wonderfesrt is underway in Japan and Takara Tomy is there to present a wide array of products. For starters, their booth has a sign for the now confirmed new Masterpiece Bumblebee. This is said to be MP 45 and will retail for over $100 (13000 Yen). The alt mode is shorter than the real life vehicle to be closer to the cartoon model. The image is blurry since it is a crop of a much larger image provided by Takara. You can see both below. Let us know what you think and keep an eye on our site as we will keep reporting news from this show all week-end long.

Gotta admit, that vehicle mode is kinda what I was initially expecting the first mp bee would look like, it's pretty cuddly

Not gonna lie, that alt mode looks great.

If this one comes with a battle mask, I could be tempted. :-?

You know, I'm sure it'll be a nice figure, but I love the original MP Bumblebee too much to feel compelled by this.

Come on, Takara. Either move on to new characters, or give us the redo we actually need: A new Seeker mold!

Well he does look great. Both alt mode and bot mode look much more screen accurate, which is always nice (for some people at least). Plus the bot mode looks much more articulated. If someone is just getting into MPs, or just never jumped on the first MP ‘Bee, then this figure looks like it’ll make an aswesome addition to their collection. I just don’t know if I want a second MP Bee, and I know I don’t want to drop that kind of money for one. Seriously. Even for an itty bitty bot like Bee, these newer MPs are becoming unaffordable. For me at least. I don’t even want to think about the rest of the season 1 minibots being upwards of $100 a pop.

I’m hoping that, like the rest of the newer MPs, he at least comes with a good amount of accessories to help justify that price tag.

SD alt mold, check. Sold. Now take my money!

Bot mode looks good too, even if they are Sunstreaking the chest! And can he double fist a pistol?

Now the "long" wait for better pics.

God, I hope not, given this current trend, it - and it's inevitable 14 repaints - will likely be about $300 each

For everyone saying this is great for people just jumping on, bbts still has the original... on sale... along with most of the other mp's... on sale, I wouldn't be the smallest bit surprised when this one inevitably goes on sale

I know that some people are sick of Bee, but I'll always love Bumblebee, especially as a Beetle (funnily I started loving Bee. because I love the Beetle, and I started loving Camaros because I love Bee) and I do not believe that it is possible to have too many Bumblebee's, or Optimi (Plural of Optimus) for that matter, if it's a good price sign me up.

The price is over $100 USD, is that a good price for you?

The reason that price is such a hard pill to swallow, for me at least, is I got G2 Bee shipped for about 34 bucks. And I'm sure he's been acquired for less than that.

Over a hundred for a Deluxe? He better be the most amazing thing ever. And come with a steak dinner.

Yeah, I got the Hasbro release with Daniel in his exosuit for $37 USD ($50 Canadian), that was fun. And I forget how cheap some of us (including me) got that red exclusive MP Bee but when I forget its usually because its some kind of nonsense price. So yeah, good times with the old MP Bee mold. Also, I remember someone saying that part of the old MP Bee's chest was fake since there was a fake back window. Well well, that is still a far better effort for using real parts than this incredibly fake chest here.

Yeah, the fake parts don't tend to really bother me that much, but I do appreciate when real ones can be integrated.

I tip my hat to the first Bee for accomplishing that.

I think he'll be about $88 with the 20-25% pre-order discount.

If it's more yellowy then I'm down for this release, new characters would be better tho.

It doesn't look as disastrous as I was expecting but I'm definitely going for the OG. Proper VW Beetle mode, cheaper price and IMO better looks win out for me.

I bet you if they make a new seeker mold they are going to be 250$ each at least, and
a fair few people who already spent 1000+ on the old set are going to be pissed.

You just know that they made this Chibi Beetle Bee so that they could have a precedent to do a Chibi Porsche Cliffjumper. ;)

Which is annoying because I really wanted a CJ that turned from BB-proportioned robot into an accurate Porsche. Oh well, there's the MMC one at least.

Sure, but to get those discounts you have to import and that will add more costs to that initial price. For both you and I, that can become quite costly.

You will probably get a chance to snag one of those original MP Bees for cheap from people getting rid of him.
