Agreed. Pretty much all of the Reveals for Earthrise so far have been great, I'll be getting Many of them. But as much as a fan as I am of Combiners, Titans, and tertiary characters, I still find myself without the Iconic leaders of each faction. Earthrise Optimus Prime finally hits most of the chords I would want for a classic Optimus, so I'll finally have one, but Megatron will continue to remain strangely absent from my collection, Making TR Overlord the leader by default I guess....

I'll toss in my two cents about the new revels.

As a kid my only exposure to Scorps was the Energon version and his subsequent repaints, so this Titan version while really super neat isnt something allotted in my budget.
Sky lynx .. Man, the combiner wars version was the one we needed, but this is the one we deserve..
Bluestreak is the only Praxus/Datsun that I thought looked nice enough to pick up, so a new Smokescreen is a character I wouldnt mind picking up on sale or for full retail after more clear pictures come out.
Megatron on the other hand..Is really befuddling. Im super satisfied with my titans return version, some of you may say its hearsay but I think he wears the mold quite well. And he is the only classic 80's styled Megatron I own, so the Earthrise one really isnt hitting those spots as hoped. Seeing this new one just makes me want to pick up the cell shaded one or the green camo selects one ..

Yes. Makes sense too since very few of the component parts are actual weapons unlike the Siege versions where most of the parts could be used as some type of weapon.

Oh wow Megatron is an earth like tank and Smokescreen is G1 ... I am so totally surprised >:oP

I will say that Smokes looks like a MP flavored straight reshell of the Siege Datbots. Well maybe reshell/retool is the wrong concept, but engineering looks like it may be like playing with the same toy. Looks good, but dammit, I just bought three of em. Going be a hard sell to talk me into more/replacements.

Megs just look uninteresting and the legs or feet seem similarish to Seige (actually a lot of the steps looks similar). That's not a knock, just an quick observation that it remind me of the Siege figure. I'm too lazy to get a step stool and pull my Siege Megs down to compare.

The two space shuttle Micromasters look awesome, we need more little guys that make up one alt mode. It also appears Hasbro is all in on the NASA license

-

I came here to talk about the maps. Anyone into those? Is there a thread dedicated to em? Here is a poopy pic of Grapple's and Starscream's maps (respectively) which just happen to fit together. No hidden stuff other than red space lines.

Image

The real question is would anyone be interested in thread of their own where we can share high res scans?

Anyone notice what looks like "dirt" on the front of Meg's alt mode?

That Megatron is literally a waste of money if you already own the SIEGE one. Good grief, HasTak! You were spoiled for choice with Earth altmode based Decepticon leaders and you went with Lazy, as usual... >:oP

Scorponok :x

Oh how long I've waited for you... And you look magnificent :APPLAUSE:
The last of the four City Bots will soon be here and then my collection is complete!

Yes, there and on many of the yellow parts of Ironworks. It actually looks really good on Ironworks in hand. I spent a part of my teens replacing broken windows on construction equipment. The wash effect they used on the yellow portions of Ironworks looks spot on for regular dirt on heavy equipment.

That Megatron is literally just Siege but worse. The """""sword""""" is especially embarrassing. The tank mode is nice, I'll give it that, but everything else, yikes.

So the Quitesson is a baseformer modulator bot? Snapdragon looks a little Apefacey to me :-?

Have you ever felt insulted by a toy reveal? I didn't think it was possible, but that's how Smokescreen and Megatron are making me feel right now. The other reveals are, of course, awesome.

That 'Scoponok' looks AMAZING! Gonna have to save my pennies to try to get one of that figure. 'Arcee' is fantastic looking too. 'Skylynx' is so close to the G1 animated screen version it makes me shed a tear. This truly is a "New Golden Era" for fans of Transformers, especially for G1 fans and those who grew up with G1 original series.

:-D ;)^ :APPLAUSE: :yinyang:

No, nor can I imagine. I like when I'm not interested, saves me money, time and shelf space.

With that said, I just opened ER Starscream and he's good, like please don't redeco the mold into TC and SW good. Just some coneheads please.

So...Megatron goes from being a Tank in SIEGE, to being the same tank BUT BLACKER on Earth?

I mean, it IS a great Vouager class Megs, but this will be the third mainline use of this mold with slightly different deco/tooling. I mean, at least Optimus is a new figure, even if it’s still just a GEEWUN-style. But I was sincerely hoping for an aerial-based alt-mode for Megs in Earthrise. Once again, I expected too much from John Warden.

Doubledealer and Snapdragon! Awesome! Though, it looks like the Powermaster engine might just be sculpted in... Or it could be similar to a Prime Master... Either way, that's a tad disappointing. I was hoping for a proper Powermaster, but I'm mostly just excited for a proper Doubledealer

To be insulted by a toy says less about the toy and more about someone who says they’re insulted by it.

Hoping doubledealer has some power master gimmickery and (maybe wrongly) snapdragon plastic matches ape faces.

Quints... Going to need one for every face. Liking the base mode a lot too.

All icons, going to be wanting three of those.

Micromasters shuttles look great.

Still hoping for a racknruin to be shown so I can avoid buying the cyber verse one.

Runamuck looks to be his own mold? Looks different enough from cliff or wheel jack to be his own thing anyways which is great even if lacking some orange.

Fingers crossed rest of the autobot datsun cars aren't just select/exclusives even if it clutters up main line figure slots. Earthrise looks to be getting more of my money other than plain grey megatron.

Smokescreen and Megatron look decent enough, I skipped the Siege version of Prowl because I wasn't keen on the vehicle mode design, but if this Smokescreen is repainted into a Prowl I'll get that. With Megatron, I'm still happy with my Combiner Wars Leader, but I'm really eager to see Takara's new Super Megatron we heard about a while ago (if it's even still happening).

Cant wait to see the alt modes... the quintesson especially. The allicon and runamuck look great. Doubledealer... will get him but the origjbal g 1 toy was awesome back in the day, hope this one captures some of that too.

The mm airbase was one i really wanted as a kid, this looks amazing. They could have a whole sub brand of these things...

Megatron feels a bit disappointing but a lot of it has to do with how earth like his wfc mould was. Im skipping star scream, not sure bout megs as i got prime...

Smokescreen is a might get... probably if part of a whole wave for sale or something. He is my fave dutsan.

So yeah this is gonna be another expensive year.
