RM Victory Saber!

Just got me some Robot MAsters Victory Saber and boy these little guys are awesome.
I only have the g1 Victory Leo, not his combiner counterpart, so needless to say I had a lot of questions concerning "why does this part come off," or "what the heck does this do?" All of which got answered by having these less expensive remakes.
I got the e-hobby versions with the awesome decepticon color scheme.
I love my OG Victory leo, and these guys are just so much fun! I had no idea Wing Saber was a powermaster!
If you don't have these figures, I suggest them highly. TFsource has more and they're pretty cheap.
If you DO have them (or the originals), share the love! LC

He's not (and it's Star Sabre

). Star Sabre is a Brainmaster. It's kind of a Power Ranger esq idea where the lil guy is essentially elevated into the head component. That's a rough approximation of the whole concept, but it's close.
For your own good, do NOT insert Star Sabre's sword all the way into his hand. It will break.
Otherwise, yea, I guess they're alright toys. I wanted them really really bad when they came out. They just pale in comparison to the originals so much, that I never really got around to loving them.

Hey, thanks for the info! I knew you'd respond, because you were the only one to congratulate me on my vic leo from botcon!
BTW, on the RM package, it is sabER, but I'm sure the originals are RE.
I can't believe you don't still loooove them. Yeah, they're pretty small, and some of the plastic is that cheap rubbery stuff, but I guess I'm not as jaded since I've only been collecting for 'bout a year.

...I'm not. I think your spelling of it is correct. I've just seen it as 'Sabre' so often I think I became convinced that was the correct way in his case.

I have the KO's of these two, and I think they're awsome. Not too posable, but a ton of fun. Lots of combinations too, and for some reason I love Victory Leo's jet-ish mode.
And Star Saber's trailer can transform into a base similar to what the original could do.
And also, that isn't Star Saber's Brainmaster that's actually Saber. It is the same size as Star Saber's Brainmaster though.
Star Saber's also one of my favorite characters, so that's a plus on why I think they're so cool.

Put short:
Saber = American English
Sabre = British English

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's Star Saber, but hey, it doesn't matter anyway, it's Japanese translated to Engrish, err...English.
You can get the cheap KO's pretty easy here in Tampa, FL. They are in all of the Big Lots, Family Dollar, and Dollar Generals. I was making the rounds the other day and say them everywhere.
I still want a G1 Vicotry Leo, however, I would settle for the KO of it(actual size). One day....

These figures look really cool and I'm happy you got them and like them. I'm still looking for a set myself. I want the original colors, though the decepticon colors look nice too. I'd rather have the original toys because they're bigger and probably better quality, but they're too expensive. Maybe some day Hasbro will adopt these characters as their own and use them in classics. The molds are there they could just scale them up to deluxe or even voyager size.

That KO is harder to find than an original.

I know. I was watching one on eBay about a year ago. It went for $150+, for a friggin' KO! Oh well, I only want a KO 'cause I have a KO Star Saber, but if I had to get the Orig. what a shame

The big lots by me closed down. How is the knock off quality?

Mine are of rather brittle plastic that feels very weak. The sculpt and paint are just fine (though my Star Saber KO wears Decepticon logos) but they are just damn fragile. Transformation and combining can be done, but great care is needed.

I like the Robot Masters versions since they're all I've got of them. They could use a touch more articulation but they're ok for what they are. I keep hoping for reissues of some of the more ridiculously overpriced G1 guys, these included of course.

I agree, some of the way they retooled and redesigned those figures is really quite nice.. I own BW Convoy, Lio Convoy, and Optimus Prime so far.. but I love their look, it's kinda basic, and its not exactly altmode accurate at times, bbut the ultra posability and likeness to their cartoon counterparts is uncanny..!!! I keep hopin for a Big Convoy and a G-1 Megatron, a cute little gun...

You misunderstood.
There is a knock off of the original Victory Leo that isn't really a "knock-off" at all. It's the same quality, just different. Olympus made the toy and the only way to tell any real difference is by the trademark stamp.
Like I said, it's hard to find.

Thanks guys! Found a ton of of star sabers at family dollar. Bought 2, only $6. I spend more on lunch. Beats $40+ anyday.
Maybe I'll go back and get more star saber sets and give them to people.

Funny you guys should mention this now. A week ago I won an eBay auction for a used RM Star Saber Victory Leo 2-pack w/box. It came to $33, with shipping, a steal if you ask me.
I think Victory Leo is cooler than Star Saber, but that is just me.
I should have the set in a week or two.
