Not to mention, this was all already established in the actual movie Jurassic Park. They called the T-rex a T-rex despite all the dinosaurs on the island being female for safety reasons. The robot being a female makes sense in this regard. T-rex is simply the name of the species.

Yes, because Tyrannosaurus Rex is a scientific name. Those are specifically chosen to be static and immutable, to avoid confusion and always be sure you're talking about the same type of being. That's why they're in latin: It's a dead language, so it's guaranteed not to change with usage like common names do, because, well, nobody speaks latin in their everyday life. It's dead.

I don't know why the word Rex is a sticking point; the name is just boring. IMO.

Being female fits well with the JP franchise. TBH, my only issue with that is my issue with the toy itself - in robot mode it looks like Megatron. I've been spoiled by more extensive remolds to sell me on new characters based on existing molds. But I get it. The remold money went to JP and that was the right choice.

Well considering they were all retools except for the Maverick from Top Gun, I don't know if we will. I mean CW Hotspot was reused Many times, Ectotron was just the most extensive one. IMHO Maverick just looked kind of "cheap", I mean I wouldn't put it past Hasbro to try to use it again, but not sure what they would use it for. Most of their Earthmode Jets are all voyager size currently.

Anybody else getting Armada Red Alert vibes from JP93?
I know some people pointed out it seems to possibly share engineering with the 'Datsun' mold but I can't help but very much seeing this being slightly retooled into Red Alert.

Looks amazing. The thighs look like the come from Trailbreaker, but the rest of the figure seems to be entirely new.

Also, is it supposed to be Muldoon? Or Allan Grant?

Try living in Japan, where we have only got the B2TF crossover (with the Top Gun version incoming, but who wants that one, right?).

I just hope a 3P add-on kit comes out, including:

- A toilet-cubicle, with split-opening action feature, revealing a terrified lawyer.

- clear read "sploosh" styled goat bits (can attach to Dinosaur mouth like SS G1 Grimlock) for "gobble-gobble" action!

- packaging with lock, lenticular animation and voice chip that says "Uh, uh, uh, you didn't say the magic word..." You'll need the right password to access your toys!

- etc.

It looks like Amazon might have already sold out their pre-orders, but Pulse seem to sort of have it available for pre-order at some point in the future. Right now it only give a like to email you when it becomes available. Might be worth looking at for anyone who missed out from Amazon.

Because seriously, that's 90$can for the leader with just a new head, and 65$CAN for the deluxe (who at least have the retool that matter).

Let's see if the thing will sold out soo at Amazon.ca and if they'll overproduce the thing like all the other X-overs (except the Top Gun one.)
If they did, it will be on sale and down to a more "normal" price soon enough.
