First Listing for Transformers Hotwheels Toys

Have you seen those licenced Hotwheels toys in stores? They have some for x-men, Mandalorian, dc heroes and the like. And now we will have some Transformers as well. They will be in 1/64 scale, so the standard Hotwheels size we know. The difference between these and Jada toys is that these would not be the Transformers characters in alt mode but instead, like other Hotwheels licenced toys, be cars with the character's logo or image on it. And that's evident with the fact that aside from the Beetle, none of the other cars are typical alt modes of Transformers characters. You can see all the car brands used below.
These are supposed to come out in April and should retail at the same price as any other licenced Hotwheels toy. Here are the details from Tom's Modelauto store:

5x HRV61 1967 Austin Mini vasn
4x HRV62 Volkswagen Classic Bug

Odd, wasn’t that Jada Toys schtick?

Also, I only see one probable Transformer in that assortment.

Unless they plan on giving us cliffjumper out if the Fiat, and Gears out of the Mini?

Also, also, any body remember Hotwheels’ attempt at transforming cars?
I’m sure these will take the Jada route, and just have a molded TF on the bottom though, rather than actually transform.

No, Jada was representing the alt modes of the characters in model car form. This is just hotwheels cars with some licencing on it (like a pic of Bee on the hood or something like that).

Whilst it is disappointing that they won't be characters in their alt modes, I am actually excited for this!

Not really for the Hot wheels themselves, but the possibilities it opens up

Mattel owns Thomas and Hotwheels, and seeing that they are willing to partner up with Hasbro to make Transformers-branded items, maybe sometime in the future we could see a Thomas x Transformers mashup? Tomy also makes several Thomas toys like the Plarail line, so that could help solidify the relationship even more.

I know its wishful thinking, but anything is possible! :-D

Ahh, well that’s even less interesting.

Yeah, it's generic and unessential, the toy car equivalent to Optimus appearing on a T shirt at Walmart.

I mean, it could be worse, they could do Optimus Prime's head on wheels.

I for one am happy we're avoiding the whole Hot Wheels Character Cars line.

Just a van with a picture of Optimus on it would be boring.

I'd much prefer weird-ass vehicles like the MOTU ones.

I think this is a good line to recreate the G2 GoBots. A red Lamborghini Diablo with Optimus Prime on the hood and maybe neon yellow wheels would at least be funny.

Green is Peter Pan, mostly his outfit, the fin is the feather in his cap.
Yellow is even more abstract, it's Belle, mainly her yellow dress... and hair...

We have our First Images for the Hotwheels Transformers Products

Hasbro is collaborating with it's great industry foe, Mattel. We had Transformers on Uno games and now we have them adorning Hotwheels products. As mentioned before, the assumption was that the Hotwheels products would not in any way be the characters but simply licensed art pasted on. And that's exactly what we are seeing with these new Skate toys. They come with a skateboard that has some Transformers art along with thematic shoes for your fingers.

There will be more Hotwheels product coming.

The images come from the Oeschle website.

Feels like Mattel is throwing pity licensing money to Hasbro after it's last financial report.

(Of course I jest, product concept-to-retail cycles take much longer)

Out of all the possibilities of this collab, this one never crossed my mind!

I guess people collect these too...

Hopefully they'll make something actually exciting. Mattel and Hasbro collaborating was supposed to be big news, but if neither brand will share their big brands then what's the point?

We made it big news due to their inagined rivalry, but it wasnt really anything more than a licensing deal like any other. Hasbro wants to be more of a license holder now, so this is their next step.

And we all know how great that worked out with D&D and Magic: The Gathering now, don't we?

Running stuff into the ground doesn't matter if you make money. Disney made 8 Billion off Star Wars since they acquired it for half that.

And Hasbro is making good money from D&D. That, Transformers and Furby are their best performing brands right now.

Bigger than ever? We can only hope that continues with Transformers.

So the only tihng that might tempt me on these would be if a transformer can actually wear their own shoes and ride their own board.

Unfortunately most of the figures have feet too big, so pass.

It is kinda funny that Starscream on the board looks more like Sunstorm despite Hasbro's insistence not to make him.
