A "repurposed mold" is a negative? Then at least half of all Transformers figures are absolutely terrible by that logic.

Lack of play features? At over 2ft, he has the articulation of figures a fifth his size. So that is nonsense. It has three modes also.

These are subjective criticisms, not objective ones.

Rose tinted goggles off, barring one or two exceptions EG Jetfire, that were ahead of their time, The rest of the original line is no longer comparable. The larger figures especially, have all been eclipsed by their modern counterparts.

a repurposed mold is a negative thing if it is the cause for lack of play features that a previous figure had (storage for cars in the feet etc) so this wouldnt be a bad thing for other reused molds rg takara legends missfire into other figures as they still had the same play features as the g1 toys.

Earlier it dropped to like 1500 now it’s up to 4677

If we're talking about titans Fort Max, being a repurposed mould really hurt the figure.

It's littered with vestigial remains from Metroplex. They didn't even try to make the legs make sense for Fort Max, they didn't bother removing unused recesses, they kept in the swinging arm, the hands COULD have been better (just as they could have been on Metroplex). If the figure had been designed as it's own thing it probably would have been just as mind blowing as Metroplex was.

But I thought this thread was about the newest Unicron. Where did all those new numbers come from!?

Yeah, I am guessing the initial drop was a computer glitch, but the addition of the 1500 backers might have been the international backers getting added in. It still has to get what it got in three weeks in five days. It might happen, but I am not exactly counting on it.

Had this come back in May, I likely would have taken the dive. But alas, I must pass. :(

Maybe a chunk came from Cookie Monster backers but a surge definitely came from somewhere. Hey, over halfway there!! :-D

It’s way too late for this but I really feel he should be a tad bit oranger maybe just a tiny little bit am I alone? Second his eyes are clear and the Titans have light up features they did say there was more surprises so pretty please thanks! Finally I’m sorry but I need to see him standing on his own two feet I know the official joints and materials may not all be there but that’s important to me also can he take a knee or how far can he bend his joints? Over 90 degrees are there double joints do his abs crunch? Where are all 50 points of articulation??

Instead of adding on the 1500, they probably simply entered 1500, realised what they'd done, then added the 1500 to the other figure and brought it back to 4677.

I'd be willing to bet (come on, someone take the bet with me, and you'd better **** pay up this time and not disappear from the website like the last person did when they lost to me) that the 1500 doesn't include Australia's EB Games/Zing and Japan's TT Mall figures.

From what I heard on TFW2005, the 1500 were from Hasbro affiliates like bbts

Did they define what they mean by "affiliates"? I took that word to mean TakaraTomy Mall, not the US retailers. But I could be mistaken.

As long as it doesn't include EVERYTHING (like EB Games, which you said hadn't submitted numbers yet).

Nope. I think most people are just assuming "affiliates" is online retailers like BBTS.

EB Games/Zing have said they weren't submitting their numbers until the last day, but that could have changed.

All we know is that 1500 came from outside of Hasbro Pulse.

Why would they wait until the last day to add their numbers? Can't they just add them as they receive orders, keeping the count accurate?

If I have to be critical about a single aspect of the Unicron campaign, it is clarity and communication around who counts and how. They were unclear from the start about which countries would be included and through what channels (shouldn't that have been determined in the pre-announcement planning so they could execute a unified rollout?), and whether the one channel we knew about relatively early, TT Mall, would count towards the 8000. Now there's this utter lack of clarity about affiliates.

Goddammit.

I hear you man. You know, I’m hoping they’re hearing our outcries and after Cookie Monster taking a dunk (see what I did there?) they’ll tweak their approach. They know more about selling toys than I do for sure, but I think our fellow Seibertronians make some fair points.

Poor Cookie.

I think we're very fortunate, as TF fans, to be at 58.5% on Unicron vs. ~20% on Cookie Monster...

If only the news crew had access to a Hasbro rep that they could ask directly so they could state once and for all what has and hasn't been included. Image

John Warden already confirmed that there will be no electronics in this figure due to all of the money having gone to the molded details and articulation.

As for the 50 points, the individual fingers are included in that number.
