Bumblebee '74 Camaro. Painted window better than clear window?

I think so.

I recently got the Japanese version, i hesitate calling it Takara because the only markings on the packaging are Hasbro, and upon comparing it to the US/European version i think it's the inferior of the two.

Don't get me wrong, i love the clear windows, it's just that because of those windows the top and doors of the car are painted while the front aswell as the lower sides and back are yellow plastic.

The thing that bugs me is the drastic change in colour between the connecting panels.

Anybody else with me prefering the painted window version or should i go and sit in the corner?

:-?

I don't have that clearwindowed version, but from the pics I've seen of it, it looks good. Not in a hurry to buy it though.

Looks like Hasblo's crappy paint apps strikes again...

I NEVER liked painted plastic It's the cheap route. Hasbro did do a good job with Classics BB and CJ though, but that stuff can scratch or rub off over time is you're not careful.

Edit: the thing that bugs me more is Hasblo fails to bother to paint the edges. Look at 2008 Camaro, the door edges are clear blue when they should be yellow. Grrrrrr...

Another Paint Over Clear Plastic Blunder Comes With Voager Ratchet. I Mean Come On. The Paint Color and Plastic Color Don't Even Come Close To Matching.

I totally prefer the clear window version. I'll take a slight mismatch in yellow over the cheap looking blue window paint on the American release.

Since they both seem to be manufactured by Hasbro, I wonder why there even is a difference.

Come to think of it, I actually would not call it a blunder. More of Hasbro's laziness to match colors properly. Molded colors will be a shade different than painted on colors, especially when it is painted on a translucent color. It is kind of like how paint looks on metal and plastic, it dries a different shade. Even real car manufacturers have to use a different shade of the same color on the composite bumpers to match the steel body of the cars. They even have to blend them as well.

For some reason though, the white Rescue Ratchet does't suffer from this problem. I think White and Black are the only 2 colors that don't.

No, I saw them at the shops the other day... didn't pick it up though now that I am saving up for Ultimate Bumblebee. It didn't have the blue edge you were talking about...

i prefer painted windows on bb for another reason. open his doors in car mode, and what greets you? a whole chunk of robo-leg and automprph struts, along with his backside pressed against the winshield. also, i see no one complaining about how barricades back windows are unpainted black plastic, while his front and door windows are clear plastic?
