Each mold has its own pros and cons. Siege does look better proportioned, particularly in the torso and pelvis. Plus, it hides the back wheels in robot mode. Earthrise, though, doesn't stick the front wheels on the "love handles," has no arm kibble, adds articulated hands, and has better smokestacks. I'm giving the edge to the Earthrise figure because it has the classic truck cab alternate mode, not a stylized "Cybertronian" truck mode, and it has cleaner paint apps. You pick your poison with the Siege version's paint jobs, either battle damage silver paint smears or weird "cel shaded" paint effects. If there were a version available with just screen accurate apps and no gimmicks, I'd be very tempted to keep that as my display piece. Also, looking at MP-44, Earthrise Optimus does seem to be more or less in proportion with the animation model (long legs, short torso), which may be what they were going for. MP-10 engineering cues with MP-44 proportions and Siege levels of sculpted detail and greebling all at the Voyager scale.

I'm suprised you can see any differences between the two robot modes (paint apps nonwithstanding) only thing I see in Earthrise is the windows being slightly different shape

Siege prime was one of my favourite primes and toys. Absolutely adore the figure... great robot mode and fun transformation. Something some of my other favourite primes lacked. The main critisicism on my part was that the cybertronian mode didn’t look alien enough. I ended up having a long internal debate as to whether I should get earthrise prime or not. Was taken aback at how soon and similar they were. Decided to get the earthrise figure out of fear of missing out... they will have to battle it out for supremacy of the shelf. Or take turns cos it’s prime not megatron.
And am still annoyed at how they released the cell shaded figures afterwards.

It looks like Earthrise Prime is going to have a high chest swivel like Impactor.

That is actually one of my favorite parts about Siege prime. That and hiding the back wheels in the legs make Siege Prime my favorite of the whole line. That transformation is just plain fun.

*looks at the comparisons between Siege and Earthrise Prime*

Casing of the lower legs, and the feet.

:EDIT: and elbows.

Don't worry, neither HasTak nor Warden will ever let a Prime sell out.

CW Red Prime would like to disagree.

That was a shelfwarmer 'round these parts.

Indeed. Typically Prime and Bumblebee are always shelfwarmers over here.

Siege Optimus didn't stick around here. Megatron on the other hand...

Something I've been wondering about Starscream is: do his wrist swivel? All the pictures I've seen suggest they don't, but I'd like to know if anyone has evidence to the contrary.

i think it would be cool if they packaged them in vehicle mode to bring back that nostalgia from G1
since earthrise seems to be from that era

I've realized where his proportional issues lie. His waist has been turned into hips and it reeks havoc on his proportions. I think it might be possible to mod him to fix this, probably using the waist from SIEGE Prime.

you can tell that they both share some of the same molding and engineering
especially in the legs

Honestly, the proportions of Earthrise Prime almost seem more in line with the cartoon and MP-44, with the longer legs and squatter torso. I think I like it, possibly even better than Siege Prime's porportions.

New Stock Images of Earthrise Grapple, Starscream and Hoist including Packaging

We have some more stock images for the first batch of Earthrise figures. These are not renders and thus give us the best idea of what these toys will look like in hand, or on the shelves. We have images of voyagers Grapple and Starscream (who is based on the classics deluxe). We also have an extra image for deluxe Hoist and leader Optimus Prime, which look similar to the images used in Takara catalogues for suppliers. The images were found on Autobase Aichi's Twitter. We also added the previously reported in box images.

These should be out soon within the new year. There is of course the final wave of Siege to see on shelves first. All of these Earthrise figures have been available on preorder at a myriad of places online like BBTS, TFSource, Entertainment Earth and Amazon, just to name a few. And the prices are the same per size class as they were in Siege.

Might have to actually buy 'another' Optimus Prime. I've tried to stop re-buying versions of characters I already have on display, and I was very happy with the PotP one, but this one is tempting…

Too damn lazy to paint Grapple's head black eh Hasbro? That's okay! I wouldn't want you to hurt yourself. I'll just OVER PAY you & do your job for you.

Oh I get it! You're constantly pandering to the cartoon accuracy jerks as usual. You're just too damn cheap & lazy to include 2 heads? You can include multiple heads with Marvel Legends all the time but not with Transformers? You just can't include a cartoon accurate head + a toy accurate head? You're never ever going to make a Wheeljack figure with a toy accurate head for me? Thanks a lot! I really appreciate it! Now why don't you go raise the prices again. Isn't it about time we start paying $29.99 for deluxe class? JERKS!!!

On some episodes, Grapple's head was yellow. Guess they picked one, but they seem to be leaning 'cartoon' with this line.

Don’t bother. He’s a troll who jumps between sites throwing fits about the same stuff and leaves. He’s not here to have conversations. Just stir pots

You, uh, doing okay over there? Do you want to talk about it? I used to argue with Hasbro subsidiaries too, but not since I changed my anti-depressant.
