Ok question: are we expecting Slammer to be a retool of either Fasttrack or Warpath? Or a new mold entirely or what? I'm mostly just wondering if he'll end up being a weaponizer.

I could see Slammer as a retool of Warpath as Metroplex already has a weaponizer, plus the vehicle mode is closer to Slammer's than Brunt or Fasttrack's. Though, if we get him as a new Weaponizer, I'd be interested to see what people make by combining him with Six-Gun

I really hope Slammer is a weaponizer, since all the other Titan partners are as well, for the sake of consistency

Pretty sure a leak said Slammer wasn't a Weaponizer and it makes sense since all of the Weaponizers (and Modulators) have had repaints and Hasbro has now moved on to Fossilizers. If for some reason they did make a new Weaponizer for Slammer then what would his repaint be?

I'm not convinced that Primal is the same size as Prime. Yeah, his legs are bent, but being closer to to the camera should make up for that. At best I would say he's a head shorter coming to Prime's shoulders.

griftimus prime wrote:what a missed opportunity. if they HAVE to be the same animals they had a chance here to make new cool looks for these animals and bot modes. like transmetals or something. there are so many molds of primal that exist already for example.

True and the Season One show designs are the most uninteresting. Cheetor's design for example, is hideous. Even the MP. By the same token, his Transmetal 1 design is one of the best in the show. Which is why my curiosity was piqued by Polar Claw, but alas. The Beast Wars toyline had far more interesting designs than you ever really saw in the first season of the show.

However, much like the G1 CHUG lines, some are never happy unless we get the same looks repeated over and over again. In the case of G1, Updated annually. Because, "better" colours/engineering/scale/whatever.
Making them look as different as night and.. later that night.

Even if they did have to stick to the show cast (ala what the MP line is already doing) leaning more into the more visceral designs of the toys would have been better. Which they kind of have with Blackarachnia's Beast Mode. However, the Bot Modes still have to be akin to the show. So in spite of the whining, I agree it is a missed opportunity. However, since Earthrise, I think the entirety of WFC has been.

I don't think counting what the mps are doing as to what Generations should do is unfair. Takara is in charge of the Masterpiece line whole Hasbro does Generations, so one should not control what thd others release and vice versa. I don't think there's anything wrong with this approach as it's the first time that Beast Wars has gotten the attention. Had this been the third attempt with beasts in the main line then fine, mix it up, but as this is their grand revival, keep it simple.

I seem to recall there was a previous anniversary line for Beast Wars. Although from what I've seen of them, they look awful. But (not comparing them in a quality sense) when it comes to this line and MP, regardless of who is putting it out, purely on a repetition of design, it is like...

The anniversary of Beast Wars doesn't limit the designs to season one.

The 2006 line? That was just the old 1996-1998 molds, plus the Cyber Key-compatible Primal and Megatron toys.

Yeah, that's the one. With these things:

As far as WFC is concerned. A modern update to the Transmetals would have been a lot more in keeping with the rest of the line.

Alternatively WFC consisting of the Original Beast Wars roster could have been a better way of acknowledging the anniversary.

Yeah but to be blunt, Hasbro doesn't care about Takara's Masterpiece line. However, something important to consider. We only know the full retail breakdown of the line. Amazon exclusives could still give you Transmetals.

Also something else i didn't think about before. Using Season 1 designs makes it easier for Netflix when they get around to animating it, they won't have to waste time explaining why some of the cast are in s1 bodies and why some are Transmetals etc

Then there's also the comic to think about...

Plus, let's not put the cart in front of the ox. Beast Wars S01 first.

Then I'm pretty sure the next trilogy will go full Beasts. We will see the Transmetals and even some Beast Machines.

I doubt that. Transmetals are more than just redecos. No season one design even shares the slightest visual cue with their Transmetal counterpart. Barring some faces.

I'd rather not >:oP

Cynically, I don't see WFC being the swansong to the G1-fixation of the past few years. As many of us might have hoped.

I don't know about that. Studio Series will take over for a while. This may allow Generations to explore new grounds. It will still remain "mini MP" for a while. I'd love them to revisit the Unicron Trilogy.

I would love to see something done with UT, Animated etc But, I mean this year is the 20th anniversary of Car Robots and, in spite of COVID, they’ve chosen to all but ignore it in favour of more G1.

Bad news everyone: According to Pixelmaster on TFW (another credible leaker):
No trans metals
No Terrorsaur, Tarantulas and Inferno unless Kingdom does well
No show (mainframe) accurate retools, at most it’ll be in the same vein of Walmart 35th
The toy head in leaked copies aren’t in the final toy because toy BA is in selects

So it would appear that we won't be getting the whole S1 Predacon cast unless it sells well, and the alternate faceplate finally has an actual home

On the optimistic side, im sure kingdom will sell well. There are plenty of BW fans and im sure even non-BW fans are gonna jump on that leader Megatron
Plenty of g1 fans are likely to get cyclonus, galvatron, and earth mode magnus as well

Its been a very slow transition but im hoping the generations toyline is headed in the direction of beast wars

Interesting, but not surprising. Any more rumours about comander class?

Didn't one of the leakers finally declare that it's Rodimus Prime?

Not all bad news though as

No Terrorsaur, Tarantulas and Inferno unless Kingdom does well

That potentially paves the way for one of them being the next Beast Wars MP. Personally looking forward to all three of these in that line.

Plus, as mentioned before, in light of Starscream, Cyclonus and Waspinator. I wasn't expecting Terrorsaur in Kingdom.

I believe one of the leakers confirmed it's just Rodimus Prime woth a bunch of accessories, but don't quote me on that cause I think it was said in the SS86 thread and I mainly only check out Kingdom's for leaks

As I said earlier, who or who isn't in Kingdom doesn't have any bearings on who or who isn't getting a Beast Wars Masterpiece figure. In fact it's entirely possible that Terrorsaur could getba Generations figure the exact same time as getting an MP. Takara don't care about what Hasbro does with Kingdom, the same as Hasbro don't care about the Masterpiece line (other than the Movie Masterpiece line of course)

I don't see how what comes out in one line has anything to do with what comes out in the other. They are 100% mutually exclusive.
