I will gladly get right on that...sometime tomorrow, when I've slept and it's no longer almost 2 in the morning and I can more coherently recap the weirdness of that whole thing to y'all. I-)
Or at the very least, you could post it in the Rumors thread.

Character-wise, that is. Molds are still unconfirmed.

They are Soundwave, Blaster, Ultra Magnus, and Wheeljack.

Well anybody that’s not interested in SG but wanted a G2 Slicer or Micron Legend Rampage and a Powered Convoy should be happy about that.
I said nothing of that. :???:

Yeah, sorry, mixed cup my SG color schemes.

Maybe, but not for certain. We've had a leak say that Laser Optimus Prime is coming and that would make for a better fit for SG UM's more familiar second alt mode. Hard to predict exactly what they would do, if series 2 is announced and released anything like series 1 then we're probably a whole year away from series 2 beginning to be released so they could easily release a Laser Prime in the Spring or early Summer and SG UM not being released until early 2023.
Emerje

In the Blurr issue of Shattered Glass, Magnus' silhoette was that of Siege/Kingdom/WFC.

Haven't read the comic yet (haven't even opened the Pulse box yet) but that doesn't necessarily rule anything out. In the original SG he was a reuse of Universe UM (white Armada "Bendy Prime") before he had his mouth plate ripped off in an attempted coup on Optimus and eventually got his more recognizable Diaclone colored "Laser" body. The comic could do the same thing, beat him down, strip him of his armor, and rip off his mouth plate leading to him seeking new body augmentations that aren't so easily removed.

Best to lower your expectations to just a wfc redeco, then that way, if it does turn out to be a legacy laser Prime redeco, you can be pleasantly surprised.

I agree with that sentiment since it seems everything with this series is pre-planned. Shattered Glass Blurr looks nothing like he did as a toy previously. Not sure why Magnus has to look like a toy from 2011 - there's also no Leader Class figure in the line so far and I suppose the WFC version would be 'ideal' for that.

I'll go on record as saying the WFC Magnus would be my preference - if his face is ripped off, fine. If it isn't fine because then he could be Delta Magnus, an obvious repaint they just won't do for some reason.

I'm generally optimistic, but that doesn't mean I actually have high expectations. I'm very much a "hope for the best, plan for the worst" type. We don't have a mold that looks much like Armada Blurr so it isn't a surprise they went for the G1 mold, they at least got the head right. Goldbug, well, there's a bunch of reasons why they didn't use the Hot Rod, mainly them needing a Deluxe mold to work with. I'd say that so far they haven't missed the mark as badly as they would if UM is just a Siege or ER repaint knowing full well the right body was is right there in the pipeline.

SG Megatron was from Siege Megatron instead of the more obvious Kingdom Galvatron, so it stands to reason that Magnus will be a Siege/Kingdom redeco as well

Using Kingdom Magnus for SG Magnus gives Hasbro the opportunity of releasing 3 characters with one figure and only requires an extra head in the box.

Delta Magnus, Powered Convoy and SG Magnus. Doubt they'd pass that up.

Using the WFC mold of Ultra Magnus for the SG one does provide an interesting idea; We've never seen his trailer in the original SG story, right? So what if he used the Siege or Kingdom cab, but the Galaxy Upgrade trailer?

Delta Magnus and Powered Convoy are one thing, but I don't think they'd make a SG Magnus that can double as Delta, that would be a missed opportunity for them to milk the mold even more. It wouldn't just require two new heads since the Siege/ER UM heads aren't made to be removed and swappable, but also a sheet of faction decals. I don't see that happening any more than I see them including a sticker book with SG Wheeljack. As much as I like SG, I'd rather have Delta Magnus and Slicer.

Oh well, we probably wont actually see these until next summer anyway.

If the recent leak is true, I'd be down for a Shattered Glass Ultra Magnus, either the War for Cybertron mould or the upcoming G2 Optimus would work for it. I'm more excited for a Soundwave because there aren't many Shattered Glass Decepticon toys so far, bonus points if he comes with Ravage.

