Once you've seen it, you can't unsee it!

@Krana yes you did, though I'm suprised that no one has done that idea yet, though I can see for practicality, three figures being possible, a 100% robot, a cyborg and 100% flesh and blood. They certainly wouldn't need to go to the extreme as THOSE add on parts.

Of course, this is where you tell me Japan has something like that already and I wouldn't be surprised.

Somewhat, it's already been done in Transformers with the Pretenders in G1. Especially in Master Force. Gotta love that mass-shifting!

Make me wish for a Pretender Arcee.

While looking for a picture of humanized G1 Arcee, I found this:

I wish I hasn't because now I want it and it's impossible to get. :(

Quickly googles TFCC 'Human' Arcee..

Considering I regularly source rare and/hard to find Transformers, that is the most overpriced basic action figure I've seen to date.

Correction: 'Human' Rodimus was even more

Arcee - $180

Rodimus - $220

Y'all had your chance to get those Arcee and Rodimus toys back when the Club Store was going out of business and opened its products to all people, not just club members. Those two figures were not big sellers at the time, so there were plenty of them to go around.

I often think the same, looking back to the latter days of the Beast Era. Hindsight can be cruel at times. :(

The barely-differentiated expressions of those Arcee faces remind me of Bumblebee 2.0 and his trio of "different" faceplates; I see an irritating trend on the horizon.

I have...mixed feelings on this figure. The car mode is sublime, and parts of the robot mode look good too. The facesculpt is pretty nice, the articulation looks top shelf, and it certainly does look like Arcee.

BUT.

The faces all look exactly the same, the backpack is an eyesore, the chest is a bit...droopy, and the price is pretty YIKESworthy. Also the transformation will probably be undiluted pain, especially with recent MP QC. If this were the only MP-scaled Arcee on the market I'd be down for it, but when MMC's Azalea exists, which has a not-completely-horrible transformation, awesome robot mode and almost no kibble with the only sacrifice being a less accurate car mode...Yeah, this is kiiiiinda hard to justify.

Canadians can preorder?
Because even though I ragged on her and I bought Azalea Protoform, I have to admit that I'm interested in the official one.

Transformers MP-51 Arcee Available on Amazon Japan for $106 USD

We thank Rodimus Knight for informing us that Transformers Masterpiece MP-51 Arcee is now available on Amazon Japan. For most fans, this is usually the cheapest and fastest way to get Takara toys. In this instance, she would only set you back $106 USD for international retailers, since they don't have to pay taxes. You may get import fees depending on where you are, like in Canada, Israel or the UK (the example shown below is being shipped to Canada). There should be no import fees for the US though. The shipping price is around $14 USD and it tends to be the quickest international shipping possible.

Of course, regardless of the price being lower here, the question of whether or not a collector wants this Arcee remains the big one. So let us know!

Oh, I hate that Arcee.

I hate her so much that I finally created my Amazon.JP account and I preordered her with the power of a thousands suns! :-D

I admit, she have her flaw. But there's something intriguing about her. Oddly enough, the fact that my Ocular Max Azalea Protoform Edition is coming soon did motivate me to get the official one. For starter, that price is perfectly reasonable and the shipping is absurdly cheap. Second, I really want MP Arcee and Proto Azalea to be side-by-side on my shelf.

Ordering from Amazon.JP amount to 190$CAN shipped. Will I get scored taxes on it is unknown but at worst, it will have 10$CAN of fees on top of taxes.

Meanwhile, Age 3 And Up have their preorders up for 215$CAN.

That is, shipping and taxes not included. The price difference is not that big. But if the Amazon order come in faster, it will be much more worth it.

I actually ordered 2 of her when I saw she was available. I want to display her in both robot and car mode, although I also have some issues with the design.

You wont get charged extra when it comes in. What you paid on amazon is the most you'll pay and some of the money might get refunded. In the end, it's gonna be about 40$-50$ cheaper than ages 3 and up and you'll get it in 3 days once shipped.

This news has me reconsidering getting her.

The 1986 cast, should they finish them off, are one of the easiest sub-sets to complete - and Arcee would be a big part of that. Besides, I have Ultra Magnus and Hot Rod.

Oh yeah, I forgot I already paid some taxes upfront. The amount was so low that it was kinda invisible.

Regardless, it's not true you save money with Amazon.JP because now that I know it's a thing, I randomly happened on something that I never knew existed. It was bought so hard, I almost smashed my keyboard!

I had her on Pulse and quickly cancelled my order with them and got it through AmazonJP.
Saves me a little pocket change and makes up for a deal i missed on Pulse a month ago on another MP.

I live in Canada too and have been using Amazon Japan for a couple years now. For those that aren't aware, the nice thing about Amazon Japan for us Canadians is you pre-pay the taxes (the "Import Fee Deposit" is just your taxes, nothing extra) and there are zero extra fees beyond that.

So the price you see when you place the order is the maximum you will pay - there's no surprises when it arrives at the door and no extra processing fees (unlike Canadapost/Customs with their the stupid $10 processing fee). In fact, if the price goes down after you pre-order it (meaning the taxes go down), you get a refund in the taxes you pre-paid too.

Compared to other JP sellers like AmiAmi, they also subtract the Japanese 10% consumer tax before they charge the Canadian tax "Import Fee Deposit", so you frequently save a lot of money compared to buying domestically or from other stores. Although shipping costs have been changing over the years... When I first placed orders in the summer of 2018, it was 600 yen per order plus 600 yen per item for toys. Then it increased to a higher per item and higher initial order fees. Now it's 1,200 per order + a volumetric weight of 650 yen per kg. Which can end up cheaper if you are able to order multiple items at the same time since most toys don't weigh much.

Shipping is super fast via DHL as well. I live in NB, and it if it ships on the weekend I usually get it by Wednesday or Thursday that same week. In fact, something just shipped on Friday and it's already in Ontario and cleared customs so I expect to get it Monday or Tuesday at the latest. In this COVID world, I have an EMS package via Japan Post that has been stuck in Japan for over a month now, but I've received a few Amazon JP packages via DHL like clockwork with no extra delays.

Having said that, though, the Amazon shipping boxes are really low quality (thin cardboard) and the packing is really simplistic. They wrap the items with tight plastic wrapping to keep it attached to a cardboard base and then glue the cardboard base to the bottom of the box. There is never any filler packing material like peanuts or air packets, so sometimes the shipping box can be beat up when it arrives and sometimes there can be a little dent or two on the toy box depending on what happened or how tightly the plastic was wrapped. Most of the time it survives fine. I don't care about perfect boxes anyway as long as the item arrives okay, but don't expect the quality job of A3U or AmiAmi or others in terms of how it's packed.

Well, I gotta say, after taking a good hard look at this and all the other... er, options for an MP Arcee figure, I just don't think there's a choice that suits me. Every one of them has a glaring problem that doesn't justify the prices they're charging for them. As much as I don't want this to be the case, I don't think I'll have an Arcee in my MP collection. Perhaps it's just as well; I can't look at those tiny feet they always give her without being reminded of foot binding.
