Why does everyone like deluxe Bonecrusher so much?

I read so many positive reviews. What is it about this figure?

I find the lack of elbows distracting and the arms always want to extend when I dont want them to. I can't find the automorph and there is HUGE piece of kibble on the backs of his arms.

Is there something about this guy that I am missing?

But can you explain? What makes him good?

I'm not a fan of the figure nor character.

The vehicle mode isn't that interesting. Ok, it might be a baddass vehicle in real life, but the toy is just plain lame. It's ugly and the lack of paint apps doesn't make it look better.

The robot form is just hideous. Some kind of robot Quasimodo with extending arms.

I don't know, personally I wasn't impressed with the figure.

I have no great love for the figure, but I also don't neccesarily dislike the figure. I think his arm's are a bit weird but that is about it. But at the Wal-Mart here in Lynnwood there about 20 Bonecrusher's....they are the only deluxe figures.

I don't need a scientific study to convince me to buy or not to buy a figure. If I like the way he looks, moves, transforms, etc, then I'll simply buy him. Bonecrusher may be small like Brawl, but he's a neat guy. He has lots of detail, goood articulation, his arms extend, no automorph that can break, or get out of whack, and he is a solid toy. Simple as that. No cheesy gimmicks. His claw works great, and he looks mean like he should. I'm not going to play with him, so it doesn't matter to me on some of his lacking features, and kids will enjoy him because he's rather docile.

Where is his automorph?

the only thing i heard good about bonecrusher is that he got a lot of articulation points other than that i dislike his size and not really the character and the paintjob well i actually blame hasbro for that they do lousy paints and cant paint the toys with mettalic silver wissh black wash shadow effect...

For those of you who don't like Bonecrusher

can I buy yours? He's NOWHERE to be found around here. Got every other movie TF except him and I really want him.

I hate him. He's the least favorite of the movie toys that I bought. I've got him hiding on my shelf behind Dreadwing.

To be honest I was not very impressed with him at first. Then I began to fiddle with him more, and he's now one of my favorites.

Like Sportimus Prime said, the is just no BS with this guy. He is the most alien-looking, and has tons of playability. I can get him in some pretty great poses, with or without extended arms, the claws can be manipulated to just about any configuration, and he has built-in skates, like in the film.

The claw is also designed so BC can overturn cars while in alt-mode. He's just wonderfully designed overall, but it takes some patience to get him looking like the monster that he is.

My only real gripe with him is the scale-issue...I want him in Voyager class at the minimum, but he is still a worthy purchase as a stand-alone Deluxe.

i partially agree he does look unique at some point and alt mode is really cool too bad he got like 90 secs. official screen time...

That's the Netherlands for ya

here, toy stores (well, all types of stores) are much smaller, not even near the grand size of Toys R Us. That's the only US toy chain settled here. My local Toys R Us moved out to make room for some redundant electronics store and now I'm stuck with small Dutch retail, whose Transformers section is usually the size of one nightstand. I've seen and drooled over pictures of your giant epic masses of TF toys, with plenty of figures I really want (Swindle, Dreadwing, Bonecrusher) just pegwarming because no one in the US wants them.

With so little space avaiable in Dutch toy stores, they tend to order only a small fraction of any given line.

No Leader or Supreme Class Cybertron figure ever saw retail here, sake for Cybertron Primus fortunately

Alternators? Never saw a single one. My one Alternator came from an overpriced comic book shop, whose TF section is otherwise forgettable.

we got a grand total of 5 deluxe Classics (Mirage, Grimlock, Cliffjumper, Ramjet and Astrotrain)
only one Voyager Classic (Jetfire)

four Real Gear Robots (Spy Shot, Power Up, Speed Dial and Longview)
I had great luck in finding one single Blackout, never seen any other again. Ratchet is extremely rare, as is Leader Prime. Deluxe Brawl and Barricade are considerally short-packed. Got my sample of each and saw them disappear within a week.

Well, I live in the land of overlook, also known as London. So I can't even find Starscream at the moment let alone series 2 deluxes...

I'm dying to find Swindle & Bonecrusher.

{If any Central Londonites have noticed them hiding away anywhere please, please let me know. Much Thankings.}

But getting back to the topic, I really like the look of him. The lack of painted detail on his face is a downer, but overall I really like the look of him. However a voyager would be cool.

P.s. First ever post! Wooo!

I own Bonecrusher. I love him. He looks fantastic, super posable, great detail.

To our foreign friends, if you want Barricade, Swindle, Starscream, etc...drop me a PM. We have plenty at the stores around me, I'd be more than happy to help clear out these damned shelves.

I really don't like Bonecrusher. I don't like his alt mode ( too narrow looking, painted windows, just look like a toy and nothing more, unlike some other deluxe figures.) and his robot mode looks like a mutant cyber squid. To me, he his one of the worst looking Transformers. But, he is sturdy and highly posable, so you can do alot with this guy. I heard that a voyager version was coming ? If so, he might be worth picking up for other reasons than the posability.

But for now, he's on the pegs, and no one is picking him up here and I don't think that it will change all that much.

And he's found wanting on the other side of the ocean.

I never understood why toys are so concentrated in the USA, up to the point they start shelfwarming until they're put on clearance (Something which rarely happens at Dutch retail)

I like Bonecrusher. His bot mode makes him look like a no nonsense bruiser, ready for anything. I agree for the toy, the alt. mode doesn't translate so well. It's too narrow. But I love that bot mode.

I own Bonecrusher. I agree with some people that his alt. mode suks, but in robot mode he's cool. He has good articulation and he has that claw on his back that could crunch cyber-optics.
Even though he got OWNED by prime in the movie :-? , I still like him. But there is a lot of kibble on the arms.

Got our hands on a Bonecrusher today. Few complaints right off the bat.

1)His claw arm has fallen off a few times already. That cheap little peg just doesn't have enough grip.

2)For some reason, his back wheels won't straighten out in alt. form. They always have an inward tilt to the front section. It's quite dumb looking.

And unofficial complaint, he's much too small, but he's a deluxe and that's all they chose to give us, so I try not to hold it against him.

You're not missing anything in my book. Bonecrusher is hands down THE shelfwarmer in my area because he's fugly. Every other deluxe, voyager and leader class figs are flying off the shelf and leaving alot of empty space.

I love the thing. Mean looking, giant crusher claw that actually grabs other TF's, cool multi jointed arms. For me, the upsides outweigh the downsides (scale, kibble, etc.) Any fans of 80's cartoons might remember a show called Inhumanoids where armored humans fought giant subteranian monsters. Bonecrusher is a dead ringer for Tendril the plant monster. Especially the arms. Look it up and you'll see what I'm talking about.
