From the Hasbro Pulse stream today,

The 2 packs are getting a pre-order window today, as a limited release though to ship sometime in December.

Then won't be available until much later at regular retail.

Soundwave is so lanky and thin, its. not even funny, and yet, I kind of like him.

Love his SUV mode.

I only like the Optimus and Bumblebee from these sets

Starscream has a cool jet mode but I already have Armada and ss86, I don't need another one

Optimus looks awesome. Love the axe

Bumblebee is a cool design but still looks a little off to me. Love the alt mode though

Soundwave *sigh* I love Soundwave. He's my favorite decepticon. And I'm cool with the alt mode. But the limbs look all spindly with a big awkward chest and weird neck. Just seems like this weird fumbled mess which is a shame

The Optimus and Soundwave set is very, very tempting, but I don't know if I should go for it. Optimus looks fantastic, and while Soundwave's robot mode looks very awkward with his lanky limbs, I love the vehicle mode. As much as I would like these two, I feel as if I should wait until we know more of what is coming in 2024, namely if the next Studio Series Commander really is Optimus as many have speculated, and what exactly the Legacy United Leader Soundwave ends up being. But of course by the time we know all of that, this set could be sold out and very hard to get hold of, depending on how many people want them.

I agree with all of this
If the game becomes popular enough im wondering if the figures in these 2 packs will see individual releases at some point anyways. Isn't there supposed to be a line coming out that releases new figures of all the popular characters like Optimus and Bumblebee and all that?

I pre-ordered Prime and Wave, but am holding off on SS and BB. I'm hoping they'll be released later in some way, even individually. We'll see.

But I have to say, I do like that Starscream. I'be all over a Slkywarp or Thundercracker repaint though.

Reactive really is going to have some great toys. I preordered both sets, I love them both. They look REALLY good

Yes, they said it was the only chance to get them “for the time being”.
Suggesting they may be available again, probably closer to when the game gets released.

I doubt this is the only time we’ll see these.

It may be the only time they come in a 2 pack though. But we’ll see.

I agree, more or less. I think these are going to be the equivalent to a "main line" release and we'll later see these figures again in Studio Series Gamer Edition with whatever tweaks the games have given them since these are likely based on early game renders.

Hopefully if they do give these the SSGE treatment they'll make Soundwave a proper Voyager. The current figure is a tall Deluxe that's basically been stretched out to make him really only a little shorter than Prime.

So limited they won't be getting an Australian release.

Yes, these specific two packs are limited releases. The toys can be made available individually later, probably with a slight deco change (like a clean deco)

Comparison between Reactivate Soundwave's Toy and Game Model

Fans were disappointed when yesterday's stream revealed nothing really new. It was, however, our first good look at the Reactivate Soundwave toy. And the reaction to it has been... not great. We now have an image of the game model (which is itself based on the evergreen design) that was used to design the toy so you can see where all the details came from. You will let us know if the proportions are better in the game model or if the toy is being faithful to it.

We also have official images of all the reveals below along with listings for where to get these. The listing on Amazon claims both Soundwave and Prime are 6.5 inches high, but Soundwave appears much shorter than Prime in the reveal video (also found below). Since the Soundwave/Bumblebee bundle is a voyager and a deluxe, it would make sense that the similarly priced Prime/Soundwave bundle is also made up of those two classes, making Soundwave more of a deluxe class. The toys are said to be more complicated than the typical deluxes/voyagers found in the toy aisle. Also, these boxsets are limited releases.

While I shouldn't be surprised, $63 for each seems high. Probably shouldn't if each one is a voyager.

They look good though

Starscream and Optimus are Voyagers. Soundwave and Bumblebee are Deluxes. And these two-packs are also limited releases.

I don't get the criticism of Soundwave here, since when is it unattractive to have a big chest and long legs

Sadly, $63 is not that much higher than what retail prices are now. At retail, a deluxe and voyager now go for $60 so this is just $3 extra.

I don't like the limited edtion stuff, reminds me of first edition Transformers Prime toys which sucks.
I hope the game is just a good single player game and not some digital for windows live online "experience" nonsense. The trailer gives a good vibe, but we need gameplay footage. They say it releases in december, that's december 2024 right?

I only criticized it when I thought they were stretching him out to make him look taller, but now seeing he's pretty much the same proportions as the game art and he isn't full of hollow gaps from behind I'm totally sold on him.

I find the whole "limited" nature questionable, feels like false scarcity since they're still available everywhere this many days later. The way they were telling people to hurry and buy them made it sound like they were only being produced in small numbers, hence requiring the small price markup.

I'm sorry, but when I see these bots designs, and especially for Soundwave, all I can see are candy apples.

Image

Huge bubble torsos atop tiny lanky legs. It's ugly. The in game designs are much better.

And the worst is that each of these 2 packs are a whopping 100$CAN EACH!
For 15$CAN more, I have two more deluxes with the BWBB troopers 4 pack!

Hard pass unless there's a clearance sale.

I preordered the 2-pack and really like that Prime. My only complaint is that his back has that hollow section where we can literally see and touch his spinal cord. Looks like a fatal design flaw. What would keep Megatron from reaching in and just ripping it out?
