Somehow, Hero Mashers returned. They are back in MixMashers form, and we have images of the first 4 thanks to Amazon Australia. Indeed, while the name has changed the gimmick and toy is very similar to the Hero Mashers. It is cool to see how much Optimus Primal has risen to the status of a primary character within Transformers since the first four characters released are him and Bumblebee, in the standard class, along with Optimus and Megatron in a more expensive package due to extra accessories which augment their form.
You can check out the images below along with the listings.

People say Hero Mashers didn't sell. I hope the new MixMashers do better. I think if Hasbro market these as a sort of "Lego Bionicles Lite" will be more successful.
Give us a Skybound OP & Megatron so collectors can DIY an OP w/ Fusion Cannon and enough characters to create our own Autobot X then you'll see a stampede to snap these up!

Hmmm...so after Optimus objected so strongly to Megatron killing Sentinel at the end of TF1, they divvied up his body parts for both of them to use as extra armor?!?
I just remembered why I don't particularly miss Hero Mashers that much: all the combinations seemed to imply dark, unpleasant backstories in my mind, even more so after watching Mandroid's donors for so long. Construct-Bots had a greater sense of natural play about them, though I tired of that too after 2 years.
The only Masher toy I found fun was Venom, because you could make it look like characters from other properties were possessed by the symbiote.
But yes, Skybound increased demand for one obvious OP/Megs combination, far more iconic than Guiltaur/Gilthor, so it's time for another crack at it. Hope enough kids disagree with my dislike and overthinking of the original -mashers!

Hmmm judging by the fact that Bumblebee has Starscream on his packaging and the fact that we know the others are coming on the packages, I guess we're getting Starscream early on as well!
Definitely getting Primal but not sure about the others! Was never a big fan of Hero Mashers! I only owned a few Marvel and an Anakin that I got at Goodwill!

It's kinda funny how Optimus' axe comes with a forearm because none of them have removable hands.
I'm a little intrigued by Optimus and Megatron, maybe Primal too. Gotta see them in person.

Hero Mashers are back, in MixMashers form! Chuckdawg1999 has a review of the first standard class mix which includes Optimus Primal, Bumblebee and Starscream. Not a glowing review though, you can check it out below.

These are just missing something that would take them to the next level.

Kids will probably like them, and that seems to be the target demographic. But yes - as someone who prefers my action figures with superior range of motion? These are insufficient for my needs, and will therefore not be objects of interest. Even the RED figures didn't have enough articulation for my taste, so these MixMashers don't make the cut...
