I assume that would men Ratchet later? It'd be weird to release one from a two pack and never the other. Unless they're doing the Voyager mold later... :-?

Not sure, only thing I heard was that its part of the ongoing process of re-releasing some form of as many Optimus Primes as possible for the 40th anniversary

I hope it's true. I want SG Prime, but I didn't care for that Ratchet mold, so I never got that set.

If SG Prime was sold separately, I'd consider buying it. But this is a case where it's not worth the extra cost and messing with an unwanted figure.

SG Prime and Ratchet are sold out already at Pulse, even at 60$US.

My local geek store sold them for dirt cheap at 70$CAN. And those who found the set at Winners for 30$CAN were even luckier.

Since it's a Selects release it's available pretty much everywhere online (aside from Amazon).

It's also more expensive than the first release.

Higher price, but the same price point accounting for price increases. They originaly came out at $50 when deluxes were $20 and voyagers were $30. With deluxes currently at $25 and voyagers at $35, the $60 price makes sense.

Yes, but it's still based on a mold from long ago which by now has been more than paid for so this is juts gravy. And that's likely why they chose to do this, as well as the ER Prime reissue. Trying to soak anything they can from outdated molds. lol
Likely to help pay for the new Commander Prime.

The "It's based on a new mold" is a dumb argument.

By that logic, any G1 reissue should be free.

That's not how business work.

Not what I was suggesting at all. But there's no reason to charge today's prices for yesterday's stock. I noticed that Jetfire is still the same price that is was four years ago for some reason...
Or is that simply because it's merely leftover unsold stock from the last reissue?

None of this is leftover unsold stock (It couldn't be since the original release completely sold out years ago), it's a brand new production run of new stock. That's how reissues work.

Also the original price for Jetfire was $70, the reissue is $90, the current CC price point.

Chain quoting to say that yeah, those are new production runs.

The old stock were clearanced at Winners/Marshall's and the like aeons ago.
And thinking about it, that's unfair these were clearanced like yesterday's trash because everything would have sold at full price eventually. Too bad the bad distribution gremlins are always at work.
