A new Transformers Collaborative figure has been revealed, this time it's the Universal Monsters Frankenstein themed Transformer known as Frankentron. This new toy uses the War for Cybertron Trilogy's Impactor tooling as its base. It also makes for a great companion piece to last year's Dracula crossover figure. You can check out images of Frankentron below and if you like what you see, preorders are available now at Hasbro Pulse and all the other usual online Transformers retailers, including Amazon.com as well. Frankentron's release date is shown differently on several outlets, so collectors can expect to have this figure in-hand either very soon, next January, or some time in between those.

Ok yeah, he looks great and I’m OVERJOYED at another entry in the Universal Monsters line (Creature from the Black Lagoon next please!). But is it just me, or is it a MASSIVELY OBVIOUS that a Frankenstein bot should be a multi-pieces Weaponizer? Like you can swap parts, literally Frankenstein style. Will be getting this guy if I can, but I can’t help feel like we missed on something greater.

You are not alone. Truly a missed opportunity.

So, I guess, Brunt + some other parts? Yeah, that woulda been pretty cool, actually. Mighta upped the price by a lot, though. Plus, how easy is it to make just a part of a Weaponizer figure as opposed to the full figure?

But, yeah, that woulda made this figure pretty great.

I'm guessing maybe a general tank 'former probably suited the bill for a big, lumbering monster that can do the whole "arms outstretched" look better than the Brunt mold due to the lack of proper hands?

Did he ever do that in the original novel and/or movie tho? I mean I get the principle, but previously mentioned Autobot X would have been far better to get that across. Speaking of which:

It's been done

I just noticed a nice touch on the new hands for Frankentron. The Impactor mold doesn't allow for wrist swivels, so they oriented the new hands 90 degrees different from Impactors hands so that you can to the Frankenstein pose with the arms outstreched and the palms facing downward.

I'm also thinking the Impactor mold was chosen becuase it is basically the tallest recent deluxe and should scale well with Draculus.

This Frankenstein look FANTASTIC.

Plus, the price is the right price this time around. In Canada, he's priced at the voyager price point, so that's perfectly reasonable for such a special edition.

Previously, Dracula was priced as a LEADER for some bizarre reasons. No wonder the thing was found on clearance for ages... at the voyager price.

Franky-tron looks real nice! I like how he turned out, even if I am not big on him having Con symbols.

He will go great with Draculus!

Now, more monsters?

It is a little strange that they decided the finishing touch on him is giving him one of the largest Decepticon symbols in franchise history. Maybe the ToyHax set will cover it up somehow.

I saw it immediately. But when even the Wiki says it, make that retool happen HasTak!!!

Just picked up Frankentron today. I really like him. I thought about it and a tank really does suit Frankenstein's monster if he had to have a vehicle mode and the new accessory adds the finishing detail to make it work. I probably could have waited to pay a better price for it, but I'm not that guy. He's a cool collab.

You never know with these colab figures. Some linger forever and go for cheap while others sell out.

There is a HUGE difference between Frank and Drac.
The base price of Drac was more expensive than a freaking LEADER. Many people just nope'd. Even on clearance, he's a few bucks more expensive than a voyager. So that's why Drac can still be found on shelves to these days.

Frank on the other hand, have his base price at the much more reasonable voyager price. If he ever come on clearance, he'll be deluxe priced. This mean that Frank may completely sell out much more quickly and there's chances that when Frank is completely gone from the shelves, there will STILL be some Dracs around.

That's why I preodered my Frank from Amazon. At voyager price, it's acceptable, plus I had a 20$ off due to how stupid I am with my credit card.

That's for Canada. I got mine for $22 when he came out from Target.

That was surely the clearance price. Target is weird and often put things on clearance as they just come out. No way 22$US was Drac's normal price.

One thing is sure though. The price difference was humongous for the collaborative figures for a long time for some reasons between the USA and Canada.

At least for the recent ones like for Frank and even the JP set, the prices are about the same.
Right now, Frank is 35$US and that pretty much match the 48$CAN price, while the JP set is 10$CAN more instead of 40$CAN more compared to the first JP set.
