Found this over at TFW2005.com.

Looks like some cool stuff, not quite alternators but I think these will fill the gap...

Anyone got any info on when these came out, will they release in US,(stores), net only, etc... Please let me know if you got info on these!!!

Happywell makes a bunch of these. They6've been out for a while now. You'll mostly likely find them at stores that carry knockoffs, like Dollar Stores or the like.

They are larger than your average alternator. so don't quite fit.

But by themselves they are quite good toys.

Those Roadbots started apearing quite recently over here. I got the huge Ford GT and the tiny Murcialago (did i spell that right) but i was unfortunately a little dissapointed with them.

The alt modes look great but the transformation into robot requires the removal of way too many parts that become "weapons".

The robot modes themselves are a little odd looking. They aren't particularly well proportioned and articulation is rather poor.

I haven't managed to find one of the medium sized figures yet but i do think that from the pictures i've seen they look the best of the bunch so i'll probably grab one to see if it wins me over.

I echo this, while yes, they would make excellent kitbash fodder, I bought the extra large Ford GT, which I like, but I also have the Hummer, Lamborghini, and another, and the Lambo is on my shelf as a car. Pieces do not line up well, the robot modes are LOOSE for the most part.

The melee weapons are cool though.

The Roadbots have also appeared in Australia as well, in Big W for $30 a piece.

They arent too bad looking, the Land Cruiser figure in particular impresses me.

I don't know how good they really are for kitbashing, as they are a tad bigger than the regular alts.
