Personally, I HATE faux parts. Sometimes kibble is the necessary cost of having integrated transformations. ER Starscream's nosecone backpack is a small price to pay for having a cockpit chest, and the size and shape of Warpath's arms and legs are acceptable to me for having something close to the classic transformation.

If faux parts everywhere is what you want, then there's always the Masterpiece line. Bumblebee v2 is an abomination and the last thing I would want to see in Generations.

I can't believe we're still talking about scale either. Some of the "Legends" figures like Universe Warpath are closer to Legion size, while the TR and PotP Legends are practically a size class larger. Having bigger and smaller deluxes seems like a better solution to me, even if it is pricier on balance.

That's because, prior to DOTM, the Legion class was previously known as the Legends class, as it was originally the "Legends of Cybertron" class back when it first debuted in the TF: Cybertron line.

The name was shortened to just "Legends" from Classics onward, up until DOTM absorbed that size class into its subline called Cyberverse, in which the Legends class was renamed "Legion class" and a slightly larger size called "Commander class" (not to be confused with the modern one of the same name that now includes Jetfire and Sky Lynx) was introduced. The Cyberverse Legion and Cyberverse Commander classes were then carried over into TF: Prime, but then discontinued afterward, with only Legion class continuing into later lines without the Cyberverse sublabel.

When the Generations line entered its Thrilling 30 phase, yet another size class roughly akin to the Cyberverse Commander class was introduced and named "Legends class". Since the original Legends class had since been renamed Legion class, this new Legends class was a size larger and completely separate from its namesake, bringing us to where we are now with the current name scheme.

Believe it or not, that episode wasn't produced by the usual studios, Toei or AKOM, but an as yet unidentified animation studio. It's got several errors/differences in animation compared to the bulk of Season 2. For instance, Hoist has a different character model, Warpath's mouth vents don't light up when he talks, and his tank barrel length changes from shot to shot. So, I don't think this episode is the best to hang your hat on when it comes to making scale arguments.

Anything to keep an argument going. The movie episode, with "Moist" had him share time with all the blowhard autobots, Warpath amongst them. In that episode, he wasn't shown to be any smaller than any of the other Autobots.

In fact, in all the episodes he appears in, only Five Faces of Darkness has him at mini-bot size definitively, but he's always sort of been a 'tall minibot.' I think the Kingdom compromise works well enough.

Minibot works just as well though, tanks can be that small in real life and tank makers often have miniature show/RC versions if my memory is correct of Vicker Armstrongs or who ever used to make them locally here. Kingdoms Warpath is a buy for me but I wouldnt say no to a litte newage or mechs planet soldiers one too (which the forearm kibble would probably be handled better or given an easier pass on a smaller figure anyways).

I'm guessing the leaker saw his butt flap pop off and just assumed it turned into a shield.

I like it. The size is pretty much spot on, I wouldn't have been happy if he was the same size as Cliffjumper, but I know there's others that didn't want him to be the size of a normal deluxe so it's a fine compromise. Engineering-wise he has a nice sense of complexity compared to Cheetor (who didn't need to be that complex to begin with).

Emerje

actually i think the reviewer is missing a piece, as if you look in front of the tank you can see a opening to where a part can be, presumable part of the shiedl, and the rest of the shield chills underneath

Realized I haven't given my thoughts on the last couple figures yet, so here goes.

Blackarachnia looks really, really good. I'd argue it's even better than the MP. Bot mode looks great (though the deco isn't quite as good as the MP), and it's really cool that they made her claws 5mm compatible. Her spider mode is leaps and bounds better than the MP's. It actually looks like a spider this time (even with blatant arms underneath), compared to the MP's robot-squashed-into-the-rough-shape-of-a-spider. Definitely looking forward to her.

Warpath looks solid. His color scheme is nice and he's got some interesting leg origami. The lack of any accessories is unfortunate, especially for a smaller-than-average deluxe. Looks nice, but I'm probably going to pass.

Fixed it? But hey I didn’t make the inappropriate transformer. Just pointing it out.

Warpath is an easy pass, the generations one looks much better to me.

Not sure about the titan ark. Maybe I'll finally pass on a titan too

I'm not arguing for Warpath to be Minibot sized. I'm just saying that wanting him to be as tall as Hoist is not going to happen, because Hoist, Trailbreaker, Ironhide, and Ratchet are all taller than average characters. Warpath was usually bigger than the Minibots, but not bigger than the mid-sized Autobot cars like Wheeljack, Sideswipe, or Jazz. The size of Warpath in Kingdom is pretty spot on. He could maybe stand to be a smidge taller to be eye-level with Earthrise Sunstreaker, but certainly not any taller than that.

