Transformers Masterpiece MP-39+ Spinout Discussion Thread

Well, this came out of the blue. Takara just revealed their next entry in the Masterpiece line: MP-39+ Spinout. This toy is a TakaraTomy Mall exclusive. For those unaware, that doesn't mean you won't be able to get him, it just means you won't be able to get him from Amazon Japan or other retailers that usually have a better price. So you'll have to order from domestic importers who will charge basically the same price as indicated, which is 13200 Yen (a little under $125 USD).

This is an homage to the Diaclone Sunstreaker. It uses the same head as Cordon and seems ot be in the same shade of red as Sideswipe. So you get two very similar looking vehicles which transform completely differently. It's a pretty cool effect, as you'll see in the images below. This toy comes out end November this year.

I have just one word to say about this:
"Dia... CLOOOONE"!

Okaym a little more than that: Between him and Tigertrack, the Masterpiece line can now portray the Lambo Brothers as originally intended

Sunswipe? Sidestreaker?

Wait, don’t say that last one in or around schools.

Randy, the forum really isn't the best place to post news tips if you want credit. It gets lost or buried pretty easily. Best thing to do is email us directly at the same time you post them to ensure we see them from you first. We do appreciate the effort! ;)^

Finally we can add a cook fuel preparation specialist to our Autobot rosters.

Looks really nice but I couldn't justify the price for sunstreaker so I'll be passing on him and just adding it to the growing backlist of mps I don't have.

Randy, I saw your post and sent it to the news staff. They simply created a new thread out of this news instead of adding it to general thread because, here, pretty much every MP gets their own thread for news posts.

Nice. Sunstreaker didn't get the socket missile for cartoon accuracy, but it's sort of made up for with Spinout.

That Spinout is pretty nice looking! Price depending, I'll think on him, he would make a great companion to my MP-12 and he is my favorite color

The side by side vehicle comparison is rather cool.

Wait, why is he MP 39+? If he's using the Cordon tooling, shouldn't he be 42+?

I asked that very same question in the main MP thread. Don't look too much into it. 8-}

I think it's because the car mode isn't the police version.

Or... Deep down, it's treated as an alternate version of Sunstreaker (which he technically is from a development point of view), who has MP-39 as his ID. Like how MP-38+ Burning Convoy is treated as an alternate version of the BWII anime-accurate MP-38 Convoy Legendary Leader ver., despite being made from the MP-32 tooling.

Except, as I said in the other thread, really he's an alternate version of Sideswipe despite using Sunstreaker's working name. Why do I say this? The full versions of Sideswipe and Susntreaker's original bios describe Sideswipe as having features of the "Super Tuning" Countach and Sunstreaker as being the unmodified New Countach.

And you know, MP-12T Tigertrack - who is most definitely not an alternate version of Sideswipe - used Red Alert's toy-accurate faceplate. Yet he was MP-12T, not MP-14T.

That's not all, thanks to the efforts of another fellow Seibertron user, AllNewSuperRobot, we've learned that two UK websites have also put up their preorders for this latest addition to the Masterpiece line.
Check out the links below.

£96.97 - Kapow Toys

10% deposit option is available for both.

Spinout is a redeco of MP-39 Sunstreaker using his original Diaclone colour scheme coupled with his toy accurate head from the MP-42 Cordon release.

Are you getting Spinout? Let us know in the Energon Pub and stay tuned to Seibertron for all the latest news and reviews,

I preordered him but I may cancel....something about the red color and the black areas have all that design on them on his legs...should've been smooth like sunstreaker's. I'll see how I feel in a couple weeks... I have six different sideswipe characters, I don't know if I need to add a 3rd complex Lamborghini with all the others I have... it just sticks out like a sore thumb in those colors in robot mode, the car mode is fine. dammit, I have 11 different MP-10 figures...I got to stop buying every damn repaint of molds.

MP lambor was a monument! And this guy looks exactly like him!! originally sideswipe was supposed to be sunstreaker, red not yellow and explains the jetpack conundrum
