It's this line of thinking right here that led to Combiner Wars Blast Off initially being released as a jet instead of a shuttle.

Scale is out the window with the Combaticons anyway.

Even if they make Blast Off a Jet, it's still widely out of scale with a Tank, a Jeep and a Helicopter regardless.

Just let him be a totally off scale Shuttle and we'll be fine.

Preordered sideways. Great take on one of my all time favourite bot mode designs

Whoa, that's a deep reference.

You're likely right, though, as I think that's too specific to be coincidental.

Sideways looks INCREDIBLY well-done, holy crap. I had to study him carefully to be sure he wasn't a reissue!

The biggest difference from the original is the presence of ankle tilts on the new one.

Same! I'm comparing him to my GF original, and there are very minute differences I'm really spotting now. Interesting that in the stock photos the backpack is kept up.

Went in Wal-mart yesterday and couldn't believe my eyes; actual new current wave figures, early even. I bought Waspinator and (the only)Slingshot. They also had 1 Air Raid but Slingshot is the only Aerialbot I want(they all look great though), so I left it.

IMG_20250319_144813.jpg

Slingshot is awesome. I have only two complaints: he cannot look up at all and his heels/back of foot. Another hinge was needed or something, but I know, blah blah, not in the budget. Otherwise perfect, looks like he jumped off the screen.

Waspinator was my first time handling this mould as I didn't like Animated Bee enough to buy and was waiting on Wasp. Very glad I did, as he is amazing. This small of a figure has wrist swivels and the rest of the articulation all over that deluxe scale and up should, but importantly he can look all the way up, wonderful. :HASBRO: :TAKARATOMY: Please articulate all heads like this, a small cutout to allow looking up is much preferred then accurate back of the head looks to me.

Now I have completed my G1 headcannon Scavengers :D

The deluxe Aerialbots look so cheap compared to the UW/CW versions. The total cost of the set would be over $200, I might as well just buy a UW set from Japan for that much.

Reviews for Transformers Age of the Primes Wave 1 Figures

Fans across the world are having fun finding the Transformers Age of the Primes line in stores a bit earlier than expected. We now have lots of reviews available for these figures, so here’s a rundown in case you want as much info as possible before spending your hard-earned cash on them.

Megatronus the Fallen
One of the original Thirteen Primes, Megatronus is a dark and powerful figure who eventually becomes The Fallen. He is known for his betrayal and for killing Solus Prime, an act that led to his exile. This figure captures his menacing look and transforms into a Cybertronian tank.

G2 Universe Grimlock & Autobot Wheelie
This Leader Class release features Grimlock in his Generation 2 blue and gold color scheme, a throwback to the 1990s toy line. He transforms into a robotic Tyrannosaurus rex and includes a small, non-transforming Autobot Wheelie figure that can ride on his back.

G2 Grimlock does not have a full video review at the moment

Prima Prime
The first Transformer created by Primus, Prima is the Warrior of Light and the original wielder of the Matrix of Leadership. This figure represents him as a heroic and noble character with a design that emphasizes his mythic origins.

Red Alert (Armada Universe)
Based on the character from Transformers: Armada, this figure modernizes Red Alert’s design while keeping his emergency rescue vehicle alt mode. He features sculpted details inspired by his original incarnation and is a treat for Unicron Trilogy fans.

Solus Prime
The Prime of Creation, Solus Prime is revered for her ability to forge weapons and artifacts used by the other Primes. This figure includes a stylized forge hammer and a sleek, powerful look that reflects her important role in Cybertronian mythology.

Air Raid
A member of the Aerialbots, Air Raid transforms into a jet and is known for his brash, reckless flying style. This figure captures his G1-inspired colors and simplified design suitable for younger fans or collectors looking to complete their Aerialbot team.

Slingshot
Another core member of the Aerialbots, Slingshot transforms into a jet and is known for his arrogant and loud personality. This version stays close to his G1 roots and complements the rest of the team for a potential combiner display.

Wasp (Animated)
Before he became Waspinator, Wasp was a cadet in the Autobot Academy in Transformers: Animated. He was falsely accused of being a Decepticon spy by Bumblebee and imprisoned, which began his path toward madness. This figure represents him in his pre-Waspinator form, with a unique green and black color scheme and a stylized alt mode.

While I've not personally seen AoP in stores yet, Game Stop did have Prima Prime in stock so I ordered it to get free shipping on a couple other items I wanted. Here i thought my first purchase for 2025 would be an Aerialbot. lol
And only because the 13 don't really interest me that much, I only like a few of the designs so probably won't get them all anyway. If not for getting a rebate on said purchase I would have waited for a sale on Amazon or something for this particular character.

My most anticipated figure as of now would have to either be Silverbolt or Air Raid.

Spotted two Animated Wasps at my local Walmart. If they had anything else it was long gone.

I just transformed Red Alert and man... It's good and bad. The good is that he look perfect in all mode and he's solid in hand. The bad is that he's full of really, REALLY HARD "snap" joints all over the place, making posing a chore. Plus the heels and head are badly designed because for transformation, I needed a tool to take them out of their holes.

Also...

I can't believe that DELUXE Transformers now cost over 50$CAN.

I miss the old CHUG / Unicron Trilogy days...

I don't care about the official label.
It's the size of a deluxe, the weigh of a deluxe, and the parts count of a deluxe.
By classic CHUG and Unicron Trilogy standards, of course.

I got my first Age of the Primes sighting last night at Meijer of all places, and picked up Waspinator. Hes really really cool. The mold has thoroughly impressed me, its so sold! Holds good in both modes. Can this be the new generations esq body mold for Bumblebee going forward? Litte retool and it could make a sick non animated style Bee or Cliffjumper

We have a Listing for Transformers Age of the Primes Big Convoy

Thanks to JTPrime 17, we now have our first listing for the 2026 Age of the Primes line and it is none other than Big Convoy. Now we knew he'd be coming in one way or another, with him appearing on previous artwork and we also had a rumour of him coming out as probably Made to Order. Well it turns out he won't be made to order, but will instead just be a standard retail release, coming out as a leader class figure.

Here is the listing:

Tra Gen Prime LDR Big Convoy
Product Number: G1906

I'm hoping that it's no taller than the original, since the three main hero Convoys of Japanese Beast Wars are all supposed to be equal in height to each other in their organic beast robot forms.

And I guess we'll have to wait and see what name they sell him under, since Hasbro has never used the "Convoy" name for a Japanese-original character at US mass retail.
