Walmart had more Velocitron Deluxes but they Sold them to Liquidators

This is unfortunate. As anyone could guess, there wasn't really a shortage of Velocitron toys, at least not at the manufacturing/distribution level. Instead, Walmart botched their stocking of this line and eventually dumped it on liquidators. We know this because these Walmart exclusives, including Cosmos, are now showing up at Ross. Also unfortunately, it took a while for this news to be far reaching, so odds are your local Ross is already depleted of that stock which has been scooped up in voracious fashion. The entire first wave of the line was spotted at Ross, that includes the deluxes, voyagers and leader class. Sightings have been sporadic, but we have confirmed sightings in Daytona and Vegas. The photo below comes from Ultra Reverb.

The prices are $7.99 for deluxes, $8.99 for voyagers and $16.99 for leader Scourge.

I visited a local Ross in Springfield, Mo and found three Universe Scourge. It would have been cool to find a Cosmos.

Congrats to those who manage to find him and others.

That really sucks, I looked for these a lot and now see I never truly had a fair shot at finding them at Wal-Mart. I never have a problem getting exclusives for any other retailers.

The Cosmos debacle is essentially what turned me off of hunting in brock-and-mortar stores, at least when it comes to Walmart exclusives. The thought of even trying to scan my local overstock stores makes me ill.

I still want a Cosmos really bad, not enough to spend over triple price, but still bad. This is very annoying to know that they should have been on shelves. Which I still would have probably not seen, lol. I even had a friend in England check multiple times because a store there had full cases, and nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated if someone finds an extra.

A kind fellow Seibertronian sold me a spare copy of Cosmos, and that was a wonderful thing. I guess I'll have to make the minions check Ross to see if there's a "Galaxy Shuttle" there - that's another figure from the Velocitron line that's been impossible to locate.

We all suspected that Walmart had bungled things with the Velocitron line. Popular figures like Cosmos and Galaxy Shuttle completely missing, while choking the shelves with unwanted figures like Blurr and "Road Rocket". If Walmart took a bath on these, they deserve it.

Wasn't Galaxy Shuttle only sold online and not in stores though? Isn't that what made him more sought after? I know I got mine online and never saw a single one in any stores.

He only showed up in Walmart stores in Canada.

There were plenty to go around too.
Thus, why all the Canadian scalpers on eBay.

There's not really any scalping, nor any money being made. The toy is $90 when including taxes, and canadian sellers were selling him for $120 USD shipped. After paypal fees, there was no money to be made.

Plus, is it scalping when every fan in Canada had a chance to buy him at retail?

Anyways, to confirm what was said before, Galaxy Shuttle did have a US release but it was online only.

Correction: TRIED scalping.
Do not forget the eBay fees. These are HUGE. Plus, those are charged on shipping as well.

But the fact the huge availability was only in Canada is key and what lead to said over priced secondary market. Had it been more available in the U.S. at a lower price I don't think we'd have seen such a high markup, over here it was only $25 so at most you'd see an increase to $40-45 US which is an easier pill to swallow than $80-120.

I got lucky I hit 1 ross today and they had 4 Scourges, bought one. I haven't bought a TF since MP Ironide. For $16.99 why the heck not.

Galaxy Shuttle was only $25 in the US?

I checked a ross around here, but they didn't have any of the velocitron stuff. I think at most they had one buzzworthy three pack, I don't remember what it was.

I was speaking about Cosmos, because that one has been in the $100's for a while now.
