I was just looking at a listing from a respected Transformers seller on ebay for a metal Superion. But I can't find any information on there being a metal variety on this guy. Can someone briefly school me?

I don't think the Aerialbots and Stunticons had any die-cast variants, unlike the Protectobots and Combaticons.

Can someone tell me which parts of the planes are metal in general?

We talking G1 or CW? If we're talking G1, then go with what JelZe said. If it's CW, then we're talking bootlegs, and that's a different section of the forum.

It would be a first to see KO's of CW Superion, but I do know Power of the Primes Volcanicus and Abominus have oversized (or OS) KO's with die cast metal parts.

G1- are there some metal parts to some of the planes?

None, only the Protectobots and Combaticons had variants with die cast metal parts, mostly the robot mode chest. Streetwise is an exception as he kept his die cast part throughout his run, even the 1991 Europe reissue has it (possibly for structural reasons).

My G1 Superion is in a storage somewhere too lazy to dig out from all those mess. Funny is when I wrote a review on him back in 2009, I stated all had die cast metal. Silverbolt die cast metal is his back while all the limps are just the front chest. But the majority here said he's all plastic. I guess I'm wrong then....

Actually, I'm pretty sure JelZe's in the wrong.

My eBay searches over the years say otherwise on the Aerialbots.

And as luck would have it, there are some current examples:
Here's one
And another
In both listings, you can clearly see places where the paint on the chest has chipped away to expose the metal beneath.

Huh, what do you know, I was wrong. I haven't seen that being documented anywhere to be honest, for that matter I don't know how rare those variants are.
