Apparently the next one of these is an Optimus Prime that turns into a MOBAT tank, with a General Hawk figure (would assume that means V2 of Hawk, since V1 was only a colonel).

This will be the first time ever that Optimus would transform into a tank. An altmode that is usually reserved for the :CON:

I don't know how I feel about that one.

Eh, he's been a tank before. Actually kind of precedent for this in the Joe/Transformers crossover history. Cobra made him a HISS tank in the Image Comics days, for example.

That is some pretty hardcore reference right there.
But it's a precedent that still count, despite a non-exitent toy.

The closest we got in toy form are the trailers for Star Convoy and Armada Optimus Prime.

I bet that this Joe Optimus will still have his truck chest despite his tank mode.

Prime as a tank? May as well, I guess. These gotta fit the budget, so it's not like he can be something that might be more appropriate. Hopefullly they learned from Megatron's mistakes and don't try to shoehorn in the G1 color scheme too much where it doesn't belong.

But what happened to the Kup leak? Did it get scrapped?

MOBAT Tank Optimus Prime Toy Coming along with 86 Blaster and More

Thanks to JTPrime17 and Silver Optimus, we have word of several upcoming Transformers figures due top found listings.

The big one would be the next crossover figure with GI Joe being Optimus Prime as a MOBAT tank with a General Hawk figure. That means it would probably be the second version of Hawk since the original Hawk was only a colonel.

There is also news of a Studio Series 86 Blaster which will be Target Exclusive and simply a repaint of the Kingdom mold (so the same thing we saw with 86 Cliffjumper). You can discuss more about that figure here: https://www.seibertron.com/energonpub/studio-series-86-discussion-p2174642.php#p2174642

We also have listings for an unknown type of toy called Mixmashers, here are the codes:

TRA MIXMASHERS BASIC FIGURE STARSCREAM
Product Number: F9732

TRA MIXMASHERS BASIC FIGURE OPTIMUS PRIME
Product Number: F9733

TRA MIXMASHERS BASIC FIGURE BUMBLEBEE
Product Number: F9734

TRA MIXMASHERS DLX FIGURE MEGATRON
Product Number: F9736

TRA MIXMASHERS DLX FIGURE OPTIMUS PRIME
Product Number: F9737

There is also an Amazon Mayhem deluxe two pack and Prime Changers from the Transformers: One movie. What's interesting about those Prime Changers is that they have a street date of August 1st, which helps us know when we can expect the shelves to have Transformers: One product.

Okay, this does make more sense with the general theme of this crossover, but we'd better get a red Megatron HISS Tank retooled into Op at some point.

Also, pairing him with Duke would make more sense since he was the Joe leader who "died" then got better thanks to complaints from kids and their parents about Optimus Prime's death, an interesting interaction between movies intended for release a year apart. Though I could see pairing Duke with Prowl, if not what vehicle he'd turn into...

Will it be a straight rerelease of Blaster with Eject? Or will the price get bumped up and we get Rewind as well and perhaps even Ramhorn and Steeljaw?

Straight repaint for Blaster. Don't expect anything fancy.

I wonder if they will let us have some Tom Scioli designs?

If the Studio Series can get Concept Art designs. I don't see why this line couldn't have comic book stuff?

They already released a Duke and Cobra Commander retro O-ring two-pack. If I'm not mistaken, all of the retro O-ring figures in this crossover line are new.

I was actually hoping that Optimus would be an APC. I envisioned it working like the original toy where the top would come off. Simple transformation too. Rear of the vehicle his legs, middle section his arms, and the the head being tucked inside the cab/chest. Only problem with my idea is his back would be totally empty just like the G1 toy.

The REPROLABELS FOR SOUNDWAVE are now available. This set will make quite a difference for his look.
Now, if only Toyhax would bother making the Bumblebee set...

I suppose the MOBAT makes the most sense for Optimus simply because it's roughly the same size as the HISS Tank. I know some people wanted the Mauler, but it's probably a little too big by comparison. Plus I'm guessing the MOBAT barrel will act as Prime's gun, can't really do that with the Mauler's barrel.

Let's see people complain that Prime isn't motorized.

I wonder if this means the next Joe HasLab will also be the MOBAT since in 2022 both Megatron and the HasLab campaign that year was the HISS tank. :-?

I still regret not getting that set from Target.
