Funny thing about the Cyborg Beasts, they were never actually called that in the cartoon.

Hellscream might stay in shark mode, he is very unstable.

All 3 look and feel really good, though I think Dirgegun is my favorite of the 3.

I do intend to find Thrustor. My Japanese Beast Wars series Predacons are nearly complete, I only need Thrustor, the Autorollers (if I get them at all), and Killer Punch. I think there are a couple straight redecos in Neo like Crazybolt, but I don't intend to get straight repaints from Neo.

Looking at the Neo, the only ones from the show I don't have are Rockbuster, Randy, Bump, Survive, KP, Crazybolt, Hydra, and the Blentrons. But with the exception of KP, all are straight repaints, so I will most likely not get them

That's how I chosen to leave my Hellscream also. The Turbine arm looks really cool, but it is far too heavy. Especially given the weak ankles of the Cybershark mold.

I considered Crazybolt. Possibly dipping my toe into completing the Iguanus variants. But he is ridiculously expensive on the second hand market. Much like Diver, for the Spittor variants.

Yeah. the repaints are too expensive for me to justify. I aimed for tooling for Neo, which worked out, I have all but 1.

BWII will be a challenge, I want the Maximals, but several of them are very pricy repaints and I'd prefer the repaints, ugh

I got Diver at RoboCon 2019. While it wasn't cheap, I was able to justify the price because it came MISB with the whole Niagara Base included. :D

Also got a loose Elphaorpha.

While that is a very good find, I wouldn't want the base. Just the lil Green Frog, at a reasonable price. eBay basically laughs at my request...

Diver will probably end up being the hardest to pay for, he is so expensive for how small he is. If he hadn't been repainted green it would be easier to buy the original release.

Elphaorpha is cool! All 3 Blentrons use molds I really like, they're just so expensive.

I am not excited to pay whatever Thrustor finally costs me, but I have 3, so I do need him to finish it out

I got a Drancron from eBay awhile back. All I need now is Latolata.

I do still have my original Injector, but want to be authentic with my Blentrons, and Latolata is a slight redeco with charcoal gray plastic instead of black.

I just had a quick look on eBay. There is a Diver, missing one of this Bot Mode arms (Beast Mode hind leg)... $74.99

I also finally got the missile for TM2 Tripredacus agent, completing him and crossing another incomplete bot completed off my list!

I forgot that I wanted to post something in this thread, but seeing your TM2 Megatron just reminded me, so thanks! ;)^

About two weeks ago, I received something in the mail that I never thought I would ever get. A holy grail that I had purchased from eBay (don't ask me how much I paid for it) and which I never imagined was possible to get.

It's not a BotCon figure, but it is on that level of rarity.

It's Cryotek. The Japanese-exclusive "USA Edition" that includes his little Spark avatar pilot inside his chest cockpit!!! :KREMZEEK: :KREMZEEK: :KREMZEEK: :KREMZEEK: :KREMZEEK:

I don't need to ask how much you paid. As I looked into that one some time ago...

Congrats! I've seen the RiD one before but passed at TFcon, but I didn't know there was a Japanese release that kept the spark pilot

YOUCH. That's gotta sting. But congrats, Cryotek is cool. Kinda want the PerfectEffect version myself as IMO the TM2 Megatron mold is one of the less gracefully aged BW figures.

Speaking of purchases though, albeit on the other end of the expense spectrum, I just nabbed off of eBay a complete Injector for less than a modern Deluxe! I've wanted that shelfwarming Realm of Chaos-looking son of a glitch for longer than I can remember. He's just so stupid looking and I love him.

Injector might be top 3 favorite Fuzors for me, as well as one of my favorite Predacons. He is so stupid but so much fun

As we've discussed before. Although Silverbolt and Quickstrike were actually really good figures, I wish some of the more interesting designs made it into the show instead. Air Hammer and Sky Shadow being two of my favourites.

BotCon has been known to have rare, or cancelled figures on display from time to time. So we'd like to bring you a little bit of that experience today!
Although only appearing in the main toy lines from 1996 - 2000 and receiving a store exclusive figure just recently, Cheetor is one of many characters who have had their appearance evolve quite drastically in both toy form and in media. BotCon sought to place end caps on this evolution with the adolescent-looking vehicle mode Cheetor of the 2006 box set and the old bearded lion mode Cheetor of the BotCon 2014 souvenirs (who in the story had merged with Alpha Trion to become named "Alpha Trizer") .
Perhaps the strangest looking iteration of Cheetor though was the "Megatron's Monster" approach given to the Transmetal 2 toy. A mutated mesh of metal and fur, this Cheetor so ugly only a Transformers fan could love him!

Today we're taking a look at the variants of the Transmetal 2 Cheetor toy!

The first batch of pictures feature your standard release Transmetal 2 Cheetor. There were no differences between this release and the Takara release outside of packaging.

The second batch of pictures is what is a curious and unique variant to the toy. It was offered in Japan in Hasbro packaging with a sticker on the back covering the tech spec with Japanese writing.
The figure itself features a bright metallic silver paint in place of all the gray paint apps on the standard release.
There are mixed reports to the actual origins of this release. One of the more likely, according to Walruslaw on Twitter, is this would have been a prize from the TV Magazine coloring competitions for February, 2000. Another report is that it, along with other toys prominent in season 3 were special theatrical early releases.

Finally. The canceled deco! This deco of Transmetal 2 Cheetor is commonly referred to as the "feral" Cheetor, representing his wild ferocity in the 2-part "Feral Scream" episodes from the hit Beast Wars cartoon! The deco itself doesn't seem to be completely finalized as the gray plastics and yellow paint applications appear to be like the ones on the mass released version. The yellow molded plastics are more pale and feature a dark color swirl. This predates the Transformers Prime: Beast Hunters toyline; known for the swirly plastic colors by 15 years!
The burnt red even has a bit of gold seemingly swirled into it. This is of course, a preproduction sample and features pieces with different molding and number markings on the toy itself. The gray paint is even of a darker color and not matching the plastic. Truly a remarkable deco had the toy been released this way!

Also, I had this idea a few weeks ago and thought it would be fun to bring up here: what if a Transformer outside of G1 was introduced into Beast Wars complete with new beast alt mode. Who would it be, and what would the alt mode be?

This came up because I have been watching a show and the Hellhound came up, and I realized that no Transformer has ever had a Hellhound alt mode, and that alt mode would work perfectly for TLK Mohawk

I love that idea, but as to who I'd choose? :-?

I think Lockdown would be a great addition, and as for his alt mode, that is something I'd need to think about.

Unfortunately not for me. All Kingdom Rhinox has to do is give my T30 Rhinox a gentle nudge or even breathe slightly hard in his direction and he'll tumble right over. I ended up with one with terrible knees that can really only stand upright, barely. I'm welcoming a replacement.
