Uncovered Mysteries: The first version of Blaster's tapes

Not sure if this goes in the toy forum or the cartoon forum as the subject covers both. In the article linked below, I go through the new evidence provided by my recent haul of G1 scripts. Revealing that an early version of Blaster's tapes that survived multiple rewrites of TFTM, were in fact due to be the earliest 1986 product promoted in the TV series, ahead of the four combiner teams:

As for the questions of how far the Lion/Tiger/Scorpion/Robot team progressed through development at Takara, and what prompted the late change to the Lion/Rhino/Robot/Robot Team? Those remain unanswered.


Actually Takara had prototyped some of those for Diaclone. It's possible Hasbro had penciled them in as Blaster's tapes because they were already started on before deciding to move to some new designs.
