Sound waves combine in this TRANSFORMERS-J Balvin mash-up pack! “Reggaeton’s global ambassador” joins the DECEPTICONS as the TRANSFORMERS robot, J BALVINTRON. This DECEPTICON wields the power of rhythm to crush his enemies! The 7-inch tall Soundwave-inspired figure converts into cassette player mode in 6 steps and features deco and details inspired by J Balvin – including packaging inspired by J Balvin’s rainbow color scheme and his iconic smiley face icon with lightning bolt eyes. He comes with two mini cassette figures, with deco inspired by albums “Energia” and “Vibras”. The Energia Buzzsaw converts to condor mode in 4 steps, and Vibras Stripes converts to tiger mode in 3 steps. The figure also includes a blaster accessory and two rainbow blast effects.

Balvin, who is a diehard TRANSFORMERS fan and watched the classic G1 animated series as a kid, had a huge part in making this unique collaboration happen. From his love for tigers, which inspired one of the mini-cassette figures with a strong big cat resemblance, to naming the figure J BALVINTRON.

The blaster appears to be a redeco of half of Siege Jetfire’s blasters, as well as recolored versions of his effect parts. Interesting.

Neat,I don't know the artist but a Frenzy/Rumble could act as a part of the musical performance this figure is implied to be having.

My goodness! This one's gonna be SO hard to get hold of. Let's hope we beat the scalpers to this one, guys! Looking forward to viciously refreshing the pre-order page at 8.59am on July 13th along with anyone else upgrading from their hasbro masterpiece.

Toxic sarcasm aside, I don't get it, so I won't be getting. A tired old mold that everyone already has, stained with clip-art. For 70 dollars, they could have given the artist a bit more freedom (absolutely drench it in clip-art), with all the tapes and a nicer figure (ER Soundwave). Just another exploitative cash-grab.

Sorry, still salty that the UK release of the Jurassic Park set will cost £125 ($170). Obviously no offence to anyone and glad the artist and G1 Soundwave collectors got the opportunity.

Stripes, you TRAITOR!

I want this for my G1-sizes cassette collection. Even though I dismantled that display last year. I wonder how many TFs there are that look like KOs.

I think Stripes is the clear loser from this set. Part of the fun of a new G1 styled cassette is getting a NEW cassette.

Now, as an old person, I understand how all the kids felt when they announced the Draculus crossover and went . Still I asked my teenage kids who this was, and they had no idea either so there is that...

Why didn’t they use the new Netflix Soundwave mold instead? G1 Soundwave has been used so many times already. Let that mold rest! If they had used the new Generations mold, we could have gotten a modern “Micromaster” Stripes to go with the upcoming Kingdom Blaster. This is a huge missed opportunity.

Not liking the price mark up yet again but I'm liking this funky colored Soundwave so he's definitely a want even if he will be too pricey to pick up. Any G1 or MP soundwave is always tempting.

Unlike the Linkin Park limited edition Soundwave, I doubt this version will appreciate much on the secondary market.

Unless you are a massive fan of J Balvin and transformers which seems a rather limited crossover niche... don't see many people buying this.

It's an odd combination to stay the least.

I saw a seller on eBay who specialise in customising (KO?) G1 Transformers into "music labels" versions, complete with custom boxes too. But at least, he choose TRUE classics like Metallica. Not a bunch of nobodies.

Pretty much my thoughts. I've never heard of the guy, and I don't care about the rainbow head, but I like the cassette repaints, and this Soundwave mold is probably my favorite G1 mold after Shockwave.

I will call him "Sunwave."

Even though I already have Encore Stripes and a KO white Laserbeak, and a yellow Soundwave is just another blown opportunity for an official Marvelous purple Soundwave...yep, sold.

Sigh.

You know what this REALLY makes me want though? A Cyberverse toy of the Quintesson scientist. He had at least one yellow in his collection.
