Ah, lighting in the pic I glanced at made it look darker than it does in the others. I was meaning closer to the grey used for the Legacy Dinobots, not the gunmetal grey

Not surprised, but still disappointed that SG Hot Rod uses the voyager and not commander mold. The voyager just isn't that good a mold, while the Kingdom mold is the best WFC figure. I'll still get it, but like Goldbug, I think there were way better options.

Grimlock, for instance, is really good

I had to check on Pulse, but it seems SG Grimlock don't come with a SG Wheelie.

A shame.

I had to check on SG Wheelie and turns out he does exist, sorta. No new colors, though.

'Twould have ruined SG Wheelie's physique if it had been made from that dinky little figurine. SG Wheelie is supposed to be a big beefy barbarian warlord.

WHAT?
Not that Cybertron Crumplezone mold!

But the toy was never made, right?

Nope. Illustration only, just like many other SG characters who never got toys but still had bodies based on real toy molds.

Interesting.

Too bad so many of them will never be made.

And as for the purple redeco of Arms Micron Jigu, The inverse logic there was that, where normal Wheelie fights against Sharkticons, SG Wheelie fights with a Sharktigun. ;)

That silver paint is SHARP. Surprised they went with that instead of just white, but it really looks great.

Not bad, I'm generally not into SG versions but this one kind of looks neat. Though it is a bit too simple just being Raider colors and a hint of purple. And I'm not really digging the head sculpt.
While probably accurate, it just lacks a bit of pazazz. Particularly at their prices.

If Grimlock is any indication, the lack of exclusive-cover comics means that Shattered Glass prices are now just the exact same as retail prices.

Those comics that few care about were sold at a premium. Like, around 10$US for a single chapter.
Good riddance.

That's nice for Grimlock. lol

But some of the others I was interested in being around $10 more than their basic counterpart is why I ultimately passed on them. Case in point, I really like the looks of Slicer but $49 for a DLX Bot???
Yeah okay it also comes with some other "Exo-Suit" thing that I don't want which pads the price, but at best it's only the price of a "Core" bot which still leaves $15 unaccounted for. IMO

Same for Flamewar, a Neat looking Bot but not a must have at almost double the price!

Blurr was a little better in that regard since it was basically Voyager priced, I just wasn't a big enough fan of the character where I felt I need an alternat version of him.

So I for one would like to see what is essentially just a repaint of an existing mold sold at more reasonable prices as their initial release.

Haven't most of the SG figures been available at deep discounts during the Pulse sales? Really the only excuse for not getting them is just not having money on hand at the time, they were more than affordable.

For Americans, maybe.
But for Canadians, the high shipping costs offset most if not all the savings.

The Slicer set is legitimately the only SG set with zero markup whatsoever, they made a 2-pack of Deluxes and they sold it for the retail price of a 2-pack of Deluxes. Exo-Suit is an ER Fasttrack repaint, that's a Deluxe.

Right, that's what I'm saying, that is what is happening this year. Grimlock was just retail price, Rodimus should be retail price, and the other 2-3 mystery SG releases we're getting are probably also gonna be retail priced.

Not all of them were include in said sale, or were conveniently sold out. I managed to snag Goldbug.

For me there is a distinct different between affording something and willing to buy it for said price, my view is the latter. And I don't buy just anything simply because I can afford it, it has to be a "justified" purchase for the Money I'm spending. Maybe I'm just a cheapskate IDK, some might call me that and that's fine. The reason I can afford stuff is because I'm not frivolous with my Money.

Didn't know that Exo-Suit was a DLX release from whenever, so I guess it gets somewhat of a pass. However, was it a DLX from the old days when they were under $20 or later when they are now $24?
Because to me it looks like a $15 toy max.

I'll probably break down and buy it at some point and just sell that off for something, I hope, because I really like the deco on it!

NP and Sabr are right on the money with their info.

Set turned out a lot cheaper than expected for a Deluxe, a Voyager and a Minicon. I thought it'd be at least $65, not $55.
