I don't know if anyone has ever brought it up, but just how are these things made anyway?

Long assembly line with someone snapping a head on, and someone else snapping another piece on? Sub assemblies all brought to one person that snaps them together? Does anyone have pics of toys being made?

I think it'd make a good feature for that How It's Made show on Discovery Channel. :)

I've wondered that myself from time to time. I can see where both ideas could work and have also thought about the How it's Made idea. Thing is, they won't go past Canada for footage.

Still, you can break down and reassemble some of the more complex figures fairly quickly with the right tools, it certainly doesn't require more than one person to do the job. They may just have giant piles of parts and each person simply builds out a certain number and then ships them off to packaging.

All the same, maybe if you wrote in to both Hasbro and Discovery one of them would pick the idea up. Worked for Megabloks, though again... Canada.

This would be an excellent choice for that show "how it's made"

I don't think "How It's Made" would dare show footage in a Chinese sweatshop.

That explains the crappy loose joints.
