A post made on the official Transformers Facebook account yesterday, as well as on the Transformers Instagram page, have both teased a forthcoming Transformers x Back to the Future entry for the Transformers Collaborative lineup that has already featured last year's Ghostbusters themed Ectotron and appears to have a Top Gun themed Maverick on the way soon as well. While no confirmed information on the details has been made available, based on the teaser image which we've mirrored below it seems safe to assume a transforming version of Doc Brown's modified DMC DeLorean time machine is on the way.



With Hasbro's Fan Friday event tomorrow at 12:30 PM EDT, it's possible we could see more information soon. Will John Barber write a crossover comic for this pair of franchises he's written hordes of books for? Could it be something besides a toy for some reason? Will Armada Megatron hop through dimensions and time to destroy it before it's revealed, or could it be that this news dropped today and you read it elsewhere yesterday, in the past, but only because you went back... to the future? Yep, another great setup for a crossover. If this ends up anything like Ghostbusters, we have something truly great in stock for us!

I'd love to see a Lupin III crossover myself.

Anyway, instant buy for me. I love those movies, and the soundtrack.

I just hope they don't try to make the head/face look like Marty or Doc Brown, like they did with those horrible Star Wars Transformers...

The timing of this is poetic; I just rewatched the trilogy over the weekend and thought how cool it’d be to have a Transformer that was a DeLorean.

Hopefully it will be better than Ectotron. GB prime was great where as ectotron is probably my least liked figure since tr stripes.

Price (for a voyager that cost leader price it would have been nice to have lights and sounds), mixed color thighs, slightly loose knees/hips, the thin upper legs to the oversized lower legs (knee pads might have helped with the knees being set quite far back), lower legs feel like they are missing transformation and with the bulkiness could probbaly have held lights and sound. Shoulders, the bonnet should have been the chest. Protruding wheels feel like another transformation step or two could hav edone something with them. the head visor not being raisable (or removable), no prominant ghostbuster logo on the front of him in bot mode. Plus I sketched a robot mode/more ghostbusters outfittish for the ecto 1 years back that looks way better and would have suited repaints for each of the real ghostbusters uniform colors.

So quite a lot -even with it having the limitations of being a retool so much more could/should have been done with it and it's enough that I'd prefer to leave him in car mode or hide him behind other figures.

Regarding the price, you're overlooking the licensing + niche markup. "Thin upper legs with big upper legs" is NORMAL in Transformers and always has been. What toyline have you been buying for the past several years?

As for the robot mode not looking more Ghostbusters outfit-ish... this isn't Crossovers. The robot mode is supposed to be its own character, not a mech/Transformerization made in the image of one of the Ghostbusters or Hasbro miraculously making your fanart into a real toy.

And finally, why would you want him to be saddled with a AA battery box and a speaker that could quite possibly get in the way of transformation and/or articulation?
