A new idea for seibertron.com

I just had an idea to add a new section where you can post video reviews just becuase its coll to actually see the transformation on camera the galleries are great but well watching the transformation on video reveals alot more.

Meverix (i think) does reviews of tfs on YouTube, vuagly remember seeing Ryan ask him if he'd like to do that for Siebs in another thread, dunno if anything has come of that though.

Has. Ryan's got all he needs to set it up, and I'll be a member of staff once its all up and running. The only difference is the new videos will FEATURE A BRAND SPANKING NEW SHINY SEIBERTRON.COM LOGO!

Its not a bad idea and I'd volunteer to help out as staff for the Video section too, but the technical aspect of it, is what worries me.

How to compress and code the video to something distributable.

We would not like a 200Mb video that's only 5 minutes long, because it wasn't compressed. Or a video format that can only be played by the submitters Camera.

And we would need some kind of centralized video player, like Youtube has so that visitors don't need to have every single codec and video player ever produced installed on their system to watch the reviews.

Probably just easier to use youtube and have something of a button that links to our youtube account like the msn button and yahoo button on the profile bar, if they can make a skype one then it probably be easy enough to make a youtube button.

Ryan asked for the urls of my current reviews, so I believe he'll be embedding the code from Youtube into individual pages.

Cool i had a good idea. Ill help try to get stuff up if you give me a page to work with.