SG Magnus ha no visible faction symbols in robot mode. Only one on the side of the truck mode and the rub sign.

Delta Magnus has some red symbols on the trailer and the shoulders of the inner robot.

While Powered has no symbols whatsoever since... well he predates Autobots and Deceptions.

Would it be very terrible if the autobot logos on the cab and maybe the inner robot shoulders were red instead of light purple? Would it somehow not be SG Magnus without a purple faction symbol?

The head replacement option is a simple modification. If they were able to modify the headmaster gimmick on Mindwipe to make it a permanently attached head for Draculus, I'm sure they can do the reverse and modify the head on Magnus to make it removable.

They did much more than that for Megatron. So adding parts and retooling is not beyond the realm of possibility.

Also, it would only really need to be the inner robot's head that has to go from emaciated skull face to regular. The armored head can be the traditional Magnus head.

Also as has been mentioned none of the SG releases so far have been exact copies of their Funpub selves, so no reason to expect Magnus to be that accurate to the original.

I think a lot of people would consider a figure with completely wrong faction symbols to be a HUGE problem, especially in a line where the faction symbols are often the only difference between two characters.

The head replacement option is a simple modification. If they were able to modify the headmaster gimmick on Mindwipe to make it a permanently attached head for Draculus, I'm sure they can do the reverse and modify the head on Magnus to make it removable.

There's no such thing as simple modifications when it comes to making molds. Removing Draculus' and Super Megatron's headmaster gimmicks meant entirely retooling the chest and adding hinges so that the heads can hide inside their bodies now. That isn't simple and far more than anything we've seen in SG so far where at best we've had new heads (at least one of which they'll use later for a G1 Goldbug) and a bunch of accessories for Megatron that don't require the figure itself being modified. SG UM would either require two new heads, one regular and one removable, be it the internal head, armor head, or both if they're going for double duty. Alternatively they could use one head with two faces that sandwich over the neck peg, either way it's a lot of extra parts and it's hard to predict what Hasbro thinks is worth the tooling.

They did much more than that for Megatron. So adding parts and retooling is not beyond the realm of possibility.

He only got all that because he was a Takara Tomy Selects, only time Hasbro does anything that excessive with an exclusive is the crossover stuff because of the chance at a cross sell between fandoms. Definitely not going to see anything like that in SG.

Also, it would only really need to be the inner robot's head that has to go from emaciated skull face to regular. The armored head can be the traditional Magnus head.

If they're going for his most recognizable look it would really have to be the armor that has the damaged head since that's the colors he's known for. Plus his inner bot will also be blue, it wouldn't be white so things are that much more confused.

Also as has been mentioned none of the SG releases so far have been exact copies of their Funpub selves, so no reason to expect Magnus to be that accurate to the original.

Megatron is off, but they put a lot of work into trying to make it right and they'll probably use the armor again some other time to make it worth it. Blurr isn't the right body, but they don't exactly have a second use available for the mold and there aren't any molds that suit the original SG look currently so at least they gave us the right new head. Goldbug will definitely be reused as G1 Goldbug in Legacy plus they needed a second Deluxe for the line, not a third Voyager if they went the Hot Rod rout. Starscream and Jetfire are perfect as far as I'm concerned.

While I like this in concept, I crave SG Grimlock too much to agree.

Although how would you count Sideswipe for this, assuming they preserve his turncoat status for the new canon?

We have been sent a list of upcoming toys for 2022 and we are breaking them down per line. Of course, since we only have listed names from ordering sheets and no actual listings, you should take these with a grain of salt.

This list below is for the Shaterred Glass line. As we've seen so far, all the toys are redecos of molds from the same non SG character, even though a different mold would look closer to the original source material.

While the amount per case adds to the validity of this post, it doesn't really help most people as these are online only figures packed in solid cases.

Tra Gen SG Dlx Wheeljack x8
Tra Gen SG Voy Soundwave x6
Tra Gen SG Voy Blaster x6
Tra Gen SG Ldr Ultra Magnus x2

If you want an idea of the deco for Soundwave and Blaster, check out the original release below.
