Comparison shots of different G1 flavored Arcee figures

Here's a few shots of sever different versions of Arcee in G1 colors. A few people wanted to see some comparisons between Earthrise Arcee and Titan's Return Arcee so I did those and a few more. Nothing too fancy and I didn't take any with the weapons as I didn't want to deal with all that as I didn't have a lot of time.

Thanks for the shots! That's a lot of Pepto right there. The only one missing is the NYCC version of Prime Arcee. I mainly wanted to see the size difference between ER Arcee and TR Arcee. I would still like to get my hands on a TR version, even if it's not accurate. Looks great in both modes.

That would be that pink FE Arcee, second from the right. The regular Prime Arcee was blue, tho the RiD one was lighter than the FE :)

Call me weird, but I find it interesting that T30 and ER Arcee are like opposites: T30 has the better kibble but worse Robot Mode, ER has the reverse going on.

As odd as this might sound, I've felt sorry for Arcee for the longest time. They try doing the sexualized robot mode and she ends up with horrible kibble and backpack issues since most of her vehicle mode ends up on her back.

What is worse to you about the Thrilling 30 Arcee robot mode? It looks pretty good to me, especially in Takara's super screen accurate Legends deco.

My main gripe is how much the thighs are sticking out, really.

Thicc thighs save lives, honey bunny. ;)

Oh yeah. I'm blind.

I like the TR Arcee robot mode and vehicle mode the most. She might be a bit bigger and blockier, but I think it looks better.

It's an unpopular opinion, but I concur. I'm quite fond of that mold in general. Its slimmer profile, while not overtly feminine, makes it a good fit for more athletic characters who need to be quick on their feet. The alt-mode kibble is well distributed across the figure, and the Arcee-specific parts create a decent adaptation of her G1 alt-mode. Her face and helmet are nicely updated, and she has the best firearms of any of her figures. Hasbro didn't skimp on the paint apps, and she looks like a legit Transformer, not just a girl with half a car hanging off her backside.

TR Arcee is what she looks like when not being forced to resemble a Barbie Doll Transformer.

I maintain the Animated design is one of the best- I love how it stays feminine without being dreadfully kibbly with touches like the nicely shaped backpack and the "bell bottom" legs.

One that was already slender enough to work for either gender, and made even more slender for its use as Arcee.

Not really. Shoulder to waist to hips ratio is quite obviously male, which is more important than just being slender (there are slender men and curvy women after all). It just doesn't work. And that's before we get to the fact that with her windscreen chest being designed like the G1 character model she ends up with a see-through top!

So does every Transformer in history that has a windshield or window chest.

Yes, but most TFs with window chests don't have their chests made to look like a woman's chest. As is it looks like Arcee is being rather...shameless.

I'll also say I'm not a fan of TR Arcee. I have a lot of G1 flavored Arcees, including a few deluxe sized 3rd party versions, and I just couldn't bring myself to get her.

She's Blur. Blur can cosplay Arcee pretty well, but TR Arcee is still just a pink Blur in a line that used that mold far too much already.

I'm gonna agree with Black Hat in that Animated Arcee is the best designed G1esque Arcee. She's recognizably Arcee in both modes without an embarrassing backpack. And she does retain a feminine shape without needed a large backpack. Really, future Arcees should be modelled after her transformation rather than try to make the original's happen.

Well, most toys of G1 Arcee herself - especially new-mold ones - are going to end up with that to some degree because Floron the Moron Dery gave her human-style legs. That is her cross to bear, design-wise.

Blackhat, I think trying to apply the shoulder-hips-waist ratio rule used on human designs (and even there I think it's dodgy) to transforming robots is dumb and overly-limiting. :P

The TR Blurr mold comes as close to Arcee's robot silhouette as a more blocky robot can, while also coming close in vehicle mode. So as far as getting Headmaster Arcee without an entirely new mold, TR Arcee is the best we can do. And I think she pulls it off pretty well.
I think it beats the pants off using Chromedome like was floated in the '80s.