Y'know, for a new mold, I'll take it. Probably won't buy it unless I've got a lot of cash lying around, but I'll take it.

I've got the 2011 Generations Warpath and i am still very happy with that toy as my Warpath. he may not be 100% to scale but whatever, he's still a great toy.

Well I really love this Warpath. However I am a G1 Sunbow type guy, who also loves Beast Wars and other TF stuff. His height is perfect for me. Although he is a minibot technically, I think him, along with Powerglide, Brawn and Cosmos should be a tiny bit bigger. Also as many have said, I love the older Generations mold.

Not as Warpath though, I have that mold as the TFCC Treadshot W/ Catgut and he is perfect for that. So this Warpath fits right in to me.

Like a few others I hope Cheetor has a few more paint apps like a bit of gold, but Im not holding my breath.

First Look at Transformers Kingdom Fossilizer Figure and New Hot Rod Figure

More upcoming Transformers leaks were posted on the Facebook page of Cybertron Philippines. In one image, we have our first look at one of the upcoming Fossilizers. These are new characters at the deluxe price point, that will be the gimmick of the Kingdom line. These are transforming dinosaur skeletons that can become added armour/weapons/appendages for other characters. We can see a T-Rex fossilizer below in both beast mode and robot mode, as well as being used by Warpath.

The same leak gave us a Hot Rod Figure. This is probably the one said to come in the Studio Series line so technically this could be our first look and the line going for the 86 movie aesthetic rather than staying dedicated Bayverse. Of course, that isn't clear since Hot Rod is shown out of context from the rest of the line he belongs with, unlike the Fossilizer.

You'll let us know what you think.

Fossilizers looks like the non cartoon beast wars bots which is cool. Still not sure how the beast formers will be able to utilise them other than as hand weapons.

Hotrod looks really panelly in car mode with priority seemingly have gone to mp like bot mode. Hopefully ss86 Grimlock won't look panelly in either mode. Early to say yet on hotrod with the quality of those images but I think I'm okay with the TR one. A lot will depend on how thin vehicle mode is compared to previous line car mode deluxes.

Looks like Hot Rod's chest is fake, which I don't get. Maybe it's more cartoon-accurate, but for me, it's like a seeker cockpit--the most iconic part of both modes and the centerpiece of the transformation. I can't believe this is going to be a downgrade not only compared to TR but even against PotP.

Downgrade is subjective. I think the car looks good (if a little panel-ly) and the robot looks good. I don't care how it gets there either way. If he displays nice, he displays nice. Just my opinion, I guess I just get jumpy when the negative waves starting coming in. No offense to you.

None taken, and I am being overly critical. Honestly, since I'm not above multiple versions of characters, a cartoon-accurate Hot Rod will pair well with the TR version I have for Rebirth, and the PotP one spends most of his time as Rodimus anyway. My complaint is more ideological: given the choice between functional mode integration versus cartoon accuracy, I'm going to choose the former every time, especially in Generations. I want overly complex transformations and faux parts to stay over in Masterpiece.

I also had a really negative experience with my new ER Arcee yesterday, so I'm projecting a little, but that's a subject for another thread.

Probably just the picture, but hot rods car mode looks very...er..flat. like someone sat on him. Bot mode looks superb and I can see him being ss86 as I believe they'd be going for looking-like-they-stepped-out-of-the-screen style

Now this is a leak I can get behind! Grainy pictures that only give basic outlines. Granted, that's mostly just me because I always feel bad for the marketing department when they plan big events and everything gets revealed/stolen before their event. Hot Rod is a meh from me, but I'm excited to see how the Fossilizer looks! Guess this means we'll probably be seeing Wave 1 of Kingdom and some SS 86 at Hascon or whatever the event is called

Paleotrex looks awesome. So far, the Fossilizers are the thing I'm most excited for in Kingdom.

Don't know if it's been said here before, but according to several leakers, his head turns into Primal's face mace.

That's interesting :-?
Oh and another thing to point out is that the leaks have suggested that the Fossilizers will turn up in Core Class as well. Like the Weaponizers and modulators before them, I'm very open to the idea of them being repainted into oblivion and back :D
