You seriously think that this single step warrant all those sacrifices and odd design choices? Come on, man. It's like blaming how poorly built a house is based on what picture frames hang on the walls. This make no sense.

Transform Element OP Leader and Ocular Max Azalea both have their vehicle wheels completely disappear in bot mode. Yet both their transformations are relatively straightforward and simple and their bots have basically no kibble.

Disappearing wheels is as simple as turning a panel and or folding some panels over. It's no rocket science. MP-44 may be a bit overcomplicated, but at least he look good. This official MP Arcee is just BAD all over. You cannot blame a "single cause" when the cause is lost.

A bit baffling that this official Arcee fail so hard because the designers had so many 3P options to learn from.

Perhaps I should have said kibble and not just wheel, those were just on the forefront of my mind because of MP-47. In any case, the designer was desperately scrambling to avoid integrating any of the altmode into the robot mode and vice versa, not even a concession of the thighs forming part of the car aft as was done on T30 Arcee. Forget learning from 3P, they couldn't even learn from a toy they themselves did six years ago! And then tried to compress that down to a Deluxe.

Also, I think I realized what's off about her chest. They made the top of her "bosom" a separate slope from her collar area, and squashed it down to below the armpit. On the actual cartoon design, the collar area is incorporated into the upper part of her chest, the slope of which extends to the top of her shoulders.

This. So much this.

What make the other "Arcees" work so well, even Rouge and Laea, is the fact that many of their bot parts are also part of the vehicle. Thus reducing the backpack. I can forgive the Earthrise Arcee to cheat via a "surfboard" because she's a regular retail figure with a restricted budget. But the MP have no excuse with it's "unlimited" budget.

I'm still looking forward the video reviews though. Maybe she will feel and look way better in hand than on those photos.

It's because of the Hyper Cartoon Accuracy At All Costs trend. The rear fenders of Arcee's car mode are entirely pink in the cartoon. And since the designer wasn't willing to concede that for the sake of better integration...

It’s not awful, and I reckon will look much better in hand... however, the price is off putting for me atm. Last mp I got was hound which was great but fragile and was zero fun to transform. I feel that they could get “easier” figures right rather than end up with a less than perfect complicated one like arcee.

Think I’ll return to collecting mps when they release the rest of the ark crew or I win the lotto.

yes they could have maybe should have put in the extra engineering to make her more visually appealing
but at what cost :???: i think until i see a video review ill reserve judgment

I'd argue that LG-10 is as accurate.

If the 3rd party companies can make an Arcee with an accurate looking chest I don't know why Takara couldn't. I guess the designer didn't think it would bother anyone that much.

Wasn't this the same guy who did T30 Arcee though?

No idea. It just seems to me that engineering can't be an excuse.

The backpack doesn't bother me, but the face is wrong. The chest is . . . distractingly wrong. She can't stand on her own. And $150 to boot. I already have 3 or 4 combiners that can barely stand and will collapse entirely if I even think about posing them.

A sad, but easy, pass.

Yep. The same TWO designers as the T30 mold: Yuki Ohshima (who did the aesthetic work) and Hironori Kobayashi (who did the engineering work).

I can't help looking at these pictures and thinking, "It'd be really cool if someone released a pack of just translucent blast effects." Especially since they'd be compatible with multiple TF lines at this point.

I think MP-51 Arcee looks incredible for the most part. I see what you guys are saying though, that aren't happy with her chest design, and I agree that it does look unsightly in some of the pics. Specifically, the seam or line on the side of her chest piece detracts from the figure and in some of the pics, it looks like her chest sits too low. I see why the piece is like that, it just doesn't seem that well thought out, though I'm sure they spent a lot of time on her look. It's just off, which is always disappointing on a Masterpiece figure (especially with the announcement lead time on these things).

The rest of her looks great and I can't wait to add her to my collection. Only thing that would be cooler would be a little Daniel figure to go with her ... hell I'd even take a 2nd head that transforms into Rebirth Danny as best as they could.

If anyone takes these comments out of context, I will be really upset! :HEADHURTS: :michaelbay:

That misplaced chest is just too distracting. It looks mistransformed. I hate to sound whiney but when the asking price is so high, I do expect a high level of figure. This is probably a pass for me, which absolutely sucks because this was always a bucket list transformer for me. If the price drops to Tracks level, I'll probably snag it but for $150? I doubt it.

Well, Arcee did became a... headmaster at some point. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

But seriously, I'd love to have a proper Headmaster Arcee figure. One that is not the phoned-in TR Blurr repaint.

The TR Blurr redeco comes a lot closer than a Chromedome redeco (like was proposed during G1) would have.

I would REALLY have liked a pink G1 Blurr with a female face. It would have fit the spirit of the goofy robots of G1 plus the vehicle is perfect.

I did a rough digibash some years ago. Maybe I'll buy a G1 Blurr body for cheap and make the custom myself.

As for the TR version, I would have liked them to went the extra mile and make some heavy retooling. But at the time, Gen Select wasn't a thing. Maybe one day?

1. Hasbro-initiated Selects toys don't have much retooling thus far, and 2. What do you call TR Arcee's new upper arms, new arm panels, new guns, and new shield then?

Well, the ball will be at Takara.
Also, that light Hasbro remold still make TR Arcee look like Blurr in drag.
I just HATE that Titan Return Arcee! [-(
That's what I keep telling myself since I saw those goddamn second market prices. ;__;

But would they? I mean, Headmaster Arcee was a Hasbro idea to begin with..

Yeah, those prices are ouch. Not as stupid as the CW limb prices (even if they're steeper), but still. Makes me wish there was a 3P conversion kit to customize Blurr with

The way I see it, TR Arcee just has legs like Animated Arcee (and it's not like they could have done too much with the base mold's legs).

Her vehicle mode looks like it came straight from the cartoon!
Her chest looks werid depending on the angle.I wonder how easy it will be to stand this figure.

Day 130 of waiting for Transformers Armada Masterpiece news.

I was just taking a closer look at the pics and wondering that myself. The backpack is so massive and the legs so dainty, what are the odds it stands without an ugly stand?

Arcee has been given very expressive hands! I'm astonished at how well they resemble the natural human anatomy. Just that alone impressed me.

Have we reached this point before, with any of the characters that are later adapted into Headmasters? I think they missed a trick to add that bonus feature to Spinout, in lieu of skipping over IDWverse's Sunstreakers Headmaster shenanigans being added to his MP figure.
