Now with those new scale photos, she definitely looks too big...

I don't recall ever being fondly attached to Terroraur either. though I think I blame Waspinator for hamming it up. I really would have expected him after Megs tbh.

Terrorsaur had potential. Yes he ultimately amounted to little more than Starscream-lite, but there were places they could have gone with him.

Inferno was a better realised version of Scorponok IE Megatron's most loyal 'muscle'. In Season One he was a formidable threat, due to his quite extreme level of endurance. Post Season One, he was reduced to comic relief which ruined his character completely really. Then again, Megatron and Rampage were the only effective threat within Season Two.

SpikeyTigertron wrote:Did she or Tarantulus ever use their "toy" guns? I know Cheetors gutt riffle ended up being the "standard default back up gun".

I just honestly don't remember either spider blasting much.

Would be cool if they somehow keep her toy spindle effect and could hang from the stand.

BA mostly used hers in the Bad Spark episode, in some of the less nauseating moments with Silverbolt. Tarantulas used it once or twice in Season One. Although exact episodes escape me right now.

It might just be the gray prototyping that makes her "assets" appear more perky than most of the show then. Metallic colors can hide a lot of exaggeration, especially if they look like they're wearing the older bullet bras.

The beast wars one's are the one's im the most consistent on buying. The other's are all pretty random depending on how much i like the character / mold / and of course cost (mostly cost).

I'll be adding her, and look forward to see what magic they pulled off to hide the spider's abdomen.

regardless, it feels inaporopriate. There is show accuracy, and then there is taking it too damn far, especially in this day and age.

Blame Mainframe for taking advantage of the more lax censorship of 90's American syndicated programming television (versus the stricter censorship of 90's American block programming television).

You can see the pointy end of her right one (the left one from our perspective) in that screencap. The MP replicating those pointy ends is just Takara continuing their regular aim of show-accuracy. If anyone's to blame for the inappropriateness of BA's design, it's Mainframe for their having designed her like that in the first place 20+ years ago.

Plus, the Japanese aren't nearly as prudish as we westerners are. It's likely not even a blip on their radar.

Is it any different than when Felicia Hardy has the chestiest Marcel Legends figure?
Image
Her boobs barely fit into her suit. And this is a toy for kids.

And you just know that any figure of Emma Frost is gonna be dressed like a dominatrix.

I’m just saying, when it’s character appropriate, is it that big of a deal?

The oversexualised design of Blackarachnia I always found a bit gross. Catering to the same "Sex Bot" fetish IDWverse did. BA being the image I would equate with, when people spoke of the inclusion of more Fem Bots into Transformers.
As said though, the accuracy of the MP figure is undeniable. It is funny that it took this toy to bring her design into focus for some, 20+ years later.

Its plain not needed. A lack of nipples would not deter from screen accuracy in any way. Look, I get it, its something I would not have cared about a few years ago. Now though, I'm raising two young boys, and this is the **** they are surrounded by that I have to teach them is not okay.

I just don't see how during the design process somebody was like, "wait, better add the nipples!"

I don't disagree with your point of view, but we're 20+ years too late on this. The horse has been dead for two decades.

And, thankfully, at least BA is remembered and revered the most for her great character more than anything.

Besides them no doubt using the 3D character model, which would have the nipples, anyway?

I think it's great we're seeing more Beast Wars in the MP line. I hope they do more Predacons in the future. Inferno, Rampage (though even the original toy was pretty accurate) ... and Transmetal 2 Dinobot!

So far Takara have said its season 1 cast only at the moment but if sales are good...
