The Chinese company Fool's Paradise is making a series of large statues featuring popular G1 Transformers characters are football players. These are official statues in collaboration with ZW World website. They are 41 cm tall and ready to order for $430.00 shipped worldwide (the statue itself is 350).

It is interesting that they give Optimus Prime a mustache, probably as a nod to Peter Cullen.

This would've made more sense while Calvin Johnson was still playing.

Make them Funko-Pop sized at around 20$ each and I may consider buying some of these novelty statues.

I think it's a fun vibe but uh...not sure if it's 400$ level of fun. I do agree if it were smaller (and of course, cheaper) it'd be a wacky novelty item to get...

A+ for creativity. I think it looks really good, for what it is. I mean, I'd only buy it if it was like a squeeze toy...no need for a statue, but still, really cool design.

What kind of niche market brings together, Football fans, Transformer Fans and fans with $400 bucks of disposable income to throw at this, that still makes it profitable for anyone?

And it appears there's Starscream, Megatron, Bumblebee and Soundwave in the future. But not, Ironhide or Grimlock which would make sense as big bruiser football players.
