That price though... ouch.

Well, I prefer a higher price for a figure that not like an ice cubes tray.

Seems like these G. I. Joe collabs are much more expensive than they need to be. Aren't they the only ones where Hasbro isn't paying any extra licensing fees?

Yeah, they've all been a little nuts. The problem is, for whatever reason, Hasbro values those old-fashioned o-ring Joe figures at like $20+ each. Which is INSANE, but they were selling 2 packs of them with some extra accessories for $42. They're probably adding another $30-40 to the price of this, when Soundwave is really just a leader class that maybe warrants a SLIGHT markup for being an online exclusive.

This thing was announced the same day the Hasbro GI Joe team confirmed new o-ring releases were on-hold (likely due to poor sales, because come on, $42 for two o-rings?) so lots of Joe collectors are understandably a little miffed by it.

Also, TWO cobra figures this time around? Sweet!

And also, the Ravage that came with the SDCC set with Baroness. NICE!

That bot is also not a pile of kibble cancer. Impressive!

 :BANG_HEAD:

That's not the same Ravage. It's a Masterpiece Ravage!

I find it baffling that they actually include MP Ravage instead of the non-transforming one. So he better be able to store into Soundwave's chest in both modes. And if he can, that will be the last justification I need to pay full price. :-?

Here's what it said in the description:

CONVERTING RAVAGE FIGURE: Includes a Ravage figure that converts from cassette mode to Jaguar mode in 10 steps. In cassette mode, this figure can fit inside the Soundwave figure’s chest

So unless they're lying I'm going to assume Ravage will fit inside Soundwave and that it also transforms.

Might be explained in G.I Joe somewhere, but why does the Thunder machine have the front section of a 1987 Chevy Montecarlo?

It doesn't. That's a Trans Am grill.

And the reason is because the Dreadnoks take their inspiration from the Mad Max films.

Thanks. I can see the resemblance to a 79 Trans Am.

The Megatron HISS was 30% off for Prime Day, so I finally picked one up. No way I was paying $90 for this, but for $63, I'll risk it.

By all accounts, the robot mode is pretty bad, but the vehicle mode is pretty good, so worst case I've got my first HISS and o-ring Baroness to go with my GI Joe collection.

I added the filler pars and the Reprolabels to Megs. He went from "bad" to "good enough".

Who was it sold through? I ask because a while back it was on sale for $50 and I bought it only to get something completely different.

I don't know if it was the seller playing bait and switch or an honest mistake/incorrect listing.

He said it was on Prime Day.
Meaning from Amazon in on of the two days of sales for Prime members last Tuesday and Wednesday.

I got the leader SS The Fallen for the price of a deluxe this way (counting the 20$ I got from Prime Photos.)

Not everything sold on Amazon as part of Prime Day was actually sold by Amazon. Of the six things I bought at advertised Prime Day prices, only half listed Amazon as the seller.

That's splitting hair because that's still bought at the Amazon site. It's not Target, it's not eBay, it's all the same thing.
Unless there's scammy sellers on Amazon too?

There's definitely scammers on Amazon. But getting the wrong item could be a matter of someone put the wrong item on the shelf at the warehouse. Things become more questionable if the seller is also the shipper rather than shipping by Amazon.

My SS86 Leader Starscream was PRE-CRUSHED before being put in a pristine Amazon shipping box. And that was an official Amazon purchase. So I guess anything is possible.

There's also some knock-offs on sale from 3P sellers at Amazon. And they are usually more expensive than AliExpress. And too often, the "KO" is not specified in the listing.

So, yeah...

There is absolutely scammy 3rd party sellers on Amazon. Though I had not heard of them getting linked with Prime Day deals. I got it from actual Amazon though, not a 3rd party, so I'm not super concerned about it.

Review for GI Joe Transformers Soundwave Dreadnok Thunder Machine

The GI Joe Transformers Crossover Soundwave Dreadnok Thunder Machine figure is currently shipping from Amazon so some fans will be getting theirs soon. While it is sold out there it may still be available at a variety of other collectible retailers and if you are curious as to how it turned out we have some video reviews for you below. They come from our very own Chuckdawg as well as Emgo. Enjoy!

chuckdawg1999 wrote:Somebody at Hasbro must be a big fan of the Thunder Machine because this Crossover set came out great! Transformation is inventive with the leg transformation being a real highlight. While I would've preferred Thrasher, it's great to have Zartan and Zarana in the Retro style, maybe we'll see more Dreadknocks? While the initial price might seem a little high, I don't think this set will stick around like the HISS Tank and AWE Striker so you can pay a premium now or a LOT more later.

That Soundwave is pretty damn awesome but 150$can plus taxes is a bit ruff. Paying for it would be a bitch. So I'll just sit like a good boy for a sale.

Gotta laugh at the fact the font tend is an officially licensed GM Pontiac front end.

Logo and all on the Box.

You laugh.... I, on the other end, cry instead. Hasbro's tricking us by paying like $.25 per figure for the license so it can charge us $20 more.
