Transformers Earthspark Toyline Discussion

It has been a long time since Hasbro has shown this much confidence in a new show's toyline. They are giving it a marketing push unlike anything we have seen in a decade (neither 2015 RID nor Cyberverse ever got this much attention) with a big presentation at SDCC and a reveal of a new toyline. They have a full breakdown of the toyline, showing the various classes and revealing the gimmicks behind them. It is very varied with a return to form for traditional type toys in some classes and completely new gimmicks in others. Also is it just me or is that shot of Megatron giving some IDW Lost Light vibes?

Check out the info below on the various classes followed by the images:

Revealed today at San Diego Comic Con! Transformers: EarthSpark introduces a new generation of Transformers robots - the first Transformers bots to be born on Earth. With 5 scales in the line, there’s something for everyone.

Convert and pose out new characters and fan-favorite bots with Transformers: EarthSpark Warrior Class and Deluxe Class!

Forge a connection with Transformers robots like never before with Transformers: EarthSpark Tacticon figures that convert around a finger!

Fun in every flip! Convert 1-Step Flip Changer figures from robot mode to alt. mode in 1 exciting step by flipping the bot in the air!

Bring the human and bot connection from the animated TV series to life with Spin Changer Bumblebee with Mo Malto!

I love Megatrons alt mode
That Terran switch character is pretty interesting

And that deluxe Bumblebee looks pretty good. May just have to pick that up and throw it in my generations collection

Even the 1 step wheeljack has a better torso than wfcs haha. Only really liking the Drone thing with the cthru plastic, could be some kind of rid 2015 fixit use for me.

My only major dislike is that simple change boxy optimus that reminds me how really bad simple 80s robots were better than most of these simple changers (motorised robot line or I might be thinking of something else). There's probably happy meal toys that have looked better. Some times things can be dumbed down too much.

This is all very heavily stylized, which is fine for a cartoon toy line but I personally don't know that I like the style.

The red flyer has major RB:A Whirl vibes. And she is close enough to facial proportions I am going to throw her in. Bee and the Seeker feel very much like they were ported over from Cyberverse.

I love Megatrons alt mode but the head doesn't sell it for me. Mega0lex maybe?

That red drone guy is my most anticipated toy from this line.
At last, something FRESH! :APPLAUSE:

Is the gray one Megatron? Because if yes, he became "younger" and "sexier". Maybe he finally took his rivalry with Starscream a bit too seriously and became part-seeker. :-?

Bee is pretty great looking and I'll be adding the deluxe to my hive. Too bad it's the giant one who come with the human minifig and she can't even ride the vehicle. Too bad that last category is not similar to ROTF's Human Alliance. But we have to consider the main target audience for that line obviously.

Optimus and Elita-1 are a big FAT "meh".

I'm looking forward to see this line on the shelves.

Terran reminds me of the Diagnostic Drone from Beast Machines Image

I find the Cyberverse Seeker reuse...interesting. It doesn't look like it has any new improvements, seeing that the legs still look as limited as ever. But hey, hopefully I'm wrong.

The rest do look quite snazzy and the more kid-oriented figures look cute. The finger puppet ones seem like they'd be some nice fun.

I do quite love the Animated-inspired Megs alt mode! Looks like something I'll snag, and could maybe pretend to be "Legacy 'Animated-Universe' Megatron" for my Generations collection, hah! The resemblance is just as dubious as some of those Prime figs, eh? ;)
I might also pick up BB and Terran, Bee's alt mode feels like a really nice change of pace from the Camaro alikes and Terran is something fresh.

I assume the character's name is "Twitch" and that "Terran" just denotes her birthplace, since that seems to be a key plot point for the series.

At least this time around, Earth will actually have a human population instead of being a creepy no-mans-land filled with ghosts like in Cyberverse.

With the exception of the drone one, this is another "easy pass" line which is fine. Makes it easier to save my cash for the MPG trainbots.

OK, time out for a second- I have major misgivings about the show itself, and the gimmicky stuff is just that, but the "older kids" figures look...actually good!?! Twitch looks like a fun little toy, Megatron looks nice even if he is probably way too small, and that Elita I might actually buy over the Legacy version (I want Minerva from that mold). Top marks Hasbro, you did good.

That twitch figure is looking really nice, wonder if it's destined to become a windblade? Megatron and bumblebee are also looking really nice, but god damn that face on optimus is rough :HEADHURTS:

I think Elita 1 is the Windblade.

And yeah, Terran is the new "faction" of Earth born robots. The Terrans are integrated into their human families so their full names are Twitch Malto and Thrasher Malto. I suspect this is Hasbro's way of using common names while still getting a nice unique trademark combination (even though they seem to be using Terran Twitch instead).

Twitch looks like a promising figure and I'm glad we're getting Deluxe figures again. Really curious about that new Cyberverse Seeker repaint, it's like a mashup of Skywarp and Thundercracker. I don't think anyone was expecting anything more than a new Cyberverse style toy line but I'm glad we aren't getting less.

This is cool. I even see some recycled Cyberverse. The Bumblebee figure looks perfect, now Cyberverse Bumblebee goes down the drain. (Just wish we could get a g1 Bee :( )
Megatron reminds me of animated. But why is Optimus not a flatnose! There is no disadvantage of being a flatnose, it means less kibble! If I was a kid, I'd likely think Optimus was cool and unique for being a flatnose, because we dont see much of those anymore.

Interesting stuff there. The deluxe bee looks nice. Wonder If they’ll want to release him in blue like with Prime and call him Hot Shot.

Megs has really different Alt mode. Kind of like it.

Terran Twitch looks really nice. Might have to go out and find her.

Tell me, there’s going to be a deluxe Wheeljack.

Prime is super bland.

And that dark Starscream, is just straight up Animated SS.

Same. But at least it doesn't have a mouth like it will in the show!

Skywarp is just a straight redeco of Cyberverse Warrior class Starscream. LAZY!

The three Deluxes (Twitch, Bumblebee, and Megatron) look great, though.

No mention of the Mandroid Build-A-Figure?

Skywarp is not lazy, he never was in cyberverse. They had to complete the t r i o (even if the base mold is bad)

You are correct.

Not a fan of that Prime either but he's par for the course in the way Hasbro's been treating the character in the kid show toylines. Face us extra rough this time though.
Wheeljack has the same design as the SS deluxe one that's currently on shelves, so just grab that one. It's one if the best Wheeljack toys ever made.

SS? You mean this guy?

How are they even remotely similar?

I would go for Authentics if I could find him anywhere.
