He looks amazing. I'm not even into Armada and I think Tidal Wave is a fantastic choice. He might be the last Titan I get due mainly to space. Unless they make that hypothetical Quintesson ship.

My wife signed off on this purchase when she watched me fight him in the PS2 game years ago.

I'm anxious to see him in a line up though.

Interesting. The base mode doesn't look that good but I'm glad it has it. If wizardry can be worked into toys then no reason it shouldn't be at this size and price. Liking all the other modes but hoping that they have some kind of play gimmick with smaller bots (like the landing ships seats and the lift on the old toy). It could still be a case of the old toy being better but the size has me on this alone where as I skipped omega from the old toy doing a lot more.

Looks like I was right (a rarity haha) on it including parts to add to megatron, not sure it includes enough parts though. I still don't want to buy that megatron so I'll have to see if they can add on to original armada megatron. Would be nice if the parts turned into a bot weaponiser style.

If they release a ram jet for tidal wave that will be a definite buy for me as long as it isn't just a repaint of core rotb guy in power suit (which might work well enough for it)

And here I was hoping for an "affordable" Unicron with a "good transformation"...

I can hear his boss theme play after seeing this.

Am I missing something, or is this just simply a scaled up version of armada tidal wave?

I am missing innovation.
Like many legacy figures, especially in the armada line, I don't see how this improves on the original.

Glad I’m not the only one who instantly thinks of the Amara’s Ps2 game. That game was, and is still a masterpiece that holds up shockingly well.

I didn't notice this before, but apparently Ben Custom Toys had more of the Hasbro video posted. This was on TFW2005 and that sure is an awful lot of moving parts for simple snap on armor. Could they really be including a smaller Tidal Wave in this set that scales taller than Leader Megatron? The part on his back that forms the legs takes up Megatron's entire back and then some. The part to the right would form the arms it's pretty massive and the part to the left would be the torso which is a little flat, but seems rather wide. Looks like Hasbro is still saving some secrets for later but that's one heck of a bonus!

For starters it has knees...

(BTW, changed the topic title because I was tired and kinda goofed by posting the news to this thread instead of the Legacy thread so this'll be the official thread for Titan Tidal Wave similar to what we do with most Masterpiece figures. Thankfully we had talked a little about a potential Tidal Wave in this thread previously.)

Called it 2 years ago.

Next prediction:
- Titan Overlord
- Titan Fortress Maximus (not a retool)

This Tidalwave looks amazing! Glad he has a wonky base mode, I love basemodes!
Just a great character for a Titan.
<3 to the Playstation 2 game, still great!

Is there some story where Overlord would make sense at that size? I feel like he has a lot of Commander class potential, but is too simple for a Titan.

Agreed 100%. I hope we get a toy colored version maybe in Selects. We did get Black Zarak and Omega Sentinel so it's possible.

As for Overlord, he would not make sense as a titan, but a commander would be perfect for him.

So, there’s a secondary smaller Tidal-Wave inside hus torso. No doubt thus is the one that actually combines with Megatron.

Small Tidalwave

Still sad there’s mo Ramjet though.

I suggested in the other thread they could have made Ramjet instead of this smaller TW and have that combine with Megatron. It wouldn't have been exactly like the original but it would have made more sense.

... with Ramjet included. I'll see myself out now.

The way I see it, Tidal Wave combining with Megatron has made canon cartoon size-changing an official toy design problem for Hasbro and TakaraTomy. So extra parts can't be avoided. If anything, it's similar to Bandai's approach with their mechs.

See my post above. It's the same one and the other parts are hidden in other areas of the figure and does seem to form a full smaller bot. Personally I prefer this to including Ramjet for a few reasons. First and foremost it would be a pretty large Mini-con to make sense with him, but also there's no reason why they can't make one later like they've done with nearly all of the other Titans' extra partners. Since they aren't likely to make a second smaller Tidal Wave on his own any time soon I think it was smart to include him like this.

It does make me question why they had to remove the Mini-Con from Cybertron Metroplex because it wasn't in the budget if they could include a second entire Tidal Wave with this one. I guess he got a bigger budget.

At the very least, if Hasbro never makes a Ramjet for Tidal Wave, DNA Design probably will. They made a Drill Bit for Cybertron Metroplex.

I'm proud of Hastak. He looks great! Tital Wave deserved a toy of this size.

Day 1440 of waiting for Transformers Armada Masterpiece news.

Yeah. They are giving us 2 tidal waves for the price of one.

Maybe TW is going to be more expensive than Metroplex.

Only if the standard price for Titans has since Metroplex.

I agree with Overlord. However, are there any giant Transformers characters left?
Cyberverse Titan ... Croaton? Or whatever he was called.
Animated Omega Supreme (not going to happen).

Still a big ass tank and a giant black jet with a lot of headmaster interaction Overlord Titan would be cool.

What I'm really really really curious about and nobody asked in this thread....

The little minicon benches inside his lower leg parts. Does this Titan have the seats so that little bot dudes can have a cup of energon tea and discuss the day and how they conquered another country.

It stands a little bit more of a chance now that we have Prowl, Prime and Bumblebee. He'd still have a slightly non-Animated look to him, though.
