I last handled mine back in November, didn't notice anything at the time. He did come out around the same time as Cyberverse Hammerbyte whose light blue plastic is known to yellow very quickly after opening, mine yellowed after a month sitting on my desk out of direct sunlight. Maybe they were having an issue with some light colored plastic?

It may not be classic photodegradation, as there are other causes for plastic discoloration. Not talking dirt here, but it may be something in the mix that's acting the way it shouldn't.

It actually reminds me of how SNES consoles quickly discolor because of faulty mixing; it's speculated that it's the bromine, that acts as a flame retardant, rising to the surface.

This may be already a DUH to you guys, but make sure your lighting isn't emitting any UV; in particular fluorescent tubes because of the mercury inside.

No yellowing on my Screamer.

I got Ratchet from Amazon on Thursday, right out of the box part of the hip/thigh is discolored. Not sure if it's my eyes or it's supposed to be like that, barely noticeable but it's there if you look.

That's one of the spots I was seeing people on Twitter talk about, as well as the head and shoulders

OK, something I've read about SS Ratchet on TFWiki has me thinking a bit, and asking this question: are any of the parts affected made of a plastic other than ABS? Ratchet's affected parts are made of PA, Polyamide aka Nylon, and rubbery PVC parts are *very* prone to discoloration under the right circumstances.

Possibly, some of the plastic reminded me of the Top Gun Maverick bot.

Not seeing any yellowing on my Ratchet yet. Somebody had a picture of their Coronation Starscream with a discolored hinge, I wonder if that's related. My local Target still has an original Hammerbyte that has all of the light blue yellowed right in the package so it seems air exposure isn't a must here.

Just checked my Netflix Soundwave under a bright white LED panel photo lamp and he does indeed have a yellow right hip, everything else is gray. I was planning on passing on the Legacy version, but between the yellowing plastic and mine having a bum foot I might give it a shot.

Looks like we might have to scrutinize over or figures a little more which will mean another strike for windowless packaging. Going to keep an eye on SS Perceptor given all his light blue plastic.

The tiys are not vacuum sealed, the tiy is still exposed to air in the packaging.

Right, what I mean is circulating air. The package is still sealed enough to trap in all the gasses and plasticizers released by the plastic which usually is enough to keep plastic from showing signs of degradation for several years, let alone one year.

Well, I finally got Netflix Magnus. This is my first WFC Magnus, and will probably be the only one I get. I really like the paint work they did with this guy, it's a unique look, and he feels really good in hand. He will eventually end up with my Wreckers.

He looks pretty good in many respects, but I'm a bit "eh" on him if only because based on pics some of the black paint apps - and the distribution of them - feel a bit too close to this for me:

They're not quite that bad, but for my tastes they aren't better enough. *shrug*

I like the robot mode on that figure, but I think the truck mode could have been a bit tighter. Personally, it would have been great to see this in commander class, so he can both fit the deluxe cars and be in scale in robot mode, but otherwise it was done well. And yeah, the inner bot is pretty sharp for both Siege versions and the Kingdom version.

My one wish for the Netflix figure is that the scorch marks weren't on the parts covered by the armor. I think it would be neat if only the exposed parts had scorch marks and they matched up with the scorched marks on the armor. Then when the armor is off you can see a bit of the armor's outline against the white parts. It would have looked really cool I think.

I like how Magnus fairs with Galvatron II. Makes for a more convincing battle pair

Those shots make me glad I got the leg extensions for Magnus. He needs to be and should be taller than Galvatron.

I put most of the Magnus armor on the core robot, but left off the chest. Why does this look better than the fully armored robot?
