Ramjet and Dirge look fantastic. If they do Ratchet out of the Earth mode Ironhide I’ll probably get it.

The Coneheads actually look pretty cool. I'm not so keen on the mold for the main Seekers, but the Coneheads were always B-listers IMO, and they do seem to wear the mold better. I might try and get them.

Is it just me or does Dirge look a little surprised with the open mouth? ER Skywarp is definitely shouting, but Dirge looks more like he's shocked or surprised.

Hasbro, you so lazy! Why go to all the effort to modify the mold to make cone heads if you’re not going to remold the guns? Whatever.

There's this thing called budget.

Excuse me, sir? Do all of us Lycanthropic Americans look the same to you? For shame! ;)

And in return, I would like to point out that even Lycanthropes can be american centric. Zerowolf resides in the UK, and no, he is not an american werewolf in london.

Sadly I'm just a British werewolf in Teesside

England is like the werewolf homeland. ;)

I can't wait to get Ramjet and Dirge, but I hope we don't have to wait too long for Earthrise Trust. I'm going to want to put Ramjet and Dirge on my display shelf ASAP, but poor old "Classics" Thrust will look out of place with them, like they brought him to "take your kid to work day" or something.

Taking another look at Earthrise Ironhide, he looks to be MASSIVE for a deluxe, thanks in part to that new removeable car roof piece (compared to the Siege version). He can't be THAT hollow inside either to bulk up his surface area. I wonder if Ironhide is coming in a set with Prowl so Hasbro didn't have to decide on a deluxe or voyager price point for him.

Remold them for what? They had the same guns as all the other Decepti-jets on the show.

Must be the angle. He looks like he's the same size as Siege Ironhide to me.

Just got my Doubledealer from Amazon and I have to say he's a good figure. Not perfect, but definitely a fun figure to mess with. Also, I was looking at the map section and realized that the inner packaging for him has the Mercenary faction symbol despite the Decepticon branding on the outside, and Autobot badges in the promo art. Makes me wonder if Snapdragon's packaging is the same, cause wasn't he called a Mercenary at NYCC?

So, unrelated note, but anyone can tell me how I can order Scorponok? He's outta stock on the Pulse, and last I checked, Amazon wasn't carrying him.

Did the toys have different weapons? I can't remember their weapons being different now that you mention it :-?

The G1 originals didn't had null rays but huge missiles or bombs.

The complaint is valid as far as G1 toy accuracy is concerned. Hoh well, Shapeway or 3P upgrade kits it will be.

The toy jets (Ramjet and Dirge) did indeed have different guns. Thrust had the same as the original three. On the show, though, Ramjet and Dirge had different 'guns' on the planes, but the same guns as robots.

maybe hasbro accessory pack 2 with another figure down the line for their guns. Not too worried when its hard enough at the mo to get thundercraker/skywarp.

The guns don't bother me. Ironhide's roof shield and shoulders sticking out in vehicle mode? It's very inelegant. They were really not planning on making him in Earthrise when the Siege version was made because that could have been handled better.

Prowl looks good, IMO. Just a standard Autobot car. Which is all I wanted from him.

But they're all still way better then the universe and classics molds, so I'm good.

Although the decision to make her an ER Arcee retool obviously came relatively early in ER Arcee's development. And is the reason the mold has the issues it does; they seem to have made it a total shellformer for the sake of making the robot body easy to swap out for a different one.
Ugh... It doesn't suit Elita very well (it would be better as Ariel) and it came at cost to Arcee's quality as a transforming to... Blagh. To the complaint box!

What's more annoying is that the front of the cars are actually different, but couldn't be bothered to shape them differently.

They went through the trouble of giving different "headlights" that give it a slight more slope and a vent on top over the wheel, but could have done something more radical like a sharper angled fork similar to Pointblank.

To the point that they remembered that Dirge's lovehandles aren't blue, but gunmetal gray/black! Not even the Masterpiece figure got that right!

Too bad the face is too light and the cockpit is completely the wrong color on the new Earthrise figure. :BANG_HEAD:

The cockpit on the animation model look like plain clear. So the ER version is accurate.

Look again. That's a yellow cockpit on Earthrise Dirge (and Ramjet).

william-james88 wrote:Image

Although, some promotional shots show that it is clear instead, but with a face painted stark white! The test shots we saw of Thrust and Dirge have clear cockpit windows too, but again Dirge has his face painted white, which is completely wrong. We've got different differences between the CG renders, the leaked test shots, and now these promotional images of actual figures from Takara Tomy. It's entirely possible that these are again non-final production models, as happened with Earthrise Optimus Prime, who's plastic colors and paint apps just kept changing between renders, convention samples, and official promotional photography.
Who knows what the final products will actually look like at this point. :???:

Yeah, the seekers look awesome... Very on point.
I understand the gripes about the weapons and what should have been done to make each one more unique.
I can let this one slide just because the overall look of the figures is so good.
At least the bot modes don't have hollow arms and/or legs.
Now, do I think the could've made Ramjet's weapons more missile-like?
Considering they're making money from 6 figures that are relatively the same, yeah, I think this could've happened...
But again, the bots (and the jets too) look good enough AND at legit voyager scale, that I'll gladly add these to my collection.

I've also come to realize that as much as I like the CHUG versions of most of these characters, I really think in some ways ER is just a bit better in terms of overall appearance...
ER Ironhide is a few times better than the Universe counterpart; the headsculpt, the shoulders, the forearms don't have the extra panels, and even the hands look better imo. And of course, the ER version is probably free of the permanent looking downward issue of the CHUG version.
With Prowl, minus the hollow-ish lower legs and feet, the proportions are better than the Universe version (which are a little on the lanky side) imo.
I've figured out that bot mode proportions are also a big deal to me; ER Prowl looks more animated and cartoonish, and just well-designed. I'd say the same about Ironhide; the proportions just look right.
I definitely don't regret ordering these, and am looking forward to having both next to Prime in my display.

Try entertainment earth, I pre-ordered mine from there about 2 weeks back. Or just try targets since they are popping up there, store or site.

Target would be your best bet, just have to be patient. Also BBTS is still taking pre-orders as well.

As someone else mentioned, I got my Doubledealer from Amazon today as well. I have him connected to Scorponoks base mode. I decided to take a couple days off. I'd love to get a Slitherfang in the next couple days so I can show off all the airlock system Transformers so far.
