Really great list, William. :D I do love the Cybertron line. Yeah, maybe some... not-so-good toys, like Backstop, but nothing horrible. And yeah, Backstop tried something new. And his rhino mode is great.

For the most part he's fine, but his arms bug the hell out of me, they're so gangly and unnaturally far from his torso. Plus I think popping out little Hot Rod wings is a waste of the gimmick. I'd rather give his slot to either Evac or Mudflap... probably Mudflap since he's got a neat transformation and that MASSIVE (though a little unwieldy) sword. Probably bump him to the 10 spot and move everything up.

No list is perfect and this one was more popularity based since it was voted by the site members. Mud flap was a less popular character/toy and thus not as many people had him to pick him. Personally though I prefer HotShot over Mudflap, I just find him to look better in both modes. I really love that head sculpt too.

ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:I would personally rate Snarl above Cybertron Defense Hot Shot because of wolf bias and liking his articulation scheme more.

I might as well. Some of my personal favorites didn’t make it either like Scourge and Landmine which would be in my personal top 5. I really like scrap metal too and loads of other scouts. But it’s fine, all those toys found or will find a way into other lists.

Thanks for the kìnd comment.

How? Both are the same design.

And even that would be a pretty short list, I don't know if I can think of 5 actual stinkers in the line.

We could still do a top 5 worst for fun.

Off the top of my head I would have overhaul, thunderblast, override (that articulation is atrocious), and backstop. Is there another terrible scout figure out there?

CD Scattorshot does have a rotating setup: it's just really hard to move. It ends up on the back:

And it looks the exact same as CW megaton when you flip his chest up, want you look at that Kanrabat.
I guess an apology is owed.

Well, sh... Guess I have a valid entry for the Things your transformers can do that you never realised thread!

That option was not "hard to move". It was hard to see! On the original, it's easy brown on blue. But on Dropshot, it's brown on brown. So, invisible.

As you saw above, I discovered something. But I'm still right about the feet-thread.
So you just get half an apology. [-(

The insecticon was pretty bad, but I think it was a case of it being very different and looking like something from a series that's not transformer related (like voltron or power rangers).

Downshift has the best car mode and one of my most disappointing bot modes...His chest is just the whole front of the car. I wish folded down like a Sideswipe or something.

It's a compromise because of the claw action gimmick.

And what's wrong with Override's articulation? She's got a decent range of motion including thigh swivels and bicep swivels.

Nothing with the amount of points, really. But that doesn't mean anything if the range of the limbs is blocked by kibble or bulk. But what's more bothersome with Override/Nitro Convoy is her/his spring-loaded gimmick not locking in place in the shoulders.

*shrug* I've never found that to be a huge bother in my 10 years of owning the toy.

I found it to be a huge bother since the moment i owned it. Really felt more gimmicky than any of the other toys in the line.

For me, I find the waggle of the rear wheels in robot mode to be a non-issue. It doesn't stop the shoulders from rotating and posing in my experience, and it even allows some inward movement of the arms. Starscream's lack of butterfly joints in his shoulders, now, there's an articulation issue.

My own personal experience with Override, her auto-transformation is kinda finicky. And it makes her floppy overall. Not to the level of Energon: Slugslinger, but that's a low bar to clear.

Energon Slugslinger's not that floppy if properly transformed, in my experience. Yeah, at first I thought "floppy mess" but I kept messing with it and finally got it figured out, and it was a lot more stable that way.

I took out my Cybertron Optimus when I got Siege Galaxy Optimus, and wow the old one is so huge in comparison. (It's also a little floppy on some of the "trailer bits" but that's neither here nor there). I mean, i have just the "small" cab robot mode standing next to my Siege on in fully done up "super" robot mode and damned if the "little" cybertron one isn't bigger. I know siege leaders are taking them smaller than ever, but dang!

I've never much cared for Cybertron Megatron, but the Galvatron deco sure looks nice in the pics I've seen of it.

Having recently acquired them, I have to now put cybertron Longrack and Crosswise on this list.

Crosswise is an incredible mold! that is a fun mold that is big, chunky, weighty, and just dang cool. And the transformation is really intuitive!

And Longrack is wonderful, that headsculpt is better than a lot of figures in my collection overall
