Transformers Yolopark Discussion Thread

Figured I'd create this thread, seeing as how so far I think all discussion has been part of the Rise of the Beasts thread.

Let's get going!

Main reason I started this thread was because I got my Scourge, cheetor, and G1 Megatron!

Scourge is absolutely awesome. I love him so much. With the exception of some missing trophies, he is nigh perfect. I adore him. He is great!

Cheetor is also pretty solid. Feet are a little small, but he is still neat and lithe!

G1 megatron is also super awesome. The diecast adds so much weight to him, he has some heft. Plus, I like all the accessories, the lightsaber and mace are particularly nice. And the rusty weathering brings the whole thing together wonderfully.

Have some pics

If anyone is curious, the Super7 guys scale pretty well with Yolopark items

I got my Rhinox, who included the Prime weapons pack. I think Rhinox looks awesome. And the maximals look good together. Also, Prime really needed those weapons.

Yolopark is Bringing a Fan Design to Life with their Transformers ROTB Apelinq Figure

PostPosted: Thu May 09, 2024 9:54 pm
by william-james88
While Apelinq did not have a robot mode in the movie, there was a fan design for one and Yolopark will be using it as a basis for their officially licensed Apelinq mode kit/figure. They are going all out on this one by having extra weaponry, a lengthier model kit experience, and a magnetized base. You can even choose to give Apelinq extra hair or not. If you want the lowest price, the figure can be ordered from their website. Shipping isn't cheap though. BBTS is also importing this model kit, if you prefer to shop with them, but that inflates the price to $90.

How likely will the fan who conceptualized the bot mode be credited in some way?

Probably none since the fan is likely a profesional that's been compensated, otherwise companies don't typically make a big deal about outsourced designers unless they're a big name.

I'm more curious what this means for the upcoming leader version since this is being called an exclusive design.

The upcoming leader is why I canceled the DNA upgrade kit for Takara Primal. I am expecting Primal with just a new ape head there.

As for this, this looks amazing. I have it up for preorder on BBTS right now, but I may switch to Show-Z once it comes in stock, they were $10 cheaper on the Prime figure and free shipping on any order there is great, plus the points.

Seeing this made me want to have the dna design dk-48 ship already. It's now 3 months late. I would have loved to compare it to this since this one looks cool!

I ordered the G1 Megatron and Optimus Prime last night. Megatron is coming from Amazon, so I'll have him tomorrow. Really looking forward to these. I watched a few reviews and they look awesome. Also, Dalton says they're great, so I believe him.

I'm actually surprised I haven't seen more about Prime and Megatron.

I got the AMK Pro Megatron yesterday. He is awesome! Looks fantastic and poses well. My only complaint is I wish I could swap the faces without needing a screwdriver.

That's right, everyone! This year's exclusive figure set is the first fully-licensed Transformersᵀᴹ product released at BotCon since 2016 eight years ago. You can see all the legal Hasbro info and logos on the front and back of the box.

It just happens to be of the NON-transforming variety and not made by Hasbro themselves, but it's still a big step in the right direction.

Huh, weird that they could have gone all e-Hobby with this set but instead chose to name it Delta Magnus instead of Magna Convoy.

And we continue to wait for a proper Sunstorm from Hasbro...

This is based specifically on something from IDW1, the House of Magnus, of which Delta Magnus was a member. There is to be a convention comic that will likely tell the story of these two, but we'll have to wait and see if the comic is licensed too or not.

There is no properly armored Ultra Magnus figure from which the armored version of Delta could have been made, so they went with the naked version instead, using the same logic as all those many nude Ultra Magnus toys we've gotten in the past that were just white Optimus cab redecos.

"Delta Magnus" has essentially become the main Transformers name for Diaclone Powered Convoy, and the inner cab robot is just as much a part of that. Simple as that.

I know all that, I just thought it was strange for them to go all "naked Delta Magnus" and then pair him with "e-Hobby Sunstorm" when they could have gone all in on an e-Hobby set and make it Magna Convoy. Knowing they're producing a comic to go with this answers that.

I wasn't too sure about these, but those in hand pics sold me on them, that Apelinq especially looks like a fun build.
Kinda want the BotCon set for the Powered Convoy colours alone, always liked that deco.

Yolopark is going all out on their Transformers One model kits, with 2 versions for the main characters, one for before and after they get their cog. The products are in the Previews site with official images. We also have in hand images since these kits were given as gifts during a movie preview event in Hong Kong. We can see that they are the size of deluxe Transformers figures.

Why has Hasbro let two different companies issue the same style of snap together figures?
https://yolopark.com/collections/transformers
And
https://blokees.com/collections/transformers

I know the yolo ones are a little bigger but they are more or less the same size and style.

You couldn’t be more wrong. Yolopark are essentially budget friendly Three Zero figures in close to SS, very accurate detail too.

Blokees are very stylized and chibified movie characters and G1/IDW Characters in a very small, almost Core class/Action Master scale and style.

They also don’t assemble in nearly the same way, Yolopark is just “put a few pieces together” while Blokees are more akin to a PlaMo kit with runners.

The price points and collector draw are also very different, Yolopark’s figures are anywhere from $15-60 ish, while Blokees range from like $7-15 in (mostly) blind boxes

The more apt comparison is between Blokees vs. Yolopark AMK Mini, not with the AMK line.

I would much prefer these were more gundam style kits.. I mean, if these constitute a model kit then so do marvel and DC BAF’s.

I’m not saying they don’t look great, they do.. just calling them model kits doesn’t sit right with me.

People speculate that's due to a kind of licensing rights limitation. Seems to me traditional Gundam style HG-size model kits are locked up by Flame Toys for G1 characters. Smaller movie ones were licensed to Trumpeteer for BBM. Chibi/SD scale to Blokees. So maybe options were given to Flametoys/Trumpeteer before Yolopark? It's not like Yolopark can't do proper model kits, I have its PMK BBM OP and it was like PG Gundam 2.0 level of amazing.

So in the end, whatever licensing Yolopark got for the AMK lines, it's probably just a financial decision for them, thinking calling these BAF "Action Model Kits" is the best way to go for mass appeal.

I personally love them, I have as much Gundam as Transformers, while I miss the building from the ground up process, I also love that I don't have to spray paint the kits (the part of the process I hate/avoid the most, even worse than sanding) and I just concentrate on panel lining, detailing and weathering. And they are many, many times more fun to pose and can take a hunch more abuse than Gundam kits.

Looking forward to these, Yolopark has become probably my new favorite source of TF non-tfing figures.

I have all 8 on preorder, and will be pretty happy if they can fit nicely into the SS shelf
